Cage Rage 25: Both Shamrocks Fall

It wasn't much of a surprise as Ken Shamrock 26-13-2 found his 5th loss in a row at Cage Rage 25 against Robert "Buzz" Berry 12-7. Ken now 44, looked slow, unsure, and old as he took shots from Buzz, attempted but one takedown against the much larger Heavyweight, and then got KO'd as has become his MO. It has now been 4 years since Shamrock has gotten a victory (over Kimo Leopoldo) leaving many to wonder just what he is doing at Cage Rage with a multi-fight deal. I fully expect at least one more fight from Ken at this promotion and probably more "living death." "The World's Once Dangerous Man" has been TKO'd or KO'd in his last 5 bouts and seems content not to take people down with his wrestling credentials, and instead stick out his glass chin to make others highlight reels.

Tank Abbott 9-14 who has last 4 in a row coming off his embarrassing KO loss to Kimbo Slice, is still calling out Ken for a fight and I wouldn't be shocked if Cage Rage made it happen. The fight though realistically unimportant would at least draw a crowd and one man would have to finally gain a win. The "O" must go in reverse. Also, the proposed fight with stepbrother Frank Shamrock for December has got to be off the table now, as it would seem pointless.

Ryan Shamrock 1-1, 18 year old son of said Ken, didn't fare much better in his young career as he and Giorgio Andrews 3-0 went toe to toe in an entertaining slug fest, but broke his left hand in the fight and could not continue to the 2nd round. Ryan will heal and still so new in his MMA career he does show promise of a future top competitor. Give him time.

Robert Berry who comes out the better in all this, may be tapped to face Kimbo Slice next as Elite XC promotes and owns Cage Rage and needs an average Heavyweight to fight the street fighting sensation. Good luck with that Buzz.
