UFC on FX 3 Results: "Mighty Mouse," Pyle, & Erick Silva Win Big

Main Card
Demetrious Johnson defeats Ian McCall by Unanimous Decision in a frustrating fight. Ya gotta like "Uncle Creepy" coming out to Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare," and the 4th round finally begins a mere 3 months after the bout began.  "Mighty Mouse" was on his bike early confusing McCall who made a careless mistake and got dropped by a right hand.  Quickly back to the feet and Johnson continues using his movement to win the round.  In the 2nd, Ian scored the short takedown and staggered Demetrious with a fast combination.  Ian then gets a takedown followed by a suplex and then landed a spinning elbow!  Then things tighten up and things look very similar to the first meeting as we head to the 3rd.  "Mighty Mouse" gets the 1st takedown and keeps landing on the breaks.  Ian lands a knee but Johnson is landing more, and more often to sneak away with the rematch.  It feels like a robbery because of how the 1st meeting was playing out, but take in to account I don't like Johnson much.  He's a squeaky boring lil' guy and I just don't like fighters who flick and run.  Its just annoying, not entertaining but Joe "B-1 Kenobi" will handle this in the Flyweight Tournament Finale!

Erick Silva submits Charlie Brenneman by RNC at 4:33 of round 1.Charlie did his normal non-stop takedown attack, but Erick got more and more confident in defending it and making Brenneman pay for the attempts on the exit.  The “Spaniard” would stall out against the cage causing the referee to break them apart when he should have been working to avoid the restart at all costs.  Silva’s hands were disrespectfully low and he was wild enough to be taken down numerous times, but he had little trouble getting back to his feet.  Erick spread his body for a beautiful sprawl on a takedown attempt and as both men went to the mat, Silva took the back and sunk in the RNC for which Charlie defended oh so poorly. Erick's trainer Wallid Ismail liberally translated the post fight winner’s speech which was quite funny.

Mike Pyle KO'd Josh Neer at 4:53 of the very 1st round!  Mike came in with a haircut that would make Miguel Torres proud, but had some struggles with the always tough “Dentist.” “Quicksand” was controlling the fight early as he took things to the mat to try and gain the advantage.  Neer was very active off his back scoring and kneeing Pyle in his guard for the most part.  Back to the feet Mike got hurt by some well placed liver shots but when pressed against the fence he found the right moment, landing a right hand that made Neer dive into the mat face first, and the lesbian mullet has a emphatic one punch KO win in a very competitive albeit short, fight. "KO Of The Night"

Eddie Wineland KO'd Scott Jorgensen at the 4:10 mark of the 2nd round in an impressive Upset.  Ed gave Scotty a taste of his power early and often hurting Jorgensen on multiple occasions in the 1st 5 minutes.  In the 2nd, a more aggressive Scotty brought the fight to Ed and cut him open above the eye with a parting knee as blood poured down Wineland's face.  The former WEC champion didn't fade though and both men went to war standing toe to toe and striking with power shots that brought the crowd to their feet.  Then Eddie threw a double jab, right cross and the lights went out for Scott.  Impressive outing for Wineland who stays in the Bantamweight mix while Jorgensen takes a tough loss to his career.  After the bout Eddie said he wanted to fight again and he's, “just a cornfed hillbilly from Indiana and that’s how we get down.”  "Fight Of The Night"

Prelims (Fuel TV):
Mike Pierce defeats Carlos Eduardo Rocha by Split-Decision (30-27, 30-27, 27-30).  Nobody on Earth understands how a single judge gave all 3 rounds to Rocha in a bout in which he was dominated but in the end you won't care.  Pierce is just a joy to watch.  Exciting double leg takedowns.  Fully committed to his punches in guard.  Action against the fence.  That, or the opposite of everything I just said.  Yes his grappling based attack works, but nobody cares and if you aren’t good enough to take out everyone in your division with boring tactics like Ben Askren, then eventually you are going to get fired and fans will forget you, and never look for you to return.  Hope you enjoy the slow fade away Mike.  You are the epitome of an “also ran.”
Pierce is however 1-0 after making these comments: "Are there any Brazilians at 170 [or] did they all bump up to 185? Looking for an easy fight :) WANTED: no work ethic, no cardio, terrible striking and limited ground game. Brazilians, please send fight applications to (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva.  Sounds like the "Oregon Gangster" has found his funny bone.
Seth Baczynski defeats Lance Benoist by Split-Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29).
Matt Grice defeats Leonard Garcia by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Dustin Pague submits Jared Papazian by RNC in the 1st round.

Tim Means TKO's Justin Salas just over a minute into round 1. A perfect left hand hurt Salas as Means followed with a bevy of short punches that dropped Justin over and over again.  Tim then landed some nice Thai clinch knees dropping the obviously wounded opponent again before some G&P forced the referee to stop the action later than it should’ve been.

Buddy Roberts defeats Caio Magalhaes by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).
Prelims (Facebook):
Henry Martinez defeats Bernardo Magalhaes by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Sean Pierson defeats Jake Hecht by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

8-4 on the picks.
