Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia
Main Bouts (PPV):
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (32-5-1) vs. Cain Velasquez (7-0) There are holes in the game of the "man called Cain," but despite lacking submissions and elite striking, I am going to take him over "Big Nog" simply because after 38 brutal professional fights/wars, I don't believe "Minotauro" can hang with the young AKA standout for 15 minutes. Its not the same as banging with a 100 year old Randy Couture whom Nogueira almost put away twice in their bout. Antonio will be game winning early on the feet but unable to hurt the iron jaw of the upstart Cain, he will be taken down repeatedly. From there he will throw up submission attempts from his back but they will be for nought as he plays defense for 3 rounds and Velasquez out points him to an upsetting victory.
WINNER-Cain Velasquez by Decision
Wanderlei Silva (32-10-1) vs. Michael Bisping (18-2) I don't have this overwhelming hate for the "Count" as the rest of the world does. I actually think he's pretty smart but fuck anyone who goes up against the "Axe Murderer!" If you think I'm going to pick against Wand you are sadly mistaken. Silva will take punishment as always, but he is coming to die (the only way he knows how to fight) and Bisping is going to get hurt. It's old school Chute Boxe style all the way as Wanderlei blitzes Mike early and often and if I had 2 broken legs I would still stand by this pick!

Joe Stevenson (31-10) vs. George Sotiropoulos (11-2) An Aussie on the main card is a must and as a big fan of George I like his progression, but now he is going to be down under his head against a "Daddy" who can best him about everywhere. Neither man's striking is a Mona Lisa painting, but Joey has big power he just can't reach you. Stevenson has a better gas tank, stronger submissions, superior wrestling, and has fought at a much higher level than Sotiropoulos who needs a nickname so I can avoid typing out his ridiculously hard name. This will be a great learning experience for the "Man At Work" (just an idea George) but too much for now. G'day.

WINNER-Joe "Daddy" by Rd.3 TKO
Keith Jardine (15-6-1) vs. Ryan Bader (10-0) Oh the "Dean Of Mean" is at a severe career crossroads coming off back to back losses for the 1st time in his career and finding himself a paltry 6-5 in the UFC. "Darth" Bader has been a decent TUF surprise but is definitely stepping up a level in competition. With Jardine having a questionable chin at best, and Ryan the superior amateur wrestling ability to take him down over and over again, I really don't see Jardine's vaunted leg kicks keeping Bader at bay for 3 rounds. Watch the wrestler begin to emerge as a possible force in the Light Heavy division.

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (25-7-2) vs. Anthony Perosh (10-5) Ben Rothwell has dropped out of the fight due to a fear of the old Cro Cop's imminent return, and the "Hippo" steps in to represent the "Land Down Under" and then gets put in it. Tony is a ground guy with 7 submission wins on his record which you might think could be bad for Mirko, but he has also flirted with the UFC where he lost to the below average Christian Wellisch and the respectable Jeff Monson. If there is any, and I mean any life left in the body of Cro Cop, he should be sending Perosh either to the hospital (right head kick) or the morgue (left head kick).

Prelims:
Elvis Sinosic (8-11-2) vs. Chris Haseman (20-16) *The "King Of Rock N' Rumble" has sustained a shoulder injury and is out of this bout which looks to be cancelled at this point with no replacement.*
Stephan Bonnar (11-6) vs. Krzysztof Soszynski (18-9-1) The "American Psycho's" star never really rose like Forrest Griffin's and many are questioning whether or not Stephan really belongs in the UFC after losing back to back and hitting .500 with a 5-5 Zuffa record. Losing to Mark Coleman his last time out is simply unacceptable while the "Polish Experiment" is getting better with his improving MMA game under Team Quest's tutelage. Neither man is going to remind you of Muhammad Ali on the feet, but at least Krzysztof has power and the submissions Boner is supposed to have.

Chris Lytle (27-17-5) vs. Brian Foster (13-4) Foster has emerged out of the HitSquad as a prospect while putting away Brock Larson with extreme prejudice his last time out. "Lights Out" is always game for a war as he returns from knee surgery, but Brian's lightening quick takedowns are going to spell trouble for Lytle who looked bigger than I thought he would at the weigh-ins. I wanna take an Upset Pick here but, erring on the side of a gritty veteran who has seen many wars, is kinda the theme of the night.

Goran Reljic (8-0) vs. C.B. Dollaway (9-2) I've got no love for the Arizona wrestler but the UFC is trying their damnest to keep him employed against sub-par fighters. Now finally a Croation comes to shut him down for good. Come to daddy on the floor as Reljic clamps down on the frat boy douche for a dominant tapout victory.

Igor Pokrajac (21-6) vs. James Te Huna (12-4) This might be the time at the event to take in the sights of Australia and all its beauty. See the outback or search for a kangaroo. Perhaps peruse the great barrier reef or indulge your ears at the Sydney Opera House. Just don't waste your time watching this bout.
