Jimi Manuwa KO's Corey Anderson with a single Left Hook at 3:05 of the very 1st round!
Yeah, its all in the headline. A short left hook and Anderson was unconscious on the floor!
"Lion's eat 1st!" said Jimi Manuwa who wants a title shot or a fight with professional boxer David Haye!
Gunner Nelson submitted Alan Jouban via Guillotine Choke at 0:46 of the 2nd round.
The Viking horde were chanting loudly as "Gunni" landed a right hand rocked Alan. A kick to the face of Jouban and Nelson follows the wounded foe to the mat with a guillotine choke forcing the quick tapout. "Submission of the Night"
Marlon Vera KO'd Brad Pickett with a Head Kick to spoil the retirement party of the Britain.
Brad Pickett made his final walk to the Octagon in trilby and braces while reading the newspaper. Classic.
Commentator and fellow countryman Dan Hardy said it best, “He’ll be a fan favorite forever!”
Vera landed a few leg kicks but Pickett got a double-leg in deep and lifted up Marlon for a slam. Back to the feet and Vera is landing leg kicks and a high knee. A flying knee attempt and Brad drops Marlon with a short left hand but he recovers quickly. Short elbows from Vera as Pickett lands a body shot. A good left lands for Brad and then a punch behind Marlon’s ear in the closing seconds.
The 2nd begins, and the shorter Pickett is having trouble with the long leg kicks from Vera. Another takedown slam from the Brit who begins to land elbows from Vera’s guard. The English crowd begins to chant and cheer while Marlon lands an illegal heel strike, but only gets a warning. Right hand for Brad and later a nice head kick from Vera. Pickett lands a knee in close as the round expires.
Its the final round for Brad Pickett and he promptly eats 3 right hands. The kicks are coming for Vera but the old man lands a couple of strikes himself. Leg kicks from Marlon and a knee to the body. Uppercut from Brad lands on the chin but “Chito” is busier. Left hand again from Pickett but a big head kick drops Brad followed by a right hand on the mark and the referee is forced to step in. Pickett stands up quickly but is on shaky legs.
Brad goes to the fence in disappointment but in a nice show of respect, Vera comes over to console him. An absolute shame as Pickett takes the center of the Octagon to hear the result fighting back the tears. Vera says “Brad is a fucking legend in this sport,” and begins to tear up himself.
Brad Pickett hugs his opponent and shakes the hand of Dan Hardy as the crowd erupts with cheers! Hardy states, “It doesn’t matter what happened mate. You went out on your shield like the Brad Pickett we all know and love.”
“You guys are fans but you're not fans to me, you're friends!” said Brad after the bout.
Pickett leaves the trilby hat in the cage and retires a pioneer and legend. Thank you to Mr. Brad “One Punch” Pickett for all you gave to the sport. Thank you sir!
The MMAFO staff are not ashamed as some tears are shed.
Arnold Allen defeated Amirkhani by Unanimous Decision (30-27 2x, 28-29).
“Mr. Finland” predicted a win in 60 seconds which he really needed to succeed as he began to fade in the 2nd round. Amirkhani showed his confidence is truly arrogance as Allen defeated him with grappling skill. Conor McGregor he is not! This was a really fun ground contest as the men showed tons of different looks and submission attempts. "Fight of the Night"
It was rather cringy post fight as “Triple A” whined to commentator Dan Hardy to tell him how to get his own British crowd to like him. Yeesh. How about not begging for love in awkward fashion? Patience young Jedi.
Joseph Duffy defeated Reza Madadi by Unanimous Decision (30-27 3x) in an absolute rout!
Madadi got a sneaky trip takedown early and as Duffy escaped back to his feet, Reza lifted and slammed Joe down but “Irish” used the momentum to roll into top position. From there, Duffy dropped a couple of brutal elbows that opened a cut on the “Purse Snatcher’s” head which poured blood.
“Irish” Joe came out boxing in the 2nd with the most beautiful quick snap jab you’ll see in MMA as blood streamed down the face of the “Handbag Thief.” Madadi called Duffy on to fight and he obliged mixing up his kicks (high & low) while rolling his shoulders and showcasing his stellar boxing. Reza was struggling to see through all the blood on his face with 2:30 to go in the 2nd round as a tight short knee lands for Joe. Madadi got a momentary takedown but Duffy got right back upend landed a combination of punches while wearing his opponents blood.
The final round began with Joe working a body combination and bringing that short knee again. The men pummeled against the fence until they separate allowing Duffy to graze the head of Madadi with a question mark kick. “Irish” Joe begins styling in the Octagon working punches and kicks to the head and body , landing that knee yet again, and popping Reza’s head up with an uppercut.
It was a showcase win for Joseph Duffy who shut out Madadi and now goes into free agency with a new win on the resume.
* A special Fuck You to the UFC for putting Joe Duffy on the sidelines for 7 months simply because he wanted to test the free agent market like a reasonable athlete. We kind of hope “Irish” Joe goes to Bellator just because of the way the UFC is treating its employees.
Francimar Barroso defeated Darren Stewart by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).
Stewart caught Barroso by surprise with a perfect level change into a takedown to begin things. Francimar found his game in the 2nd securing multiple takedowns seemingly at will, while sapping the energy of Darren. Stewart had nothing left to give in the final round and the Brazilian wins the grudge rematch.
Timothy Johnson defeated Daniel Omielanczuk by Split Decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28).
It was your typical lower big heavy fight with Daniel showing fast hands early to land combinations and superior footwork. The trouble for Omielanczuk came when Johnson began pressing him against the cage and wearing him down with pressure and knee to leg strikes. “State Trooper Tim” edged the Russian ?? late and moves on as the 2nd coming of Tim Sylvia.
Leon Edwards defeated Vicente Luque by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).

Diakiese was having fun throwing all kinds of spinning kicks but it was his 1st punch that annihilated Packalen who stiffened up before collapsing to the canvas! Dayum! “KO of the Night”
Brad Scott defeated Scott Askham by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28 2x).
Lina Lansberg defeated Lucie Pudilova by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).
This was a tough fight for both ladies but the correct woman was awarded the victory despite Lansberg showing the battle on her face. Lina looked absolutely mutilated riding in the ambulance and sending out “thanks,” to her fans on Instagram. Not sure we’ve ever seen any fighter post to social media from the back of an ambulance before!?
Tom Breese versus Oluwale Bamgbose was cancelled after Breese was declared "medically unfit to fight."
Ian Entwistle versus Brett Johns was also cancelled after Entwistle was sent to the hospital after his failed weight cut.
Ian then retired on Twitter after being pulled from the event for his 2nd consecutive weight cut failure.
MMAFO has very strong opinions on this topic. If you can’t make the weight in a healthy fashion, you are fighting at the wrong weight! Stop blaming everyone else and compete at your proper division. All the fighters place the blame on promotions but nobody is forcing them to fight in any specific class. If they don’t have the proper weight class for your body type, sorry, life ain’t fair. Putting your health at risk to cut massive amounts of pounds comes down squarely upon each individuals shoulders. Take responsibility for your own decisions!
