UFC Fight Night 86 Results: A Fun Night In Zagreb!

MAIN CARD Results:

Junior Dos Santos defeated Ben Rothwell by Unanimous Decision (50-45 3x) in a boxing exhibition.

Don't bury "JDS" yet, he's not dead! The sweet hearted Brazilian showed his technical boxing prowess moving beautifully and touching up Rothwell with constant body shots and strikes. The ATT camp really had dos Santos prepared and he looked patient, confident, and didn't get his face marked up which is a new plus.

Ben never got into the fight though he did poke "JDS" in the eye twice because he can't seem to keep his damn hands closed (MMAFO pet peeve). The "Dark Lord" was just too slow and those body shots may have prevented him from attempting the takedown to get some grappling going.

The Heavyweight shuffle continues and a Junior dos Santos versus Andrei Arlovski bout makes perfect sense.

Derrick Lewis KO’d Gabriel Gonzaga via Strikes at 4:48 of the opening round.

"Napao" was able to take Lewis down but Derrick was able to scramble to his feet as Gonzaga only pressed him against the cage with little else planned. The referee separated the men and the "Black Beast" came out unleashing rights and lefts that collapsed Gabriel.

Lewis says he's coming for the title but he's got a lot of work to do. Even so, he's fun to watch and a rather amusing guy. Derrick knows how to play the game.

Francis Ngannou TKO’d Curtis Blaydes (Doctor’s Stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 2.

Blaydes has a chin for sure but the continual power landed by Ngannou closed Curtis' right eye and he was not allowed to continue. Credit the blind Blaydes for trying to reach up to the doctor who was holding up fingers for him to count, and trying to feel them to continue the fight. Funny stuff.

For the post fight interview the UFC's translator was unable to understand Francis which was funny in itself, but then Ngannou's corner man came in to decipher the speech and he was unintelligible completing the circus.

Tim Johnson defeated Marcin Tybura by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).

Jan Blachowicz defeated Igor Pokrajac via Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).

Maryna Moroz defeated Cristina Stanciu by Unanimous Decision (30-27 3x) and we had a wardrobe malfunction!

The beautiful Moroz gave the Internet something to look for as her top came down and exposed her feminine wiles. The camera was at the wrong angle but you know the keyboard warriors out there will find the picture we all want to see.

Maryna was tested by Cristina but Stanciu faded as the fight progressed. A solid win for Moroz as we await the photo from the UGers (what up gang).

Fox Sports 1 Prelim Results:

Zak Cummings Upset Nicolas Dalby via Unanimous Decision (30-27 3x).

"Springfield" bringing the left hands all the way across the globe along with his superior grappling. Zak now up to 4-1 for Zuffa.

Called it. Wearing moronic sunglasses apparently doesn't help you fight

Alejandro Perez defeated Ian Entwistle by Verbal Submission (to Strikes) at 4:04 of the very 1st round.

Ian went for the submissions immediately and then immediately complained to the ref that Alejandro was greased. No such luck from the referee who lets them continue

Entwistle went for the scissors takedown (which MMAFO learned in Sanshou) but was stuffed and then Ian ate a few punches before rolling into a bevy of heel hook and leg lock attempts. Perez battled through them all landing punches on the unprotected Entwistle in the meanwhile. Alejandro then got top position and began landing strikes and Ian verbally tapped like a bitch!

We're sorry and all due respect to all MMA fighters, but submitting to strikes just isn't done and they weren't that dramatic anyway. Ian complained his opponent was greased and quit all in the span of a single round. Not a good showing and we won't forget.

Perez stretched out his feet, then his legs, and stood up like a stud.

Entwistle took to Twitter to continue complaining like a lil' cunt.

Mairbek Taisumov TKO’d Damir Hadzovic via Uppercut at 3:44 of the initial round.

4 dead on right hands, a left or 2, and then a brutal uppercut and that was all she wrote. Let's give Mairbek a little more competition next out, yes?

Damian Stasiak submitted Filip Pejic with the Rear-Naked Choke at 2:16 of the 1st round.

Jesus. Damian Maia Jr. just ran game on Filip like it was nothing. Attack. Hooks. Submission. Done. "Submission of the Night"

UFC Fight Pass Prelim Results:

Pretty good as it turns out.

Lucas Martins defeated Robert Whiteford by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27).

Maybe Martins was being careful needing a win here, but he sure wasn't the vicious attacker we expected. This is one to skip.

Robert talked a little shit on Twitter after the weigh-ins but couldn't back it up.

Jared Cannonier KO’d Cyril Asker via Strikes at 2:24 of Round uno.

Jared sprawled a single time and dropped Cyril with a left hook before pouncing with just nasty ass elbows that ended this with impact. "(T)KO of the Night"

Bojan Velickovic defeated Alessio Di Chirico by Unanimous Decision (29-28 2x, 30-27).

Di Chricico shot in for a takedown only to have Velickovic grab his arm from bottom, sweep into top position, and wrench Alessio's arm back making one think his limb was going to tear from the socket before our eyes! The round ending bell saved Di Chirico. "Fight of the Night"

This was a back and forth bout and could have easily gone either way. The variety of the judges scorecards was baffling.

9-4 on the picks and as always we send much love and respect to one of MMAFO's favorite fighters of all time, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic who was in attendance in his homeland!
