UFC Fight Night 154 The Korean Zombie vs. Moicano: Fight Card, Picking Prognostications + Odds

Main Card on ESPN+ (6pm/CT):
Chan Sung Jung (14-5) +170 vs. #6 Renato Carneiro (13-2-1) -185

"The Korean Zombie" can't catch a damn break. He gets forced into Military service in South Korea, comes back and gets injured, comes back again and is literally seconds away from victory, when a fucking "hellbow" from nowhere knocks him into the shadow realm. I mean fuck! We all root for Chan as he's just an exciting-as-hell fighter who gives it his all and has had some shit luck (his shoulder dislocating in his title shot against Jose Aldo for example). It just feels like we're being robbed of Jung's prime and MMAFO are some greedy fans.

Part of what makes this such a compelling fight is that "Moicano" is such a good fighter. We've been pretty high on the Brazilian but properly tailored our adoration when he went to face Jose Aldo knowing he would (and did) fall short. Carneiro needs control and that is going to be difficult against Jung.

Part of why we love "The Korean Zombie" is that he takes chances. After his last second loss, it would be difficult not to tell him to take a slower technical pace, but it would actually be a mistake here. Renato is good striking at range but not so stellar mixing it up and in-fighting. Chan Sung gettin' dirty and throwing crazy shit just fits.

Upset Pick WiNNER-Chan Sung Jung by Rd.3 TKO

John Lineker versus Rob Font is CANCELLED.

"Hands of Stone," who was just bitching about not getting enough fights from the UFC, had to withdraw due to a cut over his eye. John did take this on a month's notice but the irony is there.

Bryan Barberena (14-6) -260 vs. Randy Brown (10-3) +240

Nah, nah, nah, this is not how you book the "Rude Boy." Randy is an exciting kickboxer but he's not going to do shit against a guy that can G&P like "Bam Bam." BB was built to take down and punish flashy strikers like this.

#8 Andrea Lee (10-2) -190 vs. #9 Montana De La Rosa (10-4) +175

And so, "KGB" gets a solid win over Ashlee Evans-Smith last out and puts the personal issues aside to get down to focusing on her career. Good for her. Lee has won her last 6 outings and is now 2-0 in the promotion. Andrea does most of her work on the ground bullying opponents.

MDLR was our quiet pick "to watch" coming out of TUF 26. The Texan of Team Takedown is a staunch grappler who has finished all of her opponents in her last 4 wins.

Oooh, this has fun written all over it. Both of these ladies are talented but Montana just seems like she is slicker and more technical if we are grappling. De La Rosa should hold sway here but Lee will not make it easy leading to a real exciting fight.

Upset Pick WiNNER-Montana De La Rosa by Decision

Kevin Holland (14-4) -210 vs. Alessio Di Chirico (12-2) +190

I mean I guess we're just banging' this out eh? Well then we'll side with the Phalanx "Trailblazer" in a slobberknocker.

WiNNER-Kevin Holland by Decision?

Prelims on ESPN+ (3pm/CT):
Dan Ige (11-2) +130 vs. Kevin Aguilar (17-1) -140

"Dynamit" Dan is okay but "The Angel of Death" has come for him.

WiNNER-Kevin Aguilar by Decision

Ashley Yoder (6-4) -115 vs. Syuri Kondo (6-2) +105

No joke, "The Spider Monkey" lost 3 in a row there but Yoder has improved. Ashley made good last out defeating Amanda Cooper to get her 1st win in the UFC. Ash is technically good, just no power anywhere.

The former professional wrestler is struggling having gone 1-2 in the UFC and not looking particularly effective.

Dudes, we're doing it again. We're picking Yoder for the Upset! There is a determination and grit to Ashley's game you can't teach while we have not seen much spirit from Syuri to date. Bet the mortgage and get a loan!

Matt Wiman (16-7) +340 vs. Luis Peña (6-1) -380

So Matt Wiman, hey, wait-a-minute! Whatssat, whossat there fella? It is! It is fucking Matt Wiman! Not seen since November of 2014, "Handsome" Matt has returned for a fight some 4 years out of fucking nowhere, later. This, is, peculiar. Wiman injured his back and quietly retired in 2015 and we have no idea why he has returned. Interesting.

So Pena caught people's attention because of the "Violent Bob Ross" nickname and crazy looking red afro. Wonderful. Luis gets a sub win in his 1st outing then loses his 2nd. Then, he misses weight against Steven Peterson last out though he won the fight. Safe to say, not impressed. Dude is tall and can grapple, but we don't take weight misses lightly and again, nothing special here.

"Violent Bob" should be able to win here since Matt has been M.I.A. for four years on ring rust alone. Here's hoping Wiman makes it tough on him and maybe an interview as to why the sudden unheralded return.

WiNNER-Luis Pena by Decision

Allen Crowder (10-3) +185 vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik (7-0) -200

"Pretty Boy" gets a shot in the big time for a DQ win over scumbag Greg Hardy in January. Why Allen is a big ole hitter from North Carolina and destined for greatness /s.

"Big Boy" is gonna knock his ass out.

Ariane Lipski (11-4) -265 vs. Molly McCann (8-2) +245

The "Violence Queen" was welcomed to the UFC by Joanne Calderwood in a losing effort in January. Lipski found success in KSW but her vaunted striking was tepid in her debut.

Molly "Meatball" is a nice fighter and all but she needs to make weight more successfully and she's going to be out-sized and out-gunned here.

WiNNER-Ariane Lipski by Decision

Deron Winn (5-0) -260 vs. Eric Spicely (12-4) +240

AKA 4 tha Winn.

WiNNER-Deron Winn by Decision

Andre Ewell (14-5) +100 vs. Anderson Dos Santos (20-7) -110

We haven't exactly seen any "Highlights" from Ewell but he'll win here.

Upset Pick WiNNER-Andre Ewell by Decision
