UFC On Versus 3 Results: Sanchez Disfigured & KO's Aplenty

Igor Pokrajac TKO'd Todd Brown who could not make it to his corner after the 1st round. Igor got hurt early with a shot but battled through it An absolutely crushing knee to the temple drops Brown after an uppercut hurt him and its survive until the round ends.

Rousimar Palhares taps Dave Branch with a Heel Hook in the 2nd round. Cannot find it anywhere on the Internet. "Submission Of The Night?"

Dongi Yang TKO'd Rob Kimmons in the 2nd to rep Japan. The "Ox" gave Rob no room to move and just out muscled Kimmons.

Takeya Mizugaki ekes the Split-Decision over Reuben Duran.

Shane Roller KO's Thiago Tavares into oblivion in round 2. Roller was getting owned on the feet and the floor but in MMA it only takes 1. A huuuuge overhand right lands and Tavares is out before he hits the floor. A couple of extra shots land for Shane just for fun. "KO Of The Night"

Danny Castillo upsets Joe Stevenson by Unanimous Decision. "Daddy" is in some serious trouble losing to "Headband."

Cyrille Diabate lasted past Steve Cantwell for the Unanimous Decision. The "Snake" picked Steve apart all day as he lived up to the name "Robot" not adjusting his game or fighting his fight. Bad error but Diabate's empty gas tank didn't impress anybody.

Brian Bowles taps Damacio Page by the same Guillotine Choke at the same exact time (3:30) as the 1st bout. Welcome to the MMA Twilight Zone. Page is exciting and out of control as always while Bowles picks his spot and returns to victory from some tough injuries.

Chris Weidman upsets Alessio Sakara by Unanimous Decision after taking the fight on 2 weeks notice. Its wrestling G&P 101 all night long as the highly overrated Sakara is taken to school on the mat and blood flowed like a fountain.

Mark Munoz KO's C.B. Dollaway only 0:54 seconds into the bout. Ouch, that was embarrassing and Mark lands another heavy but lucky strike.

Diego Sanchez defeats Martin Kampmann by Unanimous Decision after a 3 round bloody war! The ahem, "Dream," caught a knee to the face and blood poured out of his mouth. It was disgusting and the "Hitman" proves the superior striker in the 1st. When restarted, Diego will not be denied and attacks with vengance. Sanchez presses the fight and lands hurting Martin twice though he never goes down and avoids all the takedown attempts impressively. For the final round the war continues and Diego hurts Martin and then finally lands that elusive takedown. Kampmann escapes back to the feet and lands a strike that leaves Diego's face a crimson mass. The "Dream Nightmare" pushes forward attacking and the bell rings. Amazing brutal grotesque fight. Diego looks like Sloth from the Goonies but we won the fight and the judges agree. "Fight Of The Night"
* Diego is still bleeding profusly for the post fight interview and I am surprised some people disagree with the decision. Looked pretty cut and dry 29-28 to me. Sanchez got destroyed in the initial frame and then stormed back with heart and determination. I'm not a big fan of the kid but that was impressive.

Notes:
It was great to hear Joe Rogan chastise the Kentucky crowd by saying, "Are they really chanting "U-S-A, U-S-A?" Hi Kentucky. He lives in America you douche." during the Alessio Sakara fight. So funny and I also noticed the crowed really went nuts when they saw blood on the foreigner (AS). Also Sakara wiped his blood on the refs shirt during a break to have the doctor check the cut which was new.

The cute sound effects on Vs. were annoying as hell and for half the night I thought someone in the crowd had a vuvuzela. 8-3 on the picking side.
