Now I have doubted whether or not Jorge Gurgel could be a #1 contender for the UFC Lightweight Title, but I won't question the heart and the willingness of this guy to compete until the end. After his war with Diego Saraiva, Jorge was "pissing blood," had a broken jaw, and a "facial fracture." This earned Gurgel $14,000 and an indefinite medical suspension from the California Athletic Commission. Jorge earned $14,000 in one night of work, and all the best to Gurgel in his recovery process. Hey, at least he won the unanimous decision upping his record to 11-2.
