Cain Velasquez should be the #1 contender. "Brown Pride" has won 5 straight since entering the UFC (7-0 overall) and demolished sturdy top contender Antonio Nogueira like he was Jonathan Goulet. The #1 contender ship is going to be contested between Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. Mir has won 1 in a row after attacking Brock Lesnar's face with his hand and Carwin is 3-0 in the UFC (11-0 overall) but besides besting Gabriel Gonzaga, he hasn't fought anyone of any worth. The man called Cain fought against the durables Jake O'Brien, Cheick Kongo, and Ben Rothwell before throttling the legend of "Minotauro." Also, Shane Carwin has not fought in a damn year people! "Big Nog" can do what he wants from here on out as he begins to follow Randy Couture on the retirement tour and then the "Hall Of Fame."

Wanderlei Silva, who is now forever doing his Josh Burkman impression since the plastic surgery, will always be watchable and people will love him for his heart, but where was the aggressiveness? He was said to be bringing back "old" Wanderlei but looked tentative against Michael Bisping only bringing the blitzkrieg at the end of rounds 2 and 3. Those short arms do cause a lunging aspect Silva will probably never get away from but perhaps he has learned a little patience which might prolong his fight career a bit. The "Axe Murderer" will not contend for a title again in his career, but I bet he notches up at least 1 more victory when he faces Yoshihiro Akiyama next.

Mirko Cro Cop looked very confident and actually interested in what he was doing for the 1st time since entering the UFC. He even attented the post fight press conference which is just shocking. Maybe the cat has turned the corner mentally, but he still holds those hands closed together not protecting his chin, and he'll never develop that ground game no matter how much he works with Fabricio Werdum. Much like Silva he can fight as long as he wants with his large fan base, but a title may be a DREAM. Ben Rothwell will be up again as long as he doesn't get another tummy ache i.e. shitting his pants in fear.

Chris Lytle is one tough and exciting motherfucker. The guy has won a fight bonus of some sort

7 freaking times (1 Knockout, 2 Submission and 4 Fight of the Nights) and will fight as often as you let him. I guess losing TUF wasn't such a big deal after all and how about settling things with a Matt Serra rematch? Or if you just want the gritty wars Lytle is known for, Carlos Condit, Martin Kampmann, or "Killa-B" Ben Saunders.

George Sotiropoulos is the hero of Australia and ya’ll better recognize! I told people at the end of TUF that this kid had a bright future ahead and here it comes. Joe Stevenson is going to always have a job but returning to title contention will be a heroes journey. I also could not help but notice Joe "Daddy" seemed so smiley and cheery that just maybe he took George a bit too lightly. Mac Danzig, Sam Stout, Gleison Tibau, or Kurt Pellegrino would all make sense for Sotiropoulos who is in desperate need of a nickname.

George is here but Keith Jardine should be gone. C’mon, the guy isn’t that good but was always solid. Now his betraying chin has taken that and the man will find work in Strikeforce or Japan. 3 losses in a row and a 6-6 UFC record and he has been blacked out 5 times in his career 4 of them in the UFC and 2 in a row. I doubt seriously he gets cut but a serious layoff is in order. Ryan Bader doesn't impress me much. Learn some cardio and striking and we'll talk. Yes I said striking after you got a KO win.

Yes we all heard Stephan Bonnar will never be cut according to Dana White and his loss to Krzystof should be ruled a NC due to headbutt, but its going to get awkward when the "American Psycho" drops 5 in a row and the questions get louder. Krzysztof Soszynski looked alright but obviously we need a rematch here.

Igor Pokrajac should be the only unemployed fighter from this card since Anthony Perosh is guaranteed another shot for taking on Cro Cop on 2 days notice. Lots o' heart there and I look forward to the "Hippo's" return.
