UFC Fight Night 112
FS1 Main Card Results:
Kevin Lee submitted Michael Chiesa via Rear Naked Choke at 4:37 of the opening round.
Yet again, errors follow referee Mario Yamasaki. Mr. Lee controlled the bout on the back of Chiesa, and eventually sunk the choke deeply under his chin as Mike stopped defending himself. The referee then stopped the contest before Chiesa tapped out and he rose to his feet in anger claiming he was fine. Michael may have almost been out, but you have to give the fighter a chance to fight out of positions. It was a glaring rookie mistake and Kevin now moves on with a Top 10 scalp on his resume while Chiesa appeals the loss to a hapless commission who will undoubtedly do nothing.
Obviously, the news here is that “Pigg Rigg” missed weight for the 4th time (counting the cancelled bout) and his 1st misstep at Middleweight. How this idiot can miss weight after moving up 15 lbs. is beyond us. Something is serious wrong with Hendricks' discipline, or his body. USADA era much?
The "Barbarian" has now inexplicably won 3 of his last 4 bouts!
So Herrig won and then went to the post fight presser crying crocodile tears and claiming she isn't being pushed by the UFC because she doesn't feel pretty or young. This from the attention whore who posts nothing but near nudes on all her social media. Herrig, you don't get "pushed" because your fight style is boring and you're obviously a selfish poseur.
Anywho, as if things could't get worse, poor Justine Kish pooped herself in the cage and it was gruesome. We feel terrible for Kish but she quickly took to the Internet to laugh along at her embarrassing situation.
Dominick Reyes TKO’d Joachim Christensen with Strikes at 0:29 of the 1st round.
Tim Means defeated Alex Garcia by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).
Dennis Siver defeated BJ Penn by Majority Decision (28-28, 29-28, 29-27).
And it shall end with a whimper. Penn looked as awful as we all know he would be, rarely showing offense, though an uppercut did rock Siver in the 2nd, and ambling slowly around the Octagon. BJ had no answer for Dennis' myriad of kicks, or continual attack. MMAFO doesn't care if Penn continues or not as we have always found him overrated.
FS2 Prelims Results:
Clay Guida defeated Erik Koch by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-26).
"The Carpenter" dominated Kock on the mat and at one point threw what is being called, scorpion kicks, which you have to just see to believe. Clay threw kicks while holding onto Erik's waist with his legs soaring over his own head! Again, you have to see it. Clay makes a successful return to 155's and you cannot keep Guida down folks!
Marvin Vettori defeated Victor Miranda Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27 2x).
Carla Esparza defeated Maryna Moroz by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28 x2).
Darrell Horcher defeated Devin Powell by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).
UFC Fight Pass Prelims Results:
Jared Gordon TKO’d Michel Quinones via Punches at 4:24 of the 2nd round.
Well Gordon, you missed weight and thus jeopardize the win you just earned.
Tony Martin defeated Johnny Case by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).
Jeremy Kimball TKO’d Josh Stansbury via Punches at 1:21 of the initial round.
Bellator (180) NYC
Main Card Results:
Chael Sonnen defeated Wanderlei Silva by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-27 2x).
Yup, Wand still has no takedown defense and this was as disappointing as originally thought. Sonnen can still go fuck himself.
Neumann Gracie submitted Dave Marfone via Rear Naked Choke at 2:27 of the 2nd round.
Matt Mitrione TKO’d Fedor Emelianenko with Punches at 1:14 of the opening round.
Both men connected early with a double knockdown (rarely seen) but it was the younger Mitrione who recovered quickest and pounded out Emelianenko before he could gather himself. Another sad outing for Fedor but a huge win for Matt who is likely in line now for the Bellator Heavyweight title which is currently vacant.
Brent Primus defeated Michael Chandler by TKO (left leg injury) at 2:22 of the very 1st round to become the new Bellator Lightweight Champion!
You just never know in MMA. How Mike injured his ankle is unsure, but it was flopping around out there and looked painful and gross. The officials had to halt the bout and Brent is awarded gold in a big Upset via bad luck.
Zach Freeman submitted Aaron Pico via Guillotine Choke 0:24 into the fight to Upset the rookie prospect.
Not a good debut for "the greatest MMA prospect in the world." Poor Aaron came out and ate an uppercut that wobbled him and the savvy veteran Freeman locked the freshman down forcing a tap in under 30 seconds.
Douglas Lima defeated Lorenz Larkin by Unanimous Decision (50-45, 48-47 2x) to retain the Welterweight Championship.
Spike TV Prelims Results:
Ryan Bader defeated Phil Davis by Split Decision (49-46, 47-48, 49-46) to gain gold for the 1st time in his career, becoming the new Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion.
Yeesh, that was as exciting as their 1st meeting in that it sucked. These guys just don't pair up well for a fight. It happens but you will likely see it again in Bellator with their short roster.
Somewhere, "King Mo," is laughing his ass off as he just got a title shot after getting injured and dropping out of the contest.
James Gallagher tapped Chinzo Machida via Rear Naked Choke at 2:22 of the very 1st round.
Heather Hardy TKO’d Alive Yauger with Strikes at 4:47 of the final round to make a successful MMA debut.
Online Prelims Results:
Ryan Couture shocked the world by defeating Haim Gozali by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-27 2x).
Anthony Giacchina submitted Jerome Mickel via Rear Naked Choke at 3:40 of the final round.
Bradley Desir KO’d Nate Grebb with Punches at 2:54 of the opening round.
Matt Rizzo tapped Sergio da Silva via Arm-Triangle Choke at 3:48 of the 3rd round.
Hugh McKenna submitted John Salgado via Kimura at 4:06 of the 1st round.
