UFC 84 iLL WiLL

Main Card Bouts:
Lightweight Champion B.J. Penn vs. Sean Sherk We this is going to be a ground war and that is all we know for sure. BJ has that flexibility that atones for being in the worse position on bottom as well as being able to make his elbows count. Kenny Florian cut up Sherk as well and still took a 5 round beating. Which brings up the cardio thing. I think BJ is finally taking his career seriously as far as training goes and hell, I want him to beat Sherk, but, when it comes to going 5 rounds which man would you choose? Sean is a physical machine with or without the steroids. He takes you down and stays just busy enough to hold you there and win the round. I'd be surprised if BJ can get out of or be effective (points) enough to win the war.
WINNER-Sean Sherk by decision

Lyoto Machida vs. Tito Ortiz I see's me a Tito Shamrocking someone bout ahead. Machida is fluid, quick, and accurate, but can rarely finish anyone. Now he falls into Tito specialty. He is the consummate slow down fighter waiting to win on points or annoyance. Its the battle of the guys that lull you to sleep but I think once to the floor (and it will go there) Tito takes advantage. When is the last time you saw Tito on his back besides after being KO'd by Liddell that is or being spanked by Couture? He dictates the pace and wins a snore fest.
WINNER-Tito Ortiz by decision

Keith Jardine vs. Wanderlei Silva Silva loses 4 straight and he's gone from the UFC folks. Dana's words not mine. Both guys bring unorthodox striking to the table while Jardine has some of the best leg kicks in the game and Silva is the warrior of warriors. You can flip your own coin but God telling me the result wouldn't stop me from picking the return of the "Axe Murderer."
WINNER-Wanderlei Silva by TKO Rd. 2

Thiago Silva vs. Antonio Mendes For those who don't know or go on appearances alone, Mendes is one bad ass dude. Those who don't know, this will probably be the best fight on the card. These two throw to kill and is coming in off 12 straight wins while Silva has not even sniffed defeat in his 12 total fights. My prediction for "Fight Of The Night" and a win for Chute Boxe.
WINNER-Thiago Silva by badass camp

Wilson Gouveia vs. Goran Reljic Goran comes from Gracie Barra is 7-0, and has fought at Heavyweight. Gouveia defeated Jason Lambert derailing his Title hopes but I've never really been impressed by the guy. Lackadaisical style and sometimes out of shape. "Upset Pick #1" for the Croation with Gracie training. (Upset Pick #2)
WINNER-Reljic by sub Rd.2

Preliminary Bouts:
Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura Soko fell from grace as fast as he rose when Lyoto Machida made a bitch out of the much feared Team Quest striker. Nakamura is one of the toughest and best guys sent from Japan but he is out sized and outmatched here. Soko goes for a quick win and Naks only chance is to weather the storm and come on later. I don't think he does and Soko shows a little more than just his stand up skills (judo).
WINNER-Sokodjou by TKO Rd.3

Yoshiyuki Yoshida vs. Jon Koppenhaver Yoshi can throw a punch and Jon can take one (see his fight with J-Rock). So Jon takes the shots and either falls down or loses by decision. I got no love for the sloppy stylings of the TUF alumni. (Upset Pick#3)
WINNER-Yoshida by decision

Rousimar Palhares vs. Ivan Salaverry Ivan does everything well but lacks power and was shook by his quick KO loss to Terry Martin more than a year ago. Rous is a BTT Ju-Jitsu specialist which makes me lean to him but Salaverry is no slouch on the floor. Close call but I'm on an "Upset" tear.
WINNER-Palhares by sub (Upset Pick #4, we're going crazy here people!)

Shane Carwin vs. Christian Wellisch Garwin just because I don't give a shit about Wellisch so welcome new guy. (Technically Upset Pick #5)
WINNER-Carwin

Dong-hyun Kim vs. Jason Tan Only Jordan Breen would know who these guys are.
WINNER-Asian Persuasion

Terry Etim vs. Rich Clementi Etim is a tough Brit but "No Love" gets another win via TKO.
WINNER-Clementi
