Jake Shields Signs With The UFC (almost)

Jake Shields is about to sign with the UFC. As if that was any sort of shocking news, it seems as though the pen is very close to the paper. Shields (25-4-1) Strikeforce Middleweight Champion is currently the hottest free agent in MMA after a straight dominant come from behind win over the former hottest MMA free agent Dan Henderson. The poster boy for Strikeforce was sitting beside UFC President Dana White at Saturday nights WEC PPV and was seen mouthing the words, "he's mine."

It is rumored that the "Scrap Pack" (Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu) team Captain will forgo Middleweight and return to Welterweight where he will face current UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre for the strap for his 1st Zuffa bout. Jake is riding a 14 fight winning streak that includes the who's who of MMA such as Jason Miller, Yushin Okami, Robbie Lawler, Paul Daley, Nick Thompson, Carlos Condit, and "Mach" Sakurai. Shields has only been stopped once in his career (way back in 2000; his 3rd pro fight) and is a former Shooto Middleweight Champion plus Pro Elite XC Welterweight Champion.

If Jake Shields signs with the UFC a bevy of interesting fights loom, but Strikeforce will be dealt a heavy blow and only Fedor can save the day.
