2010 K-1 World Grand Prix Finals, MFC 23 Results, & Very Little More

Thales Leites defeated Dean Lister at MFC 23 to finally stop the hemorrhaging that was his 2 fight losing streak after being the #1 contender to the UFC Middleweight crown. An uneventful lack of effort against Anderson Silva and an inexplicable loss to journeyman Alessio Sakara earned the pink slip for the at one time rising star from Brazil. Now working to get back his mojo, Thales got a workman decision victory over the always tough, though striking limited "Boogeyman" in a new promotion. Don't count Leites out of a future UFC return just yet and Lister continues to confound me as to why he can't evolve.

Another former UFC employee, Jason MacDonald, ended his 3 fight losing streak with a narrow Split-Decision win over Solomon Hutcherson also at MFC 23. The "Athlete" hit a bad streak this year but is looking to rebound in 2010 fighting back home in Canada as well as a possible spot in the growing Strikeforce roster.

Semmy Schilt wins the 2010 K-1 World Grand Prix in impressive style by getting KO wins in the 1st round of his 3 bouts. The Holland giant defeated Jerome LeBanner in his initial bout with body kicks and last year's winner Remy Bonjasky in his 2nd fight of the night with leg kicks. In the finals he met kickboxing bad boy Badr Hari who had embarrassed him in their first meeting earlier this year. This time the 6'11" Schilt got the KO win with a painful liver kick that crumpled the big mouthed Hari. Semmy then dedicated his win to fellow training partner Vitali Mitu who died after a sparring session with Schilt. Schilt is now a 4 time Grand Prix Champion!

Alistair Overeem and Badr Hari evened their grudge match at 1 a piece when they met in the 2nd round of the K-1 event. The "Demolition Man" demolished Hari in their previous bad blood meeting but this time Badr landed a big punch that dropped the alleged steroid abuser. From there it was an all out assault as the new "Golden Boy" landed a right high kick that sent Overeem tumbling into the corner. The referee had seen enough and halted the bout a bit prematurely. Still its 1-1 but when are they going to have that MMA rules match that they agreed to in 2008?

Normally I would not cover a Cameron Dollar win as the kid isn't exactly a world beater, but I just like watching the annoying Kit Cope constantly fail. The TUF alumni sunk in a RNC in the 1st round at ROF 36 adding to Cope's stellar MMA record of 3-5, while upping his impressive stats to 3-2. Kit Kat continues to suck and should stick to being an annoying seldom seen sometimes TV hostess.

A friend of mine mentioned 2012 last night to me and it's the first I heard about it so I jumped on here out of curiosity. I think it's kind of sick and sounds like a bunch of skeptical jargon.
I choose to live every day like it is the last because let's be real, WHO THE HELL KNOWS what is going to happen or when it's your time to go on. The past is history, the future is a mystery and now is a gift, thats why it's called the present. It's not healthy to sit around and trip out about when you will die. Stop wasting your time you have now.
