Bellator Mousasi vs. Lovato: Fight Card, Odds, & Some Chit Chat

Bellator London
June 22, 2019
SSE Arena, England

Middleweight Champion #2 Gegard Mousasi (45-6-2) -400 vs. Rafael Lovato Jr. (9-0) +325

You know, MMAFO, loves us some "Sweet Sassy" Mousasi! "The Dreamcatcher" (of our MMAFO hearts) is cashing checks with 8 wins in a row and the belt around his waist. Taking out the ultra-tough Rafael Carvalho in a single round of destruction before spanking Rory MacDonald back down to Welterweight and Mousasi is rolling!

Lovato has put in the work and is tough as shit, but he's up against it here. Dude can grapple for sure, but Mousasi can dance there as well and hold his own. Raf ain't got a shot in hell striking wise and that is going to become obvious quickly.

Bring the jab motherfucker. The prettiest jab in MMA today leads the way as Gegard stays tucked behind it fucking up Rafael while avoiding the ground before putting together something nasty to finish!

Erick Silva (20-10) +250 vs. Paul Daley (40-17-2) -300

The only guy you can trust less than Paul Daley on the Bellator roster, is Erick Silva. This matchup is hilarious. Both of these guys are underachievers with about a round of fight in them. The (ahem) "A Fierce Tiger" (his official nickname, wtf?) can grapple some but not enough to keep Paul honest, and eventually, "Semtex" is going to blow up the chinny Brazilian.

James Gallagher (8-1) -400 vs. Jeremiah Labiano (12-6) +325

His shtick is tired and all cringe.

Mike Shipman (13-1) vs. Costello van Steenis (11-1)

Both of these guys are tough.

"Seabass" comes in having won 13 in a row and has never needed a judges decision! The London Shootfighter

The Netherlander has won his last 5 and got a big win last out over Chris Honeycutt

WiNNER-

Melvin Manhoef (30-14-1) vs. Kent Kauppinen (11-4)

Holy Jesus shit Melvin Manhoef is back! What the hell? We forgot the now 83 in fight years competitor was still with Bellator, and here he is two years since his last appearance. The Bellator run has been abysmal with "No Mercy" going 2-3-1 including a couple of vicious knockout losses. The age and wear upon a body that has had 45 professional MMA bouts and 52 professional kickboxing bouts has us worried about his return. The Dutch fighter does have some of the most murderous supernova hands ever in combat sports so he's always got a shot.

Get the fuck outta here with Kent! His claim to fame is knocking out Alessio Sakara which he shares with half the MMA Middleweights in the world and a stiff breeze.

Charlie Ward (6-3) vs. Justin Moore (7-2)

Conor McGregor's "Thug" has won 3 in a row, 4 if you count the successful attack on the offensive bus, and all have been 1st round finishes.

Mr. Moore is what we like to refer to as, "the sacrificial lamb" to make Conor's boy look good. These are the facts jack.

WiNNER-Charlie Ward by Rd.1 TKO

Lena Ovchynnikova (12-5) vs. Kate Jackson (10-3-1)

We're not gonna lie. There's just something about "Hunter" that interests us and we can't quite put our finger in it. Lena should be able to handle Kate on the canvas and get back in the win column.
