Rob Kimmons defeats Steve Steinbeiss by Unanimous Decision mercifully putting Stephen out of the UFC by Monday.
Charles Oliveira got the Armbar Submission win over Darren Elkins just 41 seconds into their bout. Darren picked up Charles and slammed him though that landed Elkins in an immediately dangerous triangle choke. Olive wasn't satisfied and also locked in an armbar which would cause the tapout. The Brazilian known as “do Bronx,” has served notice to the Lightweight Division that he is here and still undefeated. "Submission Of The Night"
Brian Stann locked in the Triangle Choke on Mike Massenzio deep into the final round of the fight. The Middleweight move was a success (kinda) though Stann was simply surviving the 1st two rounds on his back. Finally, he hurt Mike with a strike (rhymed) and was taken down again but the pain allowed a moment for Brian to put on the submission and steal a victory at the last moment. The "All-American" didn't look much improved at the new weight though he told Joe Rogan, "I am ready to take on anyone in the division." Greg Jackson has got a lot of work to do and it begins with takedown defense!
Igor Pokrajac defeats the hapless James Irvin with the RNC Submission midway through round 1. I don't know what to say except the "Sandman" has absolutely no business in the UFC. The cat has thunderously powerful hands, and proved will all certainty that will never be enough in today's MMA game. Igor isn't exactly going to set the world on fire either.
Matt Riddle actually TKO'd DaMarques Johnson for his 1st, and quite possibly last time. I don't care except I'm praying Zuffa cuts both anyway.
Jacob Volkmann defeated Paul Kelly by Unanimous Decision. "Christmas" finally brought that wrestling dominance he was supposed have all along. I'm actually pretty shocked "Tellys" dropped this bout but what can ya do?
Takanori Gomi KO's Tyson Griffin! The south paw Gomi plants "Mini-Tyson" on the mat with a sleep inducing right hand a mere minute 4 into the initial round. I’ll be the 1st to say I thought Gomi was “done” but it looks like that may be a bit premature. The always durable Griffin was stopped for the 1st time in his career and argued about the stoppage though he was out cold and staggered badly when he tried to return to his feet! At least Tyson refused to shake hands or hug Takanori who was trying to be a good sport in front of the ignorant crowd that of course chanted “U-S-A, U-S-A!” like the sheep they are. The “Fireball Kid” is back and Griffin just dropped back to back fights in the UFC for the 1st time in his career and should look to drop down to 145 in the WEC. But he won’t. Who needed that win more? Takanori Gomi, or the MMA fans of Japan? "Knockout Of The Night"
Yushin Okami defeats Mark Munoz by a razor close Split-Decision. "Thunder" took a bit to get going as Munoz shot in for takedown after takedown though almost all were blocked. Mark was landing better on the feet in the 1st round but then Okami began to close that gap during the 2nd until he caught a right hand on the jaw and dropped to the canvas! I have never seen Yushin get hit like that but he recovered though losing the round in the process. In the last round, a right hook from "Thunder" wobbles Munoz but the straight right put Mark down. The Philippine survived the night but did not get his hand raised as the judges actually made the right decision. Well, 2 of them did. Before the bout Dana White said, "I think it's time this guy gets a title shot; he's been here a long time." He does deserve it but Vitor Belfort would sell more PPV's which sucks but is true. I'm not going to hold my breath. "Fight Of The Night"

Jake Ellenberger defeats John Howard by TKO (Doctor Stoppage). Every time "Doomsday" began to land some big strikes, Ellen would shoot in with a beautiful takedown and dry hump him until Herb Dean found himself about to fall asleep. At one point in the 2nd, Jake dropped an elbow that made Jon’s left eye close and then expand into a massive bad black eye (no pun intended). It was absolutely huge and nasty and it was obvious Howard could not find his range anymore with one eye. The doctors came in and stopped the fight making the correct decision for the fighter. If you did not see this fight, you're lucky, but look up John Howard's swollen eye on the Internet.

Finally, Jon Jones makes quick work of Vladimir Matyushenko, winning by TKO in the very 1st round. "Bones" lands a spinning back-kick and trips the "Janitor" to the floor where he drops 10 rapid fire elbows forcing the referee's hand. Once Jones locked Maty in the crucifix, he had zero defense and the frustration was evident. There has to be a large step up in the Light Heavyweight division for Jon now. Most of the big names in the division are locked in to fights right now but that will shake out in the coming months while Jones observes and continues to get better.
7-3 on the picking though I couldn't be happier to be wrong about the "Fireball Kid!"
