Nick Diaz vs the CSAC

Nick Diaz has been pulled from his Saturday fight at Strikeforce via Armondo Garcia even though he passed his pre-fight physicals. The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) cited late medicals which Pro Elite (owners of Strikeforce) deny. Promoter Gary Shaw claims Nick's medicals were finished two weeks prior and that he has a legal prescription for Marijuana from the state of California for "A.D.D." All of that being said, Nick still claims he would have passed his drug test anyway and been deemed "clean" for the fight. The CSAC has seen fit to not even give him the chance.

It all of course dates back to win Diaz upset Takanori Gomi, but tested positive for Marijuana thus the commission ruled the fight a NC. Following their rules, Diaz paid a fine and sat out a 6 month suspension for the infraction, and then got a proper and legal card for his Marijuana use. Though other fighters have presented the same cards and been allowed to fight, Nick Diaz was not.

A lawsuit will most likely be forth coming from Pro Elite for Nick Diaz and I hope he gets the money he would have earned for this fight, money for his last suspension, and money for compensation. Fighters careers are short and this is the 2nd time they have stopped him from fighting. Gary Shaw is no one to fuck with and Diaz "ain't no bitch." The CSAC, specifically Armando Garcia have over stepped their authority and must be held responsible.
