Strikeforce Fedor vs Henderson Results In Controversy! Miesha Tate Crowned New Champion!

Gabriel Salinas-Jones submits Bryan Humes with a Brabo Choke in the final round. "Submission Of The Night"

Derek Brunson taps Lumumba Sayers with the RNC in the 1st round.

Alexis Davis Upsets Julie Kedzie by Unanimous Decision.

Tyler Stinson KO'd Eduardo Pamplona a mere 15 seconds into the fight! Holy shit didn't see that coming! "KO Of The Night"

Gesias Cavalcante snuck by Bobby Green by Split-Decision. This wasn't as close as you think and its a nice much needed win for "JZ." Apparently, there was also an altercation between these two men after the fight in the locker room.

Before the next bout, we pause to listen to the brilliant commentary.
Gus: "Frank, why did Scott drop to Welterweight?"
Frank: "I have no idea."
Gus: "Ok."
And now back to action.

Tarec Saffiedine defeats Scott Smith by Unanimous Decision. Well that was bizarre. From the get go it seemed as if Smith's feet were encased in stone and not his hands. Scott did absolutely nothing early and often while Tarec raped Smith in the clinch with knee after knee. For the 2nd round Smith became target practice absorbing punishment while Saffiedine danced and practiced. Scott finally got knocked down but shot for a single leg holding on for dear life and eventually sneaking out the back door. Scott looks very slow and tired for the final round as the damage accumulates on his face. Tarec lands thudding shots and combo after combo while Smith just eats it not even attempting to move his head. The announcers said the Team Quest fighter out landed Smith 82-8 at one point! It's a route 30-27 across the board for 1 of the new #1 Contenders to the Welterweight crown!

Now we sit through an interview with Heidi (I don’t even care enough to look up your last name) who stammers and studders like Elmer Fudd while we wait for the translator to inform Fedor of the innocuous moronic questions being asked by a wannabe model who knows as much about the sport as New York assemblymen Bob Reilly.

Tyron Woodley defeats Paul Daley by Unanimous Decision. "Semtex" spent most of the fight employing his much improved takedown defense against the ever charging Woodley. Paul looks vastly improved fighting off the fence but doesn't have time to emit any offense. "T-Wood" finally got that takedown in the 2nd and after some incidental G&P and Daley just lays on him in guard and this IS looking like the Koscheck/Daley fight. Boring. For the final round we exchange wildly early and Paul misses a knee and ends up on his back until a 1:30 is left and we get back to the feet. Now we are mixing it up with both men throwing knees and strikes. Paul actually rolled into an oma-plata (perfectly) which was shocking but Ty reverses and stays on top for the end. 30-27 Woodley easy peasey.
* Tyron Woodley will now face Tarec Saffiedine for the Strikeforce Welterweight Championship that Nick Diaz vacated because he is better than all you bitches. 209.

Tim Kennedy defeats Robbie Lawler by Unanimous Decision. Tim looked for a couple of shots early but Lawler powerfully sprawls out of both. Robbie is very active on the feet but not throwing. Lawler looks like he is terrified jumping out of those takedown attempts. They war in the scramble but back to the feet but a really sharp shot by Kennedy gets us back to the mat. The "All-American" moves into mount but Robbie just pushes out and begins to swing wild. In round 2, Robbie lands a left uppercut that dropped Tim (maybe not since he was in mid-shot) and cut Kennedy across the nose but he gets top control when he finishes the takedown and begins the business. Lawler lands some elbows from his back but mainly its Tim doing the big work. “Ruthless” needs to let it all fly down 2 rounds but he still isn’t throwing! Tim looks tired and Robbies knees are continuing to be off the mark. Very little action until Tim takes Lawler down for the final seconds. 10-9 30-27 Kennedy
* There is nothing, I mean nothing more annoying than when a fighter who is obviously down on points, doesn’t show any offense, instead waiting for an opportunity that never comes. Sometimes you have to make your own opportunities Robbie. Tim then brings in a wounded war vet and talks about how important they are because I guess morons who sign up for war and then get their shit blown off are important. I knew enough to not sign up for illegal wars and thus I don't have hooks for fingers. Doesn't that make me smarter and who is this guy a hero for? Not me. Military people sign up for a job knowing full well what they are getting into. Any problem with the results are your own. I prefer not to kill people based upon lies created by old men who will never see a battlefield.

Miesha Tate defeats Marloes Coenen by Arm-Triangle choke submission in the 4th to become the new Women's Strikeforce Welterweight Champion! The "Alpha Female" almost caught Coenen in a Brabo Choke early but Marloes was able to escape the early trouble. Coenen struck back in the 2nd beating Tate on the floor and almost getting a RNC herself. Round 3 was kind of a stalemate with Miesha starting to wear down. Marloes starts hitting with the jab only to be taken down yet again. Coenen starts elbowing but leaves herself open and Tate moves across her locking in the tight submission forcing the Golden Glory product to tap for the 1st time in her career. "Fight Of The Night"
* I'll admit to being a fan of both women and was a little sad for Marloes though she will be back. Miesha Tate is now the queen of women's MMA until "Femborg" comes back or begins fighting men.

Dan Henderson defeats Fedor Emelianenko by TKO (sort of). Both men came out winging bombs and completely out of control. They slip slide around the cage as "Hendo" got hurt 1st, but snuck behind the frantic Russian and dropped him to the canvas with the "H-Bomb." Granted, Fedor landed flat like he was unconscious but he was not. Fedor rolled to his back and defending as Henderson is landing strong punches to the back of the head (illegal) and referee Herb Dean steps in and stops the fight! WTF! How can you not let a "Dream Bout" play itself out? Fedor was upset, "Hendo" was ecstatic, and the crowd was mixed.
* Quite a bargaining chip for Dan Henderson considering that was his last contracted fight. Get out your wallet Fertitas. The only sure thing is Dan is a walking "TRT" success story. Injections get you paid$.
** It was nice personally, to see Fedor Emelianenko a little miffed at the stoppage and Dana White can suck my dick. The "Last Emperor" will decide about "retirement" when he and his God are good and ready. I personally hope he comes back because I feel the fight has been taken out of his hands in the last two bouts. I would not be surprised if DFW cut Emelianenko much like he recently did the now former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem. No matter where his career ends in the states, I'm betting his true final bout will take place in mother Russia for M-1 Global.

7-3 on the picks. A special thanks to Tarec Saffiedine who helped MMAFO accumulate its 1,000th correct fight pick!
