STRIKEFORCE Miami

The MMA "picks" game returns with an exciting "Main Event" and a just terrible card. Most of us won't even see this tragedy "live." I like "quotes."

STRIKEFORCE: January 30, 2010
BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida

Main Card (On
Showtime):
Nick Diaz (20-7) vs. Marius Zaromskis (13-3) This 5-round fight is for the vacant
Strikeforce Welterweight Championship. "Diablo" has been on a tear as of late winning 5 straight and impressing the MMA world. Marius has been devastating people in Japan also winning 5 in a row, 3 of which were highlight head kick KO's in a row. If Diaz would just pull guard this fight would be over quickly with a blink of the eye submission, but he'll probably stand with a sick specialist and get blasted in similar fashion to the KJ Noons debacle. Either way I bet its exciting shit.
WINNER-"The Whitemare" by Rd.2 TKO
*UPDATE* "I ain't no bitch." Diaz looks far bigger at the weigh-ins and will use his loong reach advantage all night. WINNER-Nick Diaz!
145 lb. Womens Champion Cris "Cyborg" Santos (8-1) vs. Marloes Coenen (17-3) Yes well, expect the Women's Champion to dominate in typical brutal fashion.
WINNER-"Femborg" by Rd.3 TKO
Robbie Lawler (16-5) vs. Melvin Manhoef (24-6-1) A bomber's delight as 2 ferocious punchers with massive power throw to kill. Unfortunately Mel has zero game besides the striking and with wrestling, ample power, far better cardio, and Matt Hughes HIT Squad, I'll take "Ruthless" to find a way after avoiding damage early.
WINNER-Lawler Rd.1 KO
Herschel Walker (0-0) vs. Greg Nagy (1-1) As stupid as this "name" bout is,
Scott Coker would not put Hershel in the cage with someone he couldn't beat.
WINNER-#34
Bobby Lashley (4-0) vs. Wes Sims (22-12-1) Another "name" bout as the
WWE/TNA pro wrestler takes on the wanna be pro wrestler, annoying ass TUF alum, member of the awful Hammer House, and hasn't been notable since 2004.
WINNER-"The Boss" by ugly Decision

Preliminary Card (Live on
EASports.com):
Jay Hieron (18-4) vs. Joe Riggs (32-10) This is kinda intriguing as Riggs tries to stay healthy and continue his 4 fight winning streak. Jay wants a title shot with the winner of
Diaz/Zaromskis and has an impressive 6 fight winning streak. Randy Couture continues to guide "The Thoroughbred" toward serious MMA attention and will be coming to impress. It is very appreciated that they give us this bout for free online.
WINNER-Jay Hieron by Decision

Preliminary Card (Non-Televised):
Pablo Alfonso (5-1) vs. Marcos Da Matta (7-0) W-Da Matta
Michael Byrnes vs. David Zitnik (
This is awful) W-Zitnik
Sabah Homasi (2-0) vs. John Kelly (3-0) (2
near rookies) W-Kelly
Craig Oxley (0-2) vs. David Gomez (0-2) (Craig has not fought since
2001) W-Gomez
Hayder Hassan vs. Ryan Keenan (3-0)
W-Keenan
