In odd news, even by Pride FC standards, Pride has announced that Ikuhisha "Punk" Minowa will face Butterbean August 27th at Bushido Survival. Pride loves to put their "Giant Killer," Minowa, against freaks (see his matches against, Giant Silva, Kimo, & Baroni, ect.). Minowa will give up near 200lbs. to the much fatter Butterbean. Minowa is the new sacrificial lamb now that Sakuraba has moved on to K-1. Not that Minowa will lose, he'll probably win. The story is how much punishment will his body take in the process. Sakuraba's body has worn down over the years after taking on much heavier fighters like Randleman, Cro Cop, Silva, and Kimo to name a few. Many in the MMA community feel Minowa is heading toward the same early deterioration.
Also on the card will be the 2nd round of the Middleweight tournament as well as exciting fighters Takanori Gomi, Ishida, and the debut of Gilbert Melendez and the return of Jason Black. -MMA Mafia
