Okay we get it. The UFC wants to secure the Mexican market so they're pumping useless TUF shows and finales into the region to try and drum up interest. The problem is, these fighters are NOT very good and UFC Fight Night 78 was dreadful. This was a horrendous evening if you watched things live as the UFC spaced out bouts over the span of 37 hours with abysmal results. Terrible. On to the pointless results.
UFC Fight Night 78 Main Card
Neil Magny Upset Kelvin Gastelum via Split Decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47).
Who would've thunk that Magny would be able to out grapple Gastelum? Huh. At any rate Neil gets a huge boost to his career while still lacking any true potent finishing ability.
Kelvin is now 1-2 as of late but at least he had a successful weight cut so there's that. Gastelum is not looking like a world beater anymore.
Ricardo Lamas defeated Diego Sanchez by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
Ricardo Lamas defeated Diego Sanchez by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
Well this was fun to watch. Lamas beat the shit outta Diego which is always great to see. Ricardo's destroyed Sanchez's leg and just battered the fool. This was as one sided as it gets and yet MMAFO was still scared the idiot judges would give the damn thing to Diego.
Lamas stays true in the Top 10 while Sanchez needs to retire. Yes!
Henry Cejudo defeated Jussier da Silva via Split Decision (30-27, 28-29, 30-27).
Henry Cejudo defeated Jussier da Silva via Split Decision (30-27, 28-29, 30-27).
Cejudo is most likely the #1 contender to Flyweight Champion "Mighty Mouse" but Henry couldn't finish a can of soda. Of course, "Formiga" is tough as nails and a good fighter but Cejudo's stellar wrestling and decent boxing technique aren't going to bother Demetrious Johnson much. "Fight of the Night"
Erick Montano defeated Enrique Marin by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) to become the TUF Latin America Season 2 Welterweight winner.

Whoop dee-do.
Enrique Barzola defeated Horacio Gutierrez by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26) to become the TUF Latin America Season 2 Lightweight winner.

"El Fuerte" is awiight.
Leandro Silva defeated Efrain Escudero via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
Leandro Silva defeated Efrain Escudero via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
"Buscape" was better standing than Efrain and that is that.
Prelims on Fox Sports 1
Erik Perez defeated Taylor Lapilus by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
Erik Perez defeated Taylor Lapilus by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
"El Goyito" held sway over Lapilus after starting a bit slow. Taylor had no answer when he was taken down which is strange since he was so good at getting back to his feet prior.
Bartosz Fabinski defeated Hector Urbina via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27).
Bartosz Fabinski defeated Hector Urbina via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27).
The Pole dominated Urbina on the ground for the full 15.
Alejandro Perez TKO'd Scott Jorgensen via Leg Injury and the bout was stopped at 4:26 of the 2nd round.
Andre Fili TKO'd Gabriel Benitez at 3:13 of the opening round.

"Touchy" ftw.
Prelims on UFC Fight Pass
Alvaro Herrera Ho TKO'd Vernon Ramos a mere 0:30 into the fight.
Alvaro Herrera Ho TKO'd Vernon Ramos a mere 0:30 into the fight.
Herrera’s right uppercut followed by a right hook planted Ho face first to the ground!
Polo Reyes KO'd Cesar Arzamendia at 3:42 of the very 1st round.
“Marco” Polo landed the left hook the disconnected Arzamendia and that was that! "TKO of the Night"
Michel Prazeres defeated Valmir Lazaro by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) in a bad judges rendering.
Prazeres just ate the jab all night and Valmir employed good takedown defense which left lil’ Michael unable to generate any offense. Both men got very tired in a bad bout. Somehow, the idiot judges gave the fight to “Trator” in a bizarre decision.
8-5 on the picks.
