UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008 Predictions & Picks

UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008 DECEMBER 27, 2008

Main Card:
UFC "Interim" Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir I love both these guys and the Jiu-Jitsu war could be closer than people expect. However, Mir's striking and chin are no where near as elite as the unstoppable "Big Nog."
WINNER-Antonio "Coming To Kill Lesnar" Nogueira by TKO Rd. 2

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans Athleticism and highlight reel striking aside, I have changed my mind on this TUF alumni battle for the belt. Rashad looks great often after a slow start, while Griffin attacks you with a non-stop "I will out work you" approach that will give Evans fits. No doubt Randy Couture has worked with Griffin on avoiding the distance and that overhand right of death, so Forrest clinches and brawls to victory. Watch for Griffin to break Evans will at some point in the 3rd or 4th round as frustration leads to giving up.
WINNER-Forrest Griffin by points spread

Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva 3 The "hat trick" is nearly impossible in any sport but Jackson's sketchy interviews this past week show a glaring lack of confidence and all around chaos in the mind of a man who once thought he was "god" on his way through the streets of California in a monster truck bearing his name. Wand is focused and full of hate for a man he just cannot stand the sight of. A "gong and dash" approach for Wand jumping all over Jackson leads to disarray for "Rampage" who is coming to this fight with court troubles looming, a new camp, and an "Axe Murderer" back to true form.
WINNER-Wanderlei Silva by god complex

Mostapha Al Turk vs. Cheick Kongo Well here is another opponent specifically brought in to build up the resume of one Kongo. Strikes, strikes, and more strikes en route to another KO victory. This cat going to fight anyone decent Joe Silva?
WINNER-The Kongo by the KO

C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio Now here we have an entertaining and tough fight to call. Back in their amateur wrestling days, these 2 men met and battled never knowing the rematch would come all these years later in the MMA world. Mike has better submissions but I'd take CB on the feet anyday. I'm also not believing Massenzio can even pull guard to get this to the mat where he has a chance. Hopefully, the Dollaway arrogance has been abated and he will take things serious in a fight in which he must focus his full attention.
WINNER-Dollaway by 15:00 grindout
Prelims:
Yushin Okami vs. Dean Lister OK, why doesn't Yushin have his title shot against Anderson Silva again? Oh, they bi-passed him for Thales Leites and Patrick Cote eh? Seems fair. Somebody start standing up for "Thunder," the last man to defeat Anderson Silva mind you, and get him his damned title shot. Oh, yes, he grinds out Lister for the win.
WINNER-Thunder Okami by thunderous (maybe not) decision
Matt Hamill vs. Reese Andy Someone sign for Hamill to stop, Andy is a bloody pulp. I saw into the future there for a moment, and the future goes black for Reesey pooh.
WINNER-What? by TnayOh (TKO)
Ryo Chonan vs. Brad Blackburn And now the guys who can be good but are as consistent as something that is not very consistent. I writer beautiful. Ryo should win this but who the hell knows?
WINNER-Piranha by mysterious circumstances
Pat Barry vs. Dan Evensen The "Striking Viking" is put on the highlight reel again. And again he is the victim as the K-1 alum Barry destroys him in uno rounda.
WINNER-Pat Berry by Kwhollyshit
Antoni Hardonk vs. Mike Wessel Leg kick, Thai clinch, leg kick, Thai clinch, you fall down now. Me the Donk win for you fans.
WINNER-Hardonkadonk by TKO
