MMA Melee: Steroid Rewards & Oh God James Toney

Dutch website
Mixfight.nl spoke with Alistair Overeem's camp about a potential bout saying they welcome the fight and feel Fedor Emelianenko is deserving. M-1's Apy Echteld says the Red Devil's welcome the opportunity if the "Demolition Man" would agree to rigorous drug testing. Many in the MMA community have long speculated the Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion has used steroids avoiding drug testing overseas. Now due to a contract dispute, Fedor's potential fight in March with Fabricio Werdum is now off, and Strikeforce has named Brett Rogers the #1 contender for the belt and Alistair will fight him in May at a St. Louis show for the strap.
*Everyone seems to fear the record padding Overeem and his magical girth but here are some interesting statistics about his ability to find unconsciousness.
KO'd 6 Times In MMA:
-Sergei Kharitonov
-Mauricio Rua (twice)
-Antônio Rogério Nogueira
-Chuck Liddell
-Bobby Hoffman

KO'd 3 Times In K-1:
-Badr Hari
-Glaube Feitosa
-Errol Parr

After calling Dana White "a ho," James Tony has officially signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC though the rumors about a potential fight with Kimbo Slice are just that. "Lights Out" has a 72-6 Boxing record, and has competed against some of the toughest fighters in the sport. James Toney will finally make his way to MMA, where he will join the NFLer Herschel Walker and steroid veteran Jose Canseco as "big name" athletes who are going to embarrass themselves in the truest combat sport.

Speaking of avoiding the States drug testing policies, Josh Barnett has signed with DREAM in Japan. Barnett has famously skipped the country after failing a drug test when he was UFC Heavyweight Champion and then again when when he tested positive for anabolic steroids in pre-fight screening for a WAMMA title fight with Fedor Emelianenko. Barnett denied he used steroids but the California State Athletic Commission has denied him a license until he appears before their committee for punishment. After a ridiculous 4 missed attempts at license renewal, the "Babyface Assassin" seems to have decided fleeing is the better part of cowardice. He will debut in March at DREAM 13 against TBA.

Andrei "Iron Chin" Arlovski has also officially signed to Strikeforce and is looking forward to getting KO'd again when he faces Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva in May at STL. The "Pitbull" is coming off back to back 1st round highlight KO's but is a 2-time UFC Heavyweight Champion and is hooking up with the Greg Jackson camp to try and revitalize his career.

Mirko Cro Cop is going to fight fellow K-1 veteran Pat Barry since a frightened Ben Rothwell is now signed to face the far less talented Gilbert Yvel all at UFC 115. Why Rothwell would fight a step down striker is obvious as the Heavyweights begin to tremble at the thought of Cro Cop returning to his old devastating form.
