The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale Results:Nam Phan Is Robbed!

Dave Branch defeated Rich Attonito by Unanimous Decision. Not a whole lotta action in this 1 but Dave pitches a shutout. MMAFO Score: 30-27 Branch

Pablo Garza KO'd Fredson Paixao through the floor with a brutal Flying Knee. This 1 ended quick but there was no celebration as Paixao lay unconscious for 4 minutes! Finally he came around but had to be carried to a stretcher. "KO Of The Night"

Nick Pace invented a new move and Submitted Will Campuzano. Pace basically just put on a grappling clinic for 2 rounds and then from his guard, he snuck his right forearm under Will's chin and held on to his own leg that was holding down Campuzano's head. Quite interesting as Nick says he invented the move on the spot and is calling it the "Pace." "Submission Of The Night"
* I know its quiet at the Palms Casino for the prelims when nobody is there yet, but why were Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg whispering the commentary?

Kyle Watson won the battle with Sako Chivitchyan by Unanimous Decision. Both men fought hard for 2 rounds and then decided to to bring back the Ultimate Staring Contest! MMAFO Score: 30-27 Watson

Ian Loveland defeated Tyler Toner by Unanimous Decision. Yup. MMAFO Score: 30-27 Loveland

Cody McKenzie defeats Aaron Wilkinson by guess what, Guillotine Submission. The goofball pulls off the guillotine win for what has to be a record 9th straight time!!

Leonard Garcia god the blind judges Split-Decision over Nam Phan. WTF! Phan won every single round and I dare you to find anyone else who scored this fight for Garcia. Who is this cat paying anyway? He keeps getting these ridiculous decisions after swinging like a fool for 3 rounds and getting taken apart! The crowd chanted "Bullshit, Bullshit" and it was nice to hear Joe Rogan call out the judges. Nam looked great at Featherweight, won this fight, and won the crowd over! Rogan really stepped up in helping the fighters through the awkward moment and made sure the world knew the judges were idiots and later called the judges "incompetent morons." MMAFO Score: 30-27 Phan

Rick Story UPSETS Johny Hendricks by Unanimous Decision. So much for Hendricks out-wrestling Story. This was a positional war that was basically a stalemate. Close fight and I have no problem with this decision. MMAFO Score: 29-28 Story
* At 1 point in the fight you could hear a fan yell "Put him in a body bag Johnny." hilariously quoting the Karate Kid.

Demian Maia defeats Kendall Grove by Unanimous Decision. When Maia employs his aggressive Jiu-Jitsu he is fun to watch and very impressive. The striking still isn't there but it is improved and Grove actually impressed me as well with his defense. No matter the movements, Demian owned it and Kendall is now 7-5 in the UFC. MMAFO Score: 30-27 Maia

Stephan Bonnar defeats Igor Pokrajac in an odd bout by Unanimous Decision. Stephan controlled the fight wherever it went showing how well rounded he really is. During the 2nd round Igor landed multiple knees to Bonnar's head while on the ground and referee Steve Mazzagatti took 1 point away. In the final round, Stephan also lost a point for multiple strikes to the back of Igor's head. MMAFO Score: 29-26 Bonnar

Jonathan Brookins defeats Michael Johnson by Unanimous Decision to become the winner of the 12th edition of The Ultimate Fighter. I really like the attitudes of both these guys and they are going to be interesting to watch their future progress. Johnson came out strong and dropped Brookins with a punch and followed with some G&P. Back to the feet and Mike is just brutalizing Jon who survives a tough 1st round. Brookins responded in the 2nd holding Mike down and peppering "Springfield" with strikes and a nice slam. For the final round, Mike seemed to have lost his pep a bit and Brookins held him down and controlled the fight for the win. MMAFO Score: 29-28 Brookins

7-3 on the picks because I cannot count that debacle that was the Phan/Garcia bout. Nobody wins the "Fight Of The Night" honors.
