Ultimate Fight Night 68 Results: 10 Finishes In A Night of Highlights!

Fox Sports 1 Main Card Results
Dan Henderson KO’d Tim Boetsch via Strikes at 0:28 of the 1st round!

Well, "Hendo" did it again. The "Barbarian" charged in but that "H-Bomb" connected followed by a good knee and an uppercut that just wiped out Boetsch. Henderson denies father time yet again and there is zero chance he retires. Just crazy fun shit!

BEN REAPER
Ben Rothwell submitted Matt Mirione by Guillotine Choke (& panic tap) at 1:54 of the very 1st round.

Where to begin? Should we start with Ben awkwardly entering the arena draped in a villainous cloak? Mitrione doing well striking and then inexplicably shooting in for a takedown from far too great a distance and panic tapping to the instant choke? Or Rothwell cutting the absolute worst post fight promo in MMA history?

“Let me tell you what that is: That’s actions that speak louder than words,” Rothwell told commentator Jon Anik after the event. “And mixed martial artist as you once knew, I am no more. I am something completely different.”
“Only politics can slow me I don’t much left to say other than you have seen nothing yet! Muahahaha!”
And yes, Ben did let out a maniacal laugh as he raised his hand into the air to complete the self humiliation.
Matt said Monday on the MMA Hour that he was taking Ben very seriously and would not make the same mistake he did against Brendan Schaub. Mitrione then went out and did exactly what he said he would not. We are baffled and have no idea what to say. That was one of the worst mid-fight decisions we have ever seen ranking up there alongside Cat Zingano. Just awful.
No matter how many times MMAFO picks Ben to lose and he wins, we will not consider him a title contender and shake our heads at the state of the Heavyweight division.
Dustin Poirier TKO’d Yancy Medeiros via Strikes at 2:38 of the 1st round to continue to look reborn at Lightweight!
The "Diamond" continues to shine at 55's as he unloaded beautiful strike after strike just annihilating Medeiros who it should be noted, missed weight for this contest. Poirier looks like an absolute killer right now and it was a great scene in his hometown! "Performance of the Night (MVP)"

Brian Ortega TKO’d Thiago Tavares by Strikes after a long grueling bout at 4:10 of the 3rd and final round.

What a savage brutish fight this was! Ortega opened a huge gash on the forehead of Tavares yet the savvy veteran was able to fight through the blood and make a comeback to win the 2nd round. In the final five, the men were back and forth in an absolute war with both men covered in gore. Ortega rocked Thiago with a 1-2 combo and eventually took full mount reigning down the abuse. The referee mercifully stopped the carnage as both men lay recovering. What a fight! "Fight of the Night"

Anthony Birchak KO’d Joe Soto into a living death at 1:37 of the 1st round!

A right hook floored Soto initially but as Joe rose to his feet he was met with crashing elbows until he fell facedown completely unconscious.

Francisco Rivera KO’d Alex Caceres with Punches  0:21 into round 1!

A clean left hook destroyed "Bruce Leeroy" who fell to the mat only to incur more of Rivera's wrath. Damn son! "KO of the Night"

FOX Sports 1 Prelim Results
Shawn Jordan TKO’d Derrick Lewis via Reverse Hook Kick and Strikes at 0:48 of the 2nd round.

A reverse hook kick cracked the fatigued jaw of Lewis who crumbled to the canvas. Jordan took full mount and blasted to earn his 2nd win over Derrick.

Omari Akhmedov TKO’d Brian Ebersole after Ebersole “retired” due to a Knee injury after the 1st round.

Brian retired from the fight due to a knee injury and then promptly retired from the sport of MMA at 34 years of age. "Bad Boy" fought professionally 70 times (!) winning 51 of those bouts. A very nice career and all the best to Brian "Hairrow" Ebersole in the future!

Chris Wade defeated Christos Giagos by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).

Wrestling 101 over and over again.

Joe Proctor submitted Justin Edwards by Guillotine Choke at 4:58 of the 3rd round.

As predicted, a flurry of strikes and then one of the tightest chokes you will ever see to end this one. "Submission of the Night"

UFC Fight Pass Prelim Results
Jake Collier defeated Ricardo Abreau by Split Decision  (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

Jose Quinonez tapped Leonardo Morales via RNC at 2:34 of the 1st round.

An embarrassing 4-8 on the picks for the worst prediction record we have had in many years. Yeesh!
