MMA Melee: Busy Weekend News Round Up; UFC on Fox's Fight Card, Bout Announcements, & Hot Translators

Antonio Silva has a glass jaw. Daniel Cormier was but the 3rd man to deliver the evidence. In December of last year, Light Heavyweight Mike Kyle took on "Bigfoot" with little notice and dropped the Yeti in dramatic fashion. The referee extended the giant a ton of leeway allowing him to recover. Early in Sasquatch's career Eric Pele destroyed him in some promotion called Bodog. Sergei Kharitonov proved his refuses to learn any ground work but he did show up with hot Russian translator. Lets put the two together for a classic styles clash match up. Am I wrong or is translator's hand in a certain spot in the above picture which Sergei really seems to be enjoying?

19 months and career full of injuries did little to stop Luke Rockhold from coming from behind to take the Strikeforce Middleweight Championship. Pundits are calling for his 1st defense to come against Tim Kennedy but I'd rather Ronaldo Souza gets a rematch. "Jacare" was never out of the fight though he should have trained harder as evident by his continuing endurance problems. It was a close bout and the former champ will use the motivation to come back stronger as I'm sure Luke will return deadlier to defend his new gold. Makes for a compelling bout while Kennedy has already lost to "Jacare" and Tim is a douche bag.

Bellator's Welterweight Semi-Finals are set with Ben Saunders versus Luis Santos and Douglas Lima versus Chris Lozano. I gots "Killa-B" going all the way!

Pat Healy has gone 5-1 since moving down to Lightweight and Team Quest has him looking massive at the new weight. The size advantage against Maximo Blanco was glaring but watching "Bam Bam" rolling crucifix and then tap the cheating "Maxi" with the RNC was a thing of beauty!

I told your Frank Trigg's "return to form" was an apparition and don't forget Jim Wallhead didn't exactly look amazing and still got the win. "Twinkle Toes" is great for radio or commentary but the MMA game has passed him by. I got no problem with him collecting a check I'm just saying. BAMMA Champion Tom Watson would kill both of these guys.

Cung Le has officially signed with the UFC and will meet his demise in the form of Vitor Belfort at UFC 139. I'm no "Phenom" fan but Le's kicks aren't going to translate well to the UFC's Middleweight roster. I expect a quick KO loss and then back to making small appearances in crappy movies.

Kurt Pelligrino spent 5 minutes retired and is now signed with Bellator. Perhaps he wanted out of Zuffa thinking he could hang better in Bellator but he drew a tough 1st out facing Patricky Freire at their 59th event. Let's see if the Dark Knight Rises to the occasion (that pun was awful).

I lot of people are impressed with Mike Kyle's performance Saturday night but I'm baffled as to
why. De Lima was obviously far to green to be in there and what in Kyle's record makes you think he can beat anyone of note? He'll most likely draw Ovince St. Preux next and then we'll see a truer test.

Both "Nogs" have been tapped to fight on the same UFC 140 card marking the 1st time they have fought on the same card with Zuffa. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will face Tito Ortiz while Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will rematch Frank Mir. That's "Lil Nog" vs Tito and "Big Nog" vs Mir if the names confuse you.
