Bellator 45, BAMMA 6, & KSW 16 Results & Revery

Bellator 45
Christian M'Pumbu KO's Richard Hale to become the 1st Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion. "Tonton" was just too fast and agile while Hale looked like an old man for this one. Christian almost stopped Hale in the 1st but he recovered to let the beating continue. M'Pumbu turned things up for the 3rd round and Richard simply had no answer for it. Props to the referee for letting Hale take unnecessary punishment (that is sarcasm).

Patricio Freire did as expected winning a Decision over Daniel Straus earning another shot next year against Featherweight Champion Joe Warren.

Sam Alvey decided to shock the MMA world by upsetting Karl Amoussou by Split-Decision. Karl was coasting early and cut Alvey badly but Sam reversed to position to give Amoussou the red bath. For the final 2 rounds Karl lacked the gas to content with this upstart he should have bested easily.

BAMMA 6
Tom Watson retained his Middleweight Championship by defeating Murilo Rua by TKO. "Ninja" went out on his shield as the 2 men exchanged in a war on the feet to begin the bout. For the remaining minutes "Kong" destroyed Rua's legs wobbling the veteran. A final head kick sealed the deal and "Ninja" announced his retirement after the bout.
"I would like to announce officially my retirement from PRO MMA fights tonight. It was an amazing run, and its a very tough moment ... But there comes a time for all in life, and it's time to move on. I am proud of all I did in MMA and all experiences I had ... I will continue to work with MMA, doing seminars, teaching classes, training fighters, and doing my share to help our sport that I love so much." -Murilo Rua via Twitter.

Frank Trigg took down and opened an ocean of red on the face of John Phillips causing a doctor stoppage TKO. The, ahem, "White Mike Tyson" never got the chance to fire those fists and instead ate a meal of elbows the caused 3 deep gashes across his forehead. It took just over a minute for "Twinkle Toes" to dispatch with the young yearling.

Matt Ewin defeats Ivan Salaverry in a bout nobody should ever watch. Ever. Obviously retirement was not good for Ivan and the bout was not good for fans.

KSW 16
James Thompson
Upsets Mariusz Pudzianowski by Arm-Triangle Choke submission in the 2nd round of this epic battle. To his credit Mariusz did come out bombing and lit up "Colossus" on the feet. The problem was that Pudz could not put Thompson away and thus expended his 30 second gas tank to its max. There was a bit of 2 walrus's rolling around out there and between rounds the KSW staff did everything in their power to give Mariusz time to breathe cleaning the ring and taping his glove. It did not help as an exhausted "Dominator" began the 2nd round just pushing away unable to lift his massive arms. A takedown signaled the end and Pudz basically allowed the Brit to put on the submission hold to end it. What an amazing Super Heavyweight brawl.

Mamed Khalidov repped for Poland choking Matt Lindland into his favorite state of unconsciousness by Guillotine Choke. The "Law" looks 100 years old out there and had nothing to offer yet again tonight. Granted he journeyed to Poland for a fight, but Matt should not be licensed for MMA anymore.

A mere 5-3 on the picking side.
