Royce Gracie "defeated" Ken Shamrock via Groin Strike at 2:22 of the opening round.
Just when you thought things couldn't get worse for ole Kenny Sham-Sham. The battle of the elders began and it was the 1990's all over again as Royce came out flicking his lead leg like a jab trying to gauge distance for the inevitable shot. However, the seniors clinched up and Gracie delivered the greatest of all equalizers, a knee shot to the nuts, and down goes Shamrock (for the the now 11th time). Ken was busy trying to puts his sac back in its proper position and Royce just continued to follow up with his pillow fist punches forcing the blind referee to stop the fight thus enraging Shamrock. Its not as though the referee was out of position, but he still completely missed the low blow and Ken did nothing to dissuade the stoppage as he ate punches like he has done so many times before.
Afterthoughts:
And so, nothing is settled in the 3rd meeting between the two legends and Shamrock walks away mortified and no doubt unable to walk away from MMA on his own terms. The ultra-smug Royce laughs the whole situation away an undeserved winner yet again.
Royce Gracie did not get his hands taped for the bout which MMAFO didn't even know was allowed. Well, it is Texas though. Never seen that in the modern era.
Both Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie were only contracted for a single fight so they prolly won't be back in Bellator. However, Ken is trying to line up a potential fight with fellow oldie Dan Severn and his mustache in the future.
It doesn't get any better in the co-main and in fact, it gets worse. Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson and "Dada 5000" came out and gave the most horrendous MMA showing of the modern era! It took all of 10 seconds for these men to gas out and then the rest of the way was embarrassment. "Kimbo" landed a few punches but neither man did much. "Slicer" got the takedown he wanted and defy moved into full mount showing off the grappling skills he has learned over the years at ATT. "Kimbo" then remained on top of Harris, completely exhausted, and unable to even issue some G&P. This scene played out in the 2nd round as well and the end mercifully came in the final round.
"Dada 5 Bucks" was barely able to get off the stool and as "Slice" whiffed on a big punch, the power of the wind blew Harris across the cage as he collapsed like King Hippo in Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Pathetic.
Afterthoughts:
So, what does one do with "Kimbo Slice" now? At 42, Ferguson isn't going to improve and after this performance its obvious that Kevin can't even compete with the worst Heavyweights in Bellator. The answer is... Justin Wren. The "Good Viking" got another win and a "name" like "Kimbo Slice" is just what he needs to get more attention and bring light and water to the good people of the Congo. Book it, make it happen. Then Wren can get some notoriety with the "w" and hopefully bring more money to http://www.water4.org/fightfortheforgotten
But what about poor "Dada 5000" said his three fans? Now Dhafir Harris faces the toughest battle of his life... diabetes.
Its interesting to know that a lot of "big bets" came in late for "Dada 5000" in Vegas and some proprietors even closed the books based upon this odd turn of events. Strange.
Derek Campos TKO'd Melvin Guillard via Punches at 0:32 of the 2nd round.
Bwahahahahahahaha! MMAFO cannot stop laughing as we watch the Guillard and his career completely fall apart! The cocky Melvin is now 3-8-1 as of late and is now 0-2 in Bellator. What a loser! Campos is now off the snide and good on ya fella for taking this bit of human garbage to the refuse!
Linton Vassell defeated Emanuel Newton by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 29-27, 29-27) in their Rematch.
We're calling it now. The fall of the "Hardcore Kid" is coming and coming fast. You had a nice run Emanuel, but the world is about to catch up to you. Nothing against Newton, but his title reign ain't comin' back any time soon. Vassell gets a lackluster win but a necessary nod nonetheless. Now he can go on to be a non-factor.
Emanuel Sanchez defeated Daniel Pineda via Split Decision (29-28, 29-27, 28-29).
Prelim Resuts:
Justin Wren defeated Juan Torres by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
Now the "Good Viking" can get a big payday for charity and himself by facing "Kimbo Slice" in the near future.
Isaac Villanueva TKO'd Richard Knepp via Punches at 0:42 of the initial round.
Jeremy Mahon TKO'd Davis Sylvester with Punches at 4:22 of the 2nd round.
Adrian Yanez defeated Ryan Hollis via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
Jason Langellier submitted Anthony Ivy by Anaconda Choke at 2:09 of the very 1st round.
Mike Trinh submitted Angel Zamorra via Armbar at 3:49 of the 1st round.
C.J. Hancock submitted Ruben Esparza by RNC at 1:26 of the 3rd round.
Manny Lopez submitted Jacob Norsworthy via Guillotine Choke at 2:33 of the opening round.
* Finally, video is making the rounds of Tito Ortiz and Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal getting into a verbal altercation. This is how "Mo" do as he sets himself up for another easy payday if "Frito" doesn't have a broken neck or whatever bullshit injury he wants to create to stay away from an ass whooping.
9-3 on the picks.
