Strikeforce Columbus Cavalcante vs Henderson: Picks

Strikeforce Columbus
March 5, 2011
Nationwide Arena
Columbus, Ohio

Main Bouts (On Showtime):
Light Heavyweight Champion Rafael Cavalcante (10-2) vs. Dan Henderson (26-8) "Feijao" looking to defend his strap against a legend while "Hendo" needs a win to stay elite. If Dan takes this fight more seriously than he has some recent ones, he should edge the "Black House" protoge in all areas. Rafael can hit very hard yet we know Dan can as well. I would not be shocked if Cavalcante put Henderson to sleep if he caught him, but hopefully Dan takes the fight to the floor in the early goings,
WINNER-Dan Henderson by Rd.4 Submission

Women's Welterweight Champion Marloes Coenen (18-4) vs. Liz Carmouche (5-0) "Rumina" won me over against Sarah Kaufman last year. The "Girl-Rilla" is undefeated but too green to withstand the assault coming her way.
WINNER-Marloes Coenen buy Rd.2 TKO

Tim Kennedy (12-3) vs. Melvin Manhoef (24-8-1) Tim has all the abilities to become a champion some day while we all know the glaring weakness in Mel's game is the ground. If Tim doesn't stand in front of the kickboxing death machine as he has alluded, he will gas out "Manho" before pounding him out on the mat.
WINNER-Tim Kennedy by Rd. 3 TKO

Billy Evangelista (11-0) vs. Jorge Masvidal (20-6) Billy doesn't "wow" me as much as many but then again neither does Jorge. Flip the coin kids.
WINNER-Jorge Masvidal by Decision

Prelims (Non-Televised):
Roger Bowling (7-1) vs. Josh Thornberg (4-1) W-Bowling
Jorge Gurgel (13-7) vs. Billy Vaughn (9-6) W-Gurgel
Jason Riley (9-5) vs. Jason Freeman (5-4) W-Freeman
Brian Rogers (6-2) vs. Mojo Horne (5-1) W-Rogers
Marc Cofer (6-5) vs. Mitch Whitesel (15-19) W-Cofer
JP Felty (0-0) vs. John Kuhner (1-2) W-"JP"
