UFC Fight Night 158 Cowboy vs. Gaethje: Fight Card, Odds, & Genius Predictables

September 14, 2019
Rogers Arena
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Main Card on ESPN+ (7pm/CT):
#4 Donald Cerrone +160 vs. #6 Justin Gaethje -185

"Dadboy" is now 36 and coming off a schllacking from Tony Ferguson. We've pretty much seen what we're gonna see from Cerrone at this point. He's always a dangerous and crafty veteran, but the years of damage are taking their toll.

"The Highlight" is just a crazy person. He just comes right for you and eats damage in order to give. It's quite entertaining even if it shortens his lifespan. Dude has good striking and is rather durable despite getting stopped in his 2nd & 3rd UFC outings.

These two fellas pretty much guarantee exciting and stellar MMA so tune in and enjoy the violence as "Cowboy" gets wrecked in dramatic fashion!

WiNNER-Justin Gaethje by Rd.2 TKO
Glover Teixeira -115 vs. Nikita Krylov -105

Glover just won't go away. We're not trying to be dicks here but Teixeira is good enough to take out the contenders but he can't win the big one. So we're kinda just spinning our wheels here.

"The Miner" is back in the UFC and has gone 1-1. The Ukrainian sub machine is a gunner as well (see what we did there?) and really has a shot at being a 205 contender but this win is a necessity.

Krylov's strengths lie in mat work but so do Teixeira's and when working the ground game, it's gonna be hard for Nikita to deal with the power. And like we mentioned before, this is kinda Glover's deal taking out prospects as if he's blocking for Jon "Christian Pussy Slapper" Jones. Damn everything.

Todd Duffee +105 vs. Jeff Hughes -125
Wait a sec, are we still doing the Todd Duffee thing?Todd Duffee is still in MMA? So, we haven't seen ol' Todd since 2015 when Frank Mir decimated him in one of Frank's best performances ever. He's an uber-jacked up physical freak an all but it's been 4 damn years!

"Light's Out" is getting a run in the UFC because he is training buddies with Stipe Miocic. That's about it.

No telling who wins this but if Todd has anything left in his toned yet fragile body, he should get a finish before disappearing again.

Upset Pick WiNNER-Todd Duffee by Rd.1 Flying Armbar

Antônio Carlos Júnior -250 vs. Uriah Hall +210

Antonio Carlos Coelho de Figueiredo Barbosa Junior (jesus what a name!) had a 5-fight winning streak snapped last out which really stunted his title contention efforts. Ol' "Shoe Face" is a submission master but striking is still the weakness.

MMAFO cannot stand Hall and we freely admit it. This guy is a fraud. He's always crying about respect he feels he deserves though he has never earned. He's got some flashy shit sure, but he quits fairly often in bouts when things aren't going his way and has terrible in-cage fight intelligence quotient.

If Antonio can get his hands on Uriah he's got a real shot at subbing this moron but Hall can pull crazy shit out of his ass at any time as well. Eh, we're rooting for Carlos so we're picking him too. Solid fight picking advice.

WiNNER-Antonio Carlos Jr. by Rd.1 Submission

Misha Cirkunov -115 vs. Jimmy Crute -105

Oh Cirky. We sang the praises of Misha but he keeps disappointing us. The Latvian has lost 3 of his last 4 all by 1st round (T)KO. Not a good look. Cirkunov is a big strong fella but rather robotic in his movements which is what keeps getting him into trouble.

Crute "The Brute" is undefeated but defeating (should be) Middleweight Sam Alves and shit show Paul Craig isn't very impressive. The Aussie is decently well rounded but still unproven.

We just can't back Misha anymore after we embarrassed ourselves continually pumping him up only to be let down. Let's ride with Jim and see what's what.

Upset Pick WiNNER-Jimmy Crute by Decision

Prelims on ESPN+ (4pm/CT):
Michel Pereira -600 vs. Tristan Connelly +450
The "Demolidor" is 1-0 in the UFC with a flying knee knockout. Homie is exciting as can be and is facing a not yet ready for primetime player who is coming in on a weeks notice. This is a showcase for Mitchy and should contain a crazy finish.

WiNNER-Michel Pereira by Rd.1 Sharpshooter

Marcin Tybura -120 vs. Augusto Sakai +100

"Tybur" is 4-4 in the UFC (how in the hell did he get so many bouts?) and there just isn't anything special about the guy.

Sakai may have bitch tits but he's got decent hands and should run game if'n he doesn't get the finish 1st.

Upset Pick WiNNER-Augusto Sakai by Rd.2 TKO

Cole Smith +110 vs. Miles Johns -130

The "0" must go! Two undefeateds meet to spice up the Bantamweight division.

El "Chapo" cut his teeth in LFA before passing the test that is the Contender series with that guy who we don't like to give press.

Meanwhile the Canadian "Cole Train" surprised in his May debut and who doesn't love a soulless ginger?

Upset Pick WiNNER-Cole Smith via Ginger Power!

Brad Katona -160 vs. Hunter Azure +140

Don't care moving on.

WiNNER-Brad Katona by Something

Chas Skelly +120 vs. Jordan Griffin -140

We hate to pick on Chas because we have always been hard on Chas as poor Chas is named Chas, but Chas. Chas has been doing the damn thing since '14 amassing a 6-4 record and even more injuries. It's coming apart now giving "The Native Psycho" room to take Chas' spot.

WiNNER-Jordan Griffin by Decision

Louis Smolka -235 vs. Ryan MacDonald +195

"Da Last Samurai" was a contender until he fell apart in '16. Smolka was "back in '17 and lost. Then Smolka was "back" in '19 and lost. Drinking, not drinking, training correctly now or not. What are we supposed to believe? Luckily for Louis, Mac isn't going to be much of a threat but MMAFO is tired of seeing Smolka do the same shit over and over.

WiNNER-Louis Smolka by Decision

Kyle Prepolec +115 vs. Austin Hubbard -135

Nobody important don't care.
