Bellator 45, BAMMA 6, & KSW 16 Picks & Prognostications

Bellator 45 Fight Card
May 21, 2011
L’Auberge du Lac Casino Resort
Lake Charles, Louisiana

Bellator
Light Heavyweight Championship:
Christian M’Pumbu vs. Richard Hale I'll ride with anyone nicknamed the "Tonton" but M'Pumbu is in for a tough fight. Christian has the length and stand up ability to hurt and control Hale but the floor is another matter entirely. Christian's submissions come from hurting you while Hale can set things up. Another factor in this fight is the possibility of it going the entire 5 rounds. Richard would seem to have the better gas tank but neither have tested such deep waters. This fight is a toss up for the inaugural Bellator Light Heavyweight Championship so I'll root for "Tonton."
WINNER-Christian M'Pumbu by Decision

Bellator Season 4
Featherweight Tournament Final:
Daniel Straus vs. Patricio Freire Don't let Daniel's 12 fight winning streak fool you, he's not winning this. Straus is a rounder who grinds opponents down looking for the decision win. The other "Pitbull" at Team Nogueira is far more dynamic with his striking not to mention Jiu-Jitsu prowess. I really don't see Daniel getting any offense going and possibly getting shut down before the judges have their say from accumulating too much punishment in all areas of the fight.
WINNER-Patricio Freire by Rd.3 TKO

Sam Alvey vs Karl Amoussou Take the french fighter all day here as he has talent in spades above average Alvey.
WINNER-Karl Amoussou by Rd.2 Submission

BAMMA 6: Watson vs. Ninja Fight Card
May 21, 2011
Wembley Arena
London, England

Main Bouts:
BAMMA
Middleweight Champion Tom Watson vs. Murilo Rua "Kong" looks to defend his crown against the always vexing "Ninja" who returns from a loss to a title shot. I still gotta run with Rua over some wanna be Brit scrub who is England's version of Phil Baroni.
WINNER-"Ninja" Rua by Rd.2 TKO

Frank Trigg vs. John Phillips "Twinkle Toes" just can't hang it up and faces the ahem, "White Mike Tyson." Yes, that is his nickname. Jeezus. Anywho, I know Trigg
should win this, but will he? It would just take 1 clean shot to KO Frank but hopefully training at Xtreme Couture will ready the veteran for a proper wrestling G&P clinic. We shall see as my faith in Trigg is waining these days.
WINNER-Frank Trigg by Decision

Ivan Salaverry vs. Matt Ewin Ivan is back, but why? The old timer will face a man capable in his area of strength (Jiu-Jitsu) who is younger, stronger, and has fought consistently while Ivan grew moss for the last 3 years. Take the "unknown" on this one.
WINNER-Matt Ewin by Rd.1 TKO

KSW 16
Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki
May 21, 2011
Ergo Arena in Gdańsk, Poland

Mariusz Pudzianowski (3-1) vs. James Thompson (15-14) I'm not really sure why either guy is fighting or why I'm covering it but hey. "Colossus" hasn't been worth a damn in his career but can hit hard for about 20 seconds. The "Dominator" has been anything but in his short MMA career beating up cans and being beat up by the only real fighter he faced which is a shell of a former
Tim Sylvia. My greatest fear here is that they both gas in 20 seconds and find themselves unable to finish each other and instead hug for 15 minutes of hetero fun. Take the former World's Strongest Man to at least try to win while James looks around for his paycheck.
WINNER-Mariusz Pudzianowski by Rd.1 KO

Mamed Khalidov (22-4) vs. Matt Lindland (22-8) What the hell is the "Law" doing? The guy almost got killed by
Vitor Belfort and then tempted death again against Robbie Lawler in his last bout. Mamed is pretty solid everywhere which means a lot when fighting a man with the durability of an egg shell. Do you know who to pick yet?
WINNER-Mamed Khalidov by Destruction
