I don't know anything about the Australian version of the Ultimate Fighter called the Smashes (?), but there are 4 good bouts on here and Chad Mendes gets to destroy someone on TV for free. The picks are really phoned in but time is of the essence and this card did not inspire.
Main Card (FX):
George Sotiropoulos (14-4) vs. Ross Pearson (13-6) The Aussie was brought down to Earth losing his last 2 fights after compiling an impressive 8 fight winning streak. Ross can’t decide whether to fight at 145 or 155 which is never a good thing. George wins on the ground while Ross wins standing but you have to favor the homeboy in a close bout.
WINNER-George Sotiropoulos by Decision
Robert Whittaker (Team Australia) vs. Brad Scott (Team UK) Its the Smashes Welterweight final with two men I have yet to hear or care about.
WINNER-Robert Whittaker by Reputation
Colin Fletcher (Team UK) vs. Norman Parke (Team UK) In the Lightweight Smashes final we have two more guys I don’t know or have time to research. “Freakshow” looks very scary so I’ll go with him.
WINNER-Colin Fletcher by Rd.2 TKO
Hector Lombard (31-3-1) vs. Rousimar Palhares (14-4) Well Hector sure shit the bed in his UFC debut just standing in front of Tim Boestch and doing little else. The tank facade of Palhares crumbled in his last fight when Alan Belcher beat Rousimar at his own game and now we have two Middleweights in desperate need of a win. You never know what Palhares is going to do in a fight, except for something head scratching. Lombard is an adopted Aussie and should be quite aggressive this time out in search of the big win. Lombard finds his way avoiding the takedowns and putting the Brazilian away.
WINNER-Hector Lombard by Rd.2 TKO

Prelims (Fuel TV):
Chad Mendes (12-1) vs. Yaotzin Meza (18-7) Meza takes the fight on short notice and takes a beating. This is as close to a “lock” in MMA as you are going to get.
WINNER-Chad Mendes by Rd.1 TKO
Igor Pokrajac (25-9) vs. Joey Beltran (14-8) There ain’t nobody tougher than the “Mexicutioner” and the “Duke” is becoming known for making dumb decisions in the Octagon. Nobody is picking Beltran but MMAFO as Joey absorbs what he needs to and just out hearts Pokrajac in an exciting bout!
Upset Pick WINNER-Joey Beltran by Decision
Mike Pierce (15-5) vs. Seth Baczynski (18-8) Mike may get no love from the fans but the dude is solid. Seth has come along well but he will quickly learn Pierce is on another level.
WINNER-Mike Pierce Rd.3 G&P
Other Prelims
Benny Alloway (Team Australia) vs. Manny Rodriguez (Team Australia)

Brendan Loughnane (Team UK) vs. Mike Wilkinson (Team UK)
