Main Card on FS1:
Kevin Swanson (24-7) -660 vs. Artem Lobov (13-12-1, 1) +540
The fact that Lobov is getting "Main Event" shine for being Conor McGregor's besty, is despicable. Its bad enough that Artem stole a roster spot from a dues paying up and comer, but now he gets to top a card on a tepid 2-fight winning streak, barely a .500 record, and a major "name" win over, oh yeah, he doesn't have a big name win over anyone! What the "F" UFC? Never has a fighter been gifted so much, from doing so little in their career. MMAFO will not break this bout down. "Cub" wins and fuck Artem "The Overrated" Lobov!
WINNER-Kevin Swanson by Rd.3 TKO
Al Iaquinta (12-3-1) -365 vs. Diego Sanchez (29-9) +328
Apply your spray tans and put on the jumpsuits, the "Long Island Idiot" has returned! Iaquinta sat on the shelf for a couple of years in a contract dispute with the UFC, but Al balked 1st and he returns to the cage still under the tutelage of Matt Serra and Ray Longo. "LII" is a strong style striker who bleeds courage in the cage and has been improving his Jiu-Jitsu game. "Ragin'" Al left on a 4-fight winning streak and was really starting to find his rhythm which hopefully will not be broken by the time off.
"The Nightmare." "The Dream." "The Lionheart." "The Douche." No matter what you call him, the guy is a certified lunatic, but fun to watch. Diego's prime left him 6 years ago but here he is, still standing and taking massive beatings in the cage. Sanchez likes to think of himself as a striker or maybe its all the punishment he has taken over the years that made him forget he is a grappler. At any rate, he's old, washed up, and a complete moron.
As much as MMAFO loathes Diego Sanchez, we enjoy watching him systematically fall apart in the cage. Maybe cruel to some, its great watching the imbecile crumble before our very eyes and Iaquinta is sure to deliver. Al is more athletic, stronger, better everywhere, and though he might oblige Diego for a time to enjoy a nice throwdown, eventually Iaquinta will want to check his real estate listings and thusly will finish Sanchez before cursing out the crowd in an awkward interview. This bout has "classic" written all over it!
WINNER-Al Iaquina by Rd.2 TKO
Ovince Saint Preux (19-10) -150 vs. Marcos Rogério de Lima (15-5-1) +140
Look out below, "OSP" is coming down! St. Preux's career is in free fall as he has famously refused to move to a better training camp and now he is paying for it. 1-4 in his last 5 bouts, "OSP" wilted against the divisions elite (Jimi Manuwa, Jon Jones, Glover Teixeira) and dropped his 3rd in a row against the debuting Volkan Oezdemir last out. Being a gifted athlete with natural power can only take one so far as Ovince has shown. "OSP" has slowed down majorly in his last 2 efforts and must come in with some gas in the tank and solid defense early.
"MRdL" is a Brazilian kickboxer by trade and doesn't have much else to offer. "Pezao" is a damn good kickboxer, but he generally only has a single round in him before he tires out.
And so, if "OSP" can survive that opening 5 minutes with "MRdL" than he should win. St. Preux has nice power in his hands even with short shots and he can mix up the attack while you know exactly what is going to be coming from Lima. We're giving "OSP" 1 final shot here to end this losing streak and if he has any sense at all, he'll move to a bigger/better camp before his prime has passed him by.
WINNER-Ovince St. Preux by Rd.3 Submission
Aw man, why they got to do this to Ed? The former WEC Bantamweight Champion's career is winding down but they didn't need to pair him with this Monchichi. Wineland is a great boxer but the wear on his body is well past his 32 years of age. Eddie was knocked out against Renan Pegado and Johnny Eduardo but has bounced back with back-to-back wins.
The most irritating twat in all of MMA lost a title eliminator against John Lineker last April, but it was a close bout and good showing. For as much as we despise this little squealing freak, he is one of the fastest men in the sport, with knockout power. Still, we hope he suffers a career ending injury the day before the bout.
Dodson wins this and probably by finish. Boo!
WINNER-John Dodson by Rd.1 KO
Joe Lauzon (27-12) +165 vs. Stevie Ray (20-6) -190
Fan favorite "J-Lau" has alternated wins and losses almost throughout his UFC career, but he gave up title aspirations long ago to hunt for fight night bonuses. Its made him some dollars but he has paid the price with vicious losses as well. Lauzon has a pleasing kill or be killed strategy of brawling rather than applying his bread and butter grappling skills.
"Braveheart" has been on the come up winning 6 of his last 7 while fighting for the pride of Scotland. "Freeeeeedoom!" Anywho, Ray knows how to follow the script laid out for him by his coaches and refuses to take "J-Lau" level risks.
The safe pick here is Ray. He's less likely to take chances that could cost him the bout, but its also hard to get hyped about such a mundane competitor. Joey should hang in there pretty well, but garnering enough points to actually win, is doubtful.
WINNER-Stevie Ray by Decision
Jake Ellenberger (31-12) +125 vs. Mike Perry (9-1) -145
"The Juggernaut" has gone 2-5 in the last 3 years losing all ability to pull the trigger in the cage and camp jumping. Jake has killer power in his hands but if you don't throw a punch, what's the point?
This guy, fuck this guy. The epitome of a "bro" or "just bleed" guy who thinks his shit talk and bravado scares people. Don't get us wrong, the guy has power in his fists but from his douchey tats to his grill, we hate this mouth-breather.
Jake will stand in there frozen as always allowing Mike to tee off on his head. The end.
WINNER-Mike Perry by Rd.1 TKO
Prelims on FS2:
Thales Leites (26-7) -130 vs. Sam Alvey (30-8-0, 1) +110
"Smile'N Sam" will set the record for Most Fights (6) in Under 12 Months (!) as he tries to win his 5th fight in a row. It has been all smiles for Alvey as of late as he's been winning and making babies with his model wife. Sammy is basically a one hand puncher who just doesn't go away while lulling you to sleep before you realize the bout is over and he's won.
The former title challenger stormed back into the UFC in '13 looking bigger and improved. Then, Thales starting meeting the upper echelon of the division and has stumbled losing 3 of 4. The Brazilian still has his Jiu-Jitsu to fall back on and at one point did have some nice striking though it seems to have gone away as of late.
We have enjoyed seeing Sam meander around the cage and all, but we've never thought all that much of his MMA ability. Alvey is an okay fighter but you know this overachieving is going to catch up to him eventually. Though Leites hasn't look good, he's a better fighter who has faced much, much better competition in his day and has all the talent to get the win here on the cards.

