With Chan Sung Jung setting the world afire by submitting Leonard Garcia with the rare yeti submission known as the "Twister," many MMA fans are wondering what other titillating submissions are hiding out in the ether. I compiled a list of 7 of my personal favorites. As Jiu-Jitsu practitioners continue to evolve, these moves will eventually find their way into mainstream MMA.

MMA Melee: Cro Cop Not Done? Lesnar & The Undertaker, Sonnen vs Bisping, & The UFC Owns ALL!
MMA legend Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic finds his career teetering on the brink these days but still wants to compete if the UFC keeps him employed. "There's one fight left on my UFC contract. I will have this fight, regardless of what the reporters think. However, there's a possibility that the UFC will insist on not allowing me to fight. I will accept their decision. It's time to retire, despite the fact that I want to continue. Next year, it will be 20 years since my first fight... I had a great career, and I don't regret anything. But I don't want to finish it defeated. "I'm very sorry. I was more than ready for my last two fights, but still, I was unable to see the punches coming. I would like to apologize to all my fans. Believe me, I'm also very disappointed." said Mirko to the Croatian Press. I for 1,000 want to see him go out on a win and will always watch waiting for the left kick to send someone to the cemetery one last time.
Brock Lesnar finally gave an interview to Ariel Helwani and touched on many of the questions that have swirled from his title loss to Cain Velasquez. "I got hit with a punch I couldn't recover from" stated the former Champion. "2010 was an exhausting year, now I'm back fresh."
As far as the face to face meeting with the Undertaker after the loss, Brock stated, "I was a bit delirious, Cain put me on a street that I didn't know the name of. I don't know if Undertaker was there to fight or not."
As far as his willingness to do TUF 13, it sounds as though Dana White had to do some begging. "My first response to doing TUF 13 was no, I'm happy I did it now. I found the TUF experience refreshing and out of my comfort zone."
We begin the newest season of "The Ultimate Fighter" Wednesday night on Spike TV.
Michael Bisping has decided he wants to face Chael Sonnen to determine who is the biggest piece of shit in MMA. "I want to fight Chael Sonnen because No. 1, he's an amazing fighter," Bisping said. "When he fought last, he looked fantastic, and I want to challenge myself. He's the No. 2 ranked middleweight in the world. Obviously I can't fight No. 1 because he's got a title shot, so I want to fight the No. 2 guy. The things that Chael Sonnen comes out with, they're so outlandish that you can't help but laugh," he said. "Listen, I think he's brilliant. I've watched the stuff from his last fight. I was in stitches. I was laughing my ass off. Even comments he said about me after my last fight, I just had to laugh at that. You can't not laugh. Of course he's going to get in my head at the time, but hopefully I've learned from recent experiences. It'll make for a great fight I'm sure. That guy, he's quite a hypocrite," he said. "He's a steroid cheat, let's not forget that. He's had points taken away for illegally kneeing people himself, and then he goes out talking about me as if I'm Satan or something. The guy's an absolute hypocrite." Oh "Count" with your misdirection to keep fans from thinking about how blatantly you cheated to win your last bout and how childish you acted during and after. You are the gem of England sir.
Before the stick and stone throwing can commence between these two evils, Chael Sonnen must complete a sentencing hearing stemming from a federal money laundering guilty plea. The court date has been postponed to April 8th. The Team Quest member's contract is still frozen and will continue to be until Sonnen finishes with his court obligations. As a Republican, I'd imagine he'll get a pat on the back, a sucker, and be sent on his way.
Rener and Ryron Gracie like to post videos after UFC events explaining to fans how to use the submission moves they just witnessed on the PPVs. This week they taught the twister submission used by Chan Sung Jung used to defeat Leonard Garcia at UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle, WA. The video was posted this morning, but has now been removed from YouTube's website. Instead you will find "YouTube account Gracie Academy has been terminated because we received multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement from claimants including: Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation ZUFFA, LLC." Ummmm, so the UFC owns the rights to the Twister move? I think Eddie Bravo might have something to say about that. I mean seriously, the UFC is taking over the world. Hide your wife, hide your kids, and hide your new submission moves because Zuffa has laid claim to all that is MMA!
Finally and pathetically, Bobby Lashley and Phil Baroni struggled but managed to defeat the tomato cans in front of them at Titan Fighting Championships 17. Lashley was gassed in under 1 round and looked awful but not to be out done, the "NYBA" imitated the fighting style. Lashley, just go back to the WWE already. Nobody wants to see you fight Batista.

