UFC Fight Night 24: Nogueira vs. Davis
March 26, 2011
Key Arena
Seattle, Washington
Main Bouts (On Spike TV):
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-4) vs. Phil Davis (8-0) "Mr. Wonderful" steps in for the always injured Tito Ortiz to face 1 of the few remaining members of the "old guard." The veterans are falling fast these days and "Lil Nog" needs this would be impressive win over a young wrestler which is the exact recipe that defeated him last out. The southpaw jab must be in play and avoiding the takedown at all costs is key and doubtful. Davis is a wrestling machine and Nog's takedown defense is porous these days and I envision Rogerio spending his whole night playing defense, exhausting himself getting back to the feet, and getting laid upon. The offensive skills aren't there quite yet but a judges nod will come from little damage but a smothering effort to Phil.
WINNER-Phil Davis by Decision
Dan Hardy (23-8) vs. Anthony Johnson (8-3) The walking around at 230 lbs. freak of nature returns from an injury and last fought in November 2009! Ring rust. The "Outlaw" is looking for his humility after getting lamped in England in front of his mates by Carlos Condit but both men are going to give us that punchers war that the "just bleed" fans love. "Rumble" is faster and has more power but who knows what condition his body will be in after the insane weight cut. I fear for Hardy if Johnson is hydrated but hope for the "Fight Of The Night."
WINNER-Anthony Johnson by Rd.3 TKO
Amir Sadollah (4-2) vs. Damarques Johnson (17-8) Duane Ludwig and James Wilks drop out of the fight leaving Amir to await the arrival of "Decent" Demarques. Sadollah has really developed a technically efficient kickboxing arsenal while Johnson.....sucks. Well he doesn't suck but he doesn't do anything well. Amir will push out to an early lead on the feet before reminding Demarques that he has slick submissions as well.
WINNER-Amir Sadollah Rd.3 Submisision
Leonard Garcia (15-6-1) vs. Chan Sung Jung (10-3) [Rematch] Mr. Garcia is the judges darling ever time they hand him a win he doesn't deserve. Garcia was supposed rematch Nam Phan (whom also got raped by the judges) but he got hurt. Now the "Korean Zombie" gets his chance at redemption and the fans get to watch two men swing wildly but not as wildly as the 1st fight. Who knows? Jung did get laced by George Roop but Garcia is due for some cum uppance.
WINNER-Chan Sung Jung by Decision
Prelims (On Facebook):
Alex Caceres (4-2) vs. Mackens Semerzier (5-3) Great, we get to see "Bruce Leroy" the annoying douche from TUF. Don't worry, "Mack da Menace" is going to end him. Don't let the 3 losses in a row fool you, Mackens is a better striker and will hurt this jester.

WINNER-Mackens Semerzier by Decision
Jon Madsen (7-0) vs. Mike Russow (13-1) 2 of the least exciting and least talented Heavyweights. Don't care.
WINNER-Jon Madsen by Decision
Prelims (Non-Televised):
John Hathaway (14-1) vs. Kris McCray (5-2) Now that rising phoenix Mike Pyle brought the realities of the Welterweight division and the competition level to John's attention, its time to get back to kicking ass. This is a "get right fight" for Hathaway who sends Kris packing to the minor leagues.

WINNER-John Hathaway by Decision
Michael McDonald (11-1) vs. Edwin Figueroa (7-0) I don't know who either of these guys are but the bout sounds exciting.
WINNER-"Mayday?"
Sean McCorkle (10-1) vs. Christian Morecraft (6-1) Stefan Struve made both these guys his bitch for their respective last outs, so let's put them against each other for a "Loser Leaves Town" match. Neither of these guys have impressed with any particular realm of MMA but at least "Big Sexy" is amusing.
WINNER-"Big Sexy?"
Johny Hendricks (9-1) vs. T.J. Waldburger (13-5) Rick Story put the 1st blemish on Johny's record but here his wrestling will hold sway as he gets a chance to exercise the work in progress stand up skills before the cards are read.
WINNER-Johny Hendricks by Decision
Mario Miranda (10-2) vs. Aaron Simpson (7-2) This is a fascinating styles clash where Mario needs to land almost instantly before "A-Train" bulldozes him into the mat for a 15 minute wrestling lesson.
WINNER-Aaron Simpson by Rd.3 TKO
Waylon Lowe (10-3) vs. Nik Lentz (20-3-2) "Belly Tat" has surprised my by staying employed with Zuffa but I think Nik ends that run here. Lowe has compact wrestling power but Lentz has the advantage everywhere else and is far more well rounded.
WINNER-Nik Lentz by Decision
This week on Fanhouse's MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Matt Mitrione delivered a bombshell that professional whore and Tito Ortiz cum dumpster Jenna Jameson will be stepping in to face Ryan Bader for the cowardly "HBBB." "Meathead" offered this advice to "Darth."
"Jenna is awesome off her back and she has phenomenal top control but remember that she doesn't choke easily."
Wonderful.