Dustin Ortiz (16-6) -155 vs. Brandon Moreno (13-3) +135
"Dio" (see what we did there?) is a capable scrambling fighter who just cannot seem to take that next step to the elite of the division.
The Mexican has run off 10 in a row and really opened eyes when he Upset Louis Smolka in his promotional debut. At only 23, Brandon is staying in the deep end facing a savvy veteran who can scramble for days. Though similar in skills to his opponent, Moreno is more of an aggressive finisher.
This could be a really fun fight to view. Both guys are going to go for broke here but we were so impressed by Moreno in his last effort, and Ortiz seems to have stopped developing, that we are running with the youngsta in what should be close down to the final horn.
Upset Pick WINNER-Brandon Moreno by Decision
Scott Holtzman (9-2) -365 vs. Michael McBride (8-2) +305
Yuck, this is a garbage fight. Nobody wins until both men are sent back to the minors.

Jessica Penne (12-5) -120 vs. Danielle Taylor (8-2) +100
Oh Jessica, we have loved and cheered for you for the last 7 years but we see terrible things ahead. Penne showed her weakness against Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Jessica Andrade as they gave her a couple of the worst beatings in female MMA history. It was awful to watch and much like Junior dos Santos, you have to wonder what damage has been done long term. Jessica just cannot strike with the women of this division and honestly, she should be competing at a weight class below.
"She's a little pocket rocket!" said the world when they saw the stout little Danielle. "Dynamite" is barely 5'0" but she has the power of a fire hydrant as well as the shape.
Jessica is a grappler and its going to be hard for her to get her hip throws against Taylor with her being so solidly built. More likely, Danielle will get in under Jessica's 7 inch reach advantage and touch her up to a judges nod.

Prelims on UFC Fight Pass:
Alexis Davis (17-7) -330 vs. Cindy Dandois (8-2) +270
Vet Alexis Davis is the gatekeeper to the elite of the division as she welcomes another wannabe to the Octagon. Dandois comes in looking like Brigitte Nielson only from Germany instead of Russia. Both ladies are similar fighters from their grappling skills to their kickboxing, but Cindy doesn't belong at this level. Real talk.
