Bellator 49 Fight Card
September 10, 2011
Caesars Atlantic City
Atlantic City, New Jersey
Welterweight Tournament Bouts:
Steve Carl (14-2) vs. Douglas Lima (18-4) The prominent proboscis of the ATT's "Phenom" graduates from MFC to Bellator against Carl who already has 4 Bellator bouts on record. The war veteran gets no love from me as average meets the future. Lima's the real deal and I look for big things in this tournament and the future in general for the 23 year old who already has 22 professional fights!
Chris Cisneros (13-3) vs. Ben Saunders (10-3-2) An unabashed "Killa-B" fan, I am psyched to see Ben get the nod for this tournament. Here's hoping the takedown defense and wrestling has improved which he didn't need as he kneed the crap out of poor Matt Lee in Saunders initial Bellator bout. The "Maverick" is taking a leap up in competition and will be pwned by Benjamin.
Luis Santos (49-6-1) vs. Dan Hornbuckle (22-4) "Sapo" has fought 82 bouts in the time it took me to write this sentence. The "Handler" (I'm not sure that nickname implies what you think it implies) is tough as they come though a bit limited in his all around game. I like Dan and his grind em out style to punish and break Santos' will.
Chris Lozano (8-1) vs. Brent Weedman (18-6-1) The "Cleveland Assassin" better have his KO hands ready for the ultra-aggressive finish now style of Weedman. Brent's a fun guy to watch fight as he goes for the finish even when its a bad idea. Chris has KO'd 5 guys in round 1 of his short career so we know his strong suit. This one is a coin flip for me.
Giedrius Karavackas vs. LeVon Maynard "Da Maynman" (ahem) is big and scary but "Karate is back" and thus wins Geidrius.
Azunna Anyanwu vs. J.A. Dudley Another big "Zulu" enters against the 65 year old looking Kimbo Slice guy. One guy here has as much chance as the man he resembles.
Brylan Van Artsdalen vs. Joel Roberts Who are these guys?

Upset Pick WINNER-Chris Lozano by KO
Prelims:
Alexandre Bezerra vs. Scott Heckman Both men enjoy finishing fights but I doubt the "Animal" can hand with "Popo's" ridiculous Jiu-Jitsu.

WINNER-Alex Bezerra by Rd.2 Submission
Giedrius Karavackas vs. LeVon Maynard "Da Maynman" (ahem) is big and scary but "Karate is back" and thus wins Geidrius.
WINNER-Giedrius Karavackas by Decision

WINNER-Azunna Anyanwu by Decision
Brylan Van Artsdalen vs. Joel Roberts Who are these guys?
WINNER-Brylan Van Artsdalen by ?
Paul Daley (27-11-2) vs. Jordan Radev (23-4)England's favorite douche bag returns to face a guy who is willing to test that new found ground game "Semtex" claims to have. I doubt that seriously but Paul's hands are so good, fast, and heavy that Jordan is going down sooner or later. Not to mention the angry Daley is coming off two losses in a row to Nick Diaz (who I'm not going to talk about) and Mizzou's Tyron Woodley.
"Lonsdale British Middleweight Title" (Vacant) Jack Marshman (8-0) vs. Carl Noon (7-1) Ah, the famous LBMT. Jesus just make up a belt for each bout already. The "Hammer" (how original) is undefeated while Carl has stumbled just once. I don't care.
Jason Ball (18-9) vs. Andre Winner (11-6-1) Andre Lost his UFC career but he's still a decent fighter and good on the feet. "Daddy Cool" is here to make Winner look like a great fighter.
* On a superficial note, could Bellator possibly come up with uglier posters?
BAMMA 7 Fight Card
Main Bouts:
Jim Wallhead (21-6) vs. Frank Trigg (21-8) I thought "Twinkle Toes" was done but he looked reborn destroying John Phillips in his BAMMA debut. "Judo" Jim is a wild card but I can't say I've ever been impressed with Trigg for long and I feel like this would be a big "name" win for Wallhead. Here's hoping Jim steps up ready and puts Frank back into the announcing chair where he belongs. The longer this fight goes, the less hope there will be for the old man.

WINNER-Paul Daley Rd.2 TKO
* Paul failed to make weight yet again! Jackass.
Lightweight Champion Rob Sinclair (10-2) vs Leonardo Santos (1-0) I'll go with the guy not entering his 2nd pro fight to retain the worthless trinket.
WINNER-Rob Sinclair by Whatever
Tim Radcliffe vs TBA (0-0) Efrain Escudero has "visa issues" (insert your own Mexican joke here) and was not allowed in Britain so he's off the card. No word as of yet who Tim will face though he is slated to remain on the card.
WINNER-TBA by Submission
"Lonsdale British Middleweight Title" (Vacant) Jack Marshman (8-0) vs. Carl Noon (7-1) Ah, the famous LBMT. Jesus just make up a belt for each bout already. The "Hammer" (how original) is undefeated while Carl has stumbled just once. I don't care.

WINNER-Andre Winner by Rd.2 TKO
* On a superficial note, Trigg's facial hair is humorous.
