Bellator 192 & UFC 220 Results: Daniel Cormier, Rory MacDonald, & Stipe Miocic Are Champions!

Bellator 192 Results:

Chael Sonnen defeated Quinton Jackson by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).

“Rampage” now owes Sonnen $30,000 as he was taken down 3 times and their bet was $10,000 per takedown. The fight was as lackluster as expected but Chael looked better than he has in a while while Quinton looked the same (terrible). Sonnen advances in the tourney to face the winner of Fedor Emelianenko versus Frank Mir in April.

Rory MacDonald defeated Douglas Lima by Unanimous Decision (48-47, 49-46, 49-45) to become the new Bellator Welterweight Champion!

The "Red King" had to almost literally walk through hell when Lima nearly destroyed his left leg. "Mac Daddy-D" built an early lead but Lima showed his prowess battling back and it seemed to all come down to the final 5. Rory battle through the "mental barriers" and proved why he deserves to be a champion!

Michael Chandler defeated Goiti Yamauchi by Unanimous Decision (30-26 2x, 30-25).

Aaron Pico KO’d Shane Kruchten with a couple of gorgeous hooks to the body at 0:37 of the very 1st round!

This was impressive and somewhere Bas Rutten is smiling. Pico is coming into his own and we await his continued progress. "KO of the Night"

Henry Corrales defeated Georgi Karakhanyan by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28 2x).

Devon Brock Upset Khonry Gracie’s debut by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28 2x).

That face when your guy doesn't win.
UFC 220 Results:

Stipe Miocic broke the “Heavyweight Curse” by defeating an overzealous Francis Ngannou by Unanimous Decision (50-44 3x).

Miocic made history but this was an unimpressive way to make history. Pundits seem to be falling all over themselves to pat Stipe on the back and MMAFO is at a loss as to why. Ngannou came out blazing and swinging for the fences with every ounce of his being. Francis even connected a couple of times and had "Steepay" backpedaling. From there, the "Cameroon Crusher" found himself out of gas. Miocic did the right thing taking Ngannou down, but he literally just rested upon his opponent, forcing the challenger to carry his weight. It made for a long, long night, but the embarrassment should be put upon Francis' large shoulders, though Stipe did as little as humanly possible to retain his gold. Yawnsville.

Stipe is also saying this makes him the "GOAT" of the Heavyweight scene. HaHaHaHaHaHa! Some people have no sense of history.

Daniel Cormier TKO’d Volkan Oezdemir with Punches at 2:00 of the 2nd round.

Junior varsity, meet the "Coach." "DC" took Oezdemir's best shots in the 1st round, and then found his groove in the 2nd. Cormier got comfy out there and dragged "Oz" to the canvas where he tortured him in the crucifix position until the referee mercifully ended the assault.

Daniel Cormier (20-1) retains his Light Heavyweight title and puts some of the haters to bed. MMAFO could give a damn for the unnamed cheater who can't remain active for more than a single bout every 5 years or so. "DC" is the man in case y'all forgot.

Calvin Kattar TKO’d Shane Burgos in a barn burner at 0:32 of the final round.

This turned out to be a rather entertaining brawl but Burgos really struggled with the stinging jab Kattar threw out successfully time and time again. Shane showed a ton of heart but Calvin put on the finishing touches late in a bout worth the watch. "Fight of the Night"

Gian Villante defeated Francimar Barroso by Split Decision (30-28, 28-29, 30-27).

Awful. Just awful.

Rob Font TKO’d Thomas Almeida via Head Kick & Punches at 2:24 of the 2nd round.

Team Sityodtong in the hizzy over Chute Boxe! Boston represented as Font tested the chin of Almeida and found it lacking! Rob earns the biggest win of his career and proves to be a playa at Bantamweight.

Thomas is in serious trouble losing 3 of his last 4 and all by (T)KO. Time for the young man to figure something out on defense.

Kyle Bochniak defeated Brandon Davis by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28 x2).

Abdul Razak Alhassan KO’d Sabah Homasi by Uppercut at 3:47 of the very 1st round!

Any doubters now? Alhassan proved to be the better man, again, as he unleashed an uppercut of epic proportions sending Homasi to the dark realms! I said goddamn!

Dustin Ortiz defeated Alexandre Pantoja by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).

Julio Arce defeated Dan Ige by Unanimous Decision (30-27 2x, 29-28).

Enrique Barzola defeated Matt Bessette by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28 2x).

Islam Makahachev KO’d cheater Gleison Tiabau at 0:57 of the opening round.
