Anderson "Attitude" Silva vs Roy Jones Jr.??

The video below this post is there for a reason. It is the 1st meeting between Anderson "Spider" Silva and Yushin "Thunder" Okami from back in their days at ROTR. What is interesting is that not only does Silva illegally KO Okami from the floor, but the referee actually has to hold Anderson back from inflicting further illegal damage. Silva thus lost he bout and went on to find prominence in the UFC winning the Middleweight Title. Now as luck would have it, Yushin Okami may now have found himself as the #1 contender to Silva and already sporting a win via bad blood, adds intrigue to the as yet unofficial match. So what does Anderson think about his possible opponent oh these many years later?

"I feel it was a cheap, cowardly way of winning," a pointed Silva said more than two years after the bout. "People that were there saw that he was in the condition to come back and keep fighting, and he didn't." He also mentioned that he doesn't "really think much of anything of Okami. It wasn't really a fight," Silva describes the disqualification loss before adding that he doesn't want to talk about it anymore. Whoa, why the 'tude on the subject oh Spider? For some reason the 2007 Fighter Of The Year just seems to have a problem with ole Okami. The guy basically lost his shit for a moment and still doesn't like the guy who did nothing wrong. I've never seen the usually professional Silva act this way, but maybe that will fuel the fire in their hopefully, upcoming bout. I say hopefully because...........

Anderson Silva has issued a boxing challenge to Roy Jones Jr. "I think he's a great boxer, one of the greatest boxers to ever box," Silva says of Jones. "I would love the opportunity to test my skills against him." The challenge from Silva is for a boxing match, not an MMA bout but it seems circus none the less. MMA fighters and Professional Boxers continue to have beef with each other's job. I have no desire to see this exhibition between to combatants in two completely different sports. It would be like a Hockey All-Star challenging and NBA All-Star to a shooting contest. The two professions are different and it takes different skills to do both. Roy is past his prime as Silva is coming into his and the NHL isn't even a sport. I may be getting confused here.

Its just a challenge, take it for what its worth, nothing. Dana White would have to "ok" the event and I doubt they could land Jones especially when Floyd Mayweather is the boxer talking all the shit on MMA while "fighting" in the WWE. Someone other than the Big Show needs to shut that bitch up and while I'm at it, hey Nascar fans, fuck you for even thinking you are a sport. I enjoy a good ramble. That is all.