UFC UFN 24 Results: The Korean Zombie Unleashes The Twister!
Nik Lentz subs Waylon Lowe with a Guillotine Choke in the final round. The "Carny" has reeled off 5 UFC wins in a row (skipping the Draw) and has quietly made himself into a possible contender. Lentz best wins are over Tyson Griffin (though by controversial decision) and Andre Winner. Might be time to test this kid. Perhaps a Mark Bocek, Donald Cerrone, or Ross Pearson would provide the proper test.
Johny Hendricks TKO's Anthony Waldburger in the 1st for the win though Tony complained about the stoppage. Tony's got nothin' for Hendricks who continues to improve and I continue to tell people to watch him rise. "(T)KO Of The Night"
Christian Morecraft defeats Sean McCorkle by Guillotine Choke in the 2nd round. Oh Sean. It was a bit of back and forth in the 1st but nobody did very much. Between rounds McCorkle looked exhausted and for no reason except for he has a history stressing out which will gas out fighters quickly. As the round began it was obvious Sean had nothing left and Morecraft began to pull ahead with G&P and landing through Sean's awful standup. "Big Sexy" gave a half hearted attempt at a shot and landed right in Christian's standing guillotine. Props to the big fella he did not tapout instead blacking out before Morecraft just dropped his lifeless corpse. Tough loss for Sean who will most likely be cut though I would prefer to watch him over Jon Madsen or Mike Russow any day!
Michael McDonald defeats Edwin Figueroa by Unanimous Decision.
John Hathaway defeats Kris McCray by Split-Decision though is should have been Unanimous.
Mackens Semerzier taps Alex Caceres by RNC. "Bruce Leroy" proved he doesn't belong in the UFC and hopefully he'll be gone now.
Mike Russow defeats Jon Madsen by Doctor Stoppage. Madsen's left eye was completely closed forcing the end. This was a battle of 2 awful Heavyweights and its a shame we can't cut them both from the roster.
Chan Sung Jung defeats Leonard Garcia by submission with the 1st successful Twister in the UFC!! Finally the fight was taken out of the judges hands and of course, that spelled the end of the highly overrated "Bad Boy." The "Korean Zombie" started slower in this rematch knowing he desperately needed a win after 2 straight losses. Jung began to pull away slowly but surely as Leonard swung wildly without landing which generally wins him decisions. After an uppercut and flying knee landed, Garcia fell to the mat. There the "Zombie" latched onto his back securing a "body triangle" around Garcia's left thigh. Chan then postured up quickly locking on the rare and fabled "Twister" and forcing Garcia to tapout! Amazing submission and finally, finally Leonard gets some just deserts. I know its not his fault that he was treated like royalty by the judges, and for those counting at home, it was 7 fights in a row he lost though the record does not reflect accordingly. Cut his ass. Sung Jung is back to being a fan favorite with an epic submission and stole the entire show.
“When I started going in for the technique I knew there was less than thirty seconds left. That’s actually one of the reasons why I went for that move. If it was more than thirty seconds I probably wouldn’t have tried the move, but since there wasn’t much time left I kind of went for it and thankfully it worked out.” "Submission Of The Night"
Amir Sadollah defeats DaMarques Johnson who tapped out to Elbow strikes. Look, DaMarques took this fight on 2 weeks notice after 2 guys dropped out. The "Darkness" (weirdest nickname eva?) did fine early taking Amir down and controlling him on the mat. In the 2nd, Amir got rolling as his technical striking began to land with pinpoint accuracy and Johnson began to gas. Bloody and hurt, DaMarques took an elbow beating on the ground as Amir trapped 1 of his arms leaving the "Darkness" unprotected and he tapped to strikes which is a big no-no. Ah well. Amir looked alright but not a great performance over a run he should have powned.
Aaron Simpson defeats Mario Miranda by Unanimous Decision. In the styles clash wrestling usually beats striking and that was the case here.
Johny Hendricks TKO's Anthony Waldburger in the 1st for the win though Tony complained about the stoppage. Tony's got nothin' for Hendricks who continues to improve and I continue to tell people to watch him rise. "(T)KO Of The Night"

Sung Jung is back to being a fan favorite with an epic submission and stole the entire show.
“It’s something that I saw a long time ago on the Internet on video,” Jung said via a translator during Saturday night’s post-fight press conference. “It’s one of Eddie Bravo’s techniques. It’s something I practiced because it just looks fun, and so I do it quite a bit in practice. I always told people I was going to try it some time in competition and I wanted to do it in the UFC and I was able to…”
“When I started going in for the technique I knew there was less than thirty seconds left. That’s actually one of the reasons why I went for that move. If it was more than thirty seconds I probably wouldn’t have tried the move, but since there wasn’t much time left I kind of went for it and thankfully it worked out.” "Submission Of The Night"

Amir looked alright but not a great performance over a run he should have powned.
Anthony Johnson defeats Dan Hardy by Unanimous Decision. Before the fight both men had said in interviews that they were going to "stand & bang" looking to make it the fight of the night. "Rumble" landed a head kick early that hurt and dropped the "Outlaw" but Johnson could not finish. From there, the entire fight was Anthony taking Dan down and doing the L&P for the duration. Dan's takedown defense is a joke but how about that gentleman's agreement? Seems kinda like he suckered the "Outlaw." It wasn't pretty, or entertaining, but "Rumble" makes a successful return while Hardy has now lost 3 in a row. Don't worry "Outlaw" fans, when asked if he would be cut at the press conference, Dana White replied, "Not necessarily. We’ll have to wait and see. "I fucking love that kid."
Phil Davis defeats Antonio Rogerio Nogueira by Unanimous Decision. "Mr.Decent" did enough to out wrestle "Lil Nog" and landed some good kicks. Nog was just too slow and could not get off his back fast enough to have a shot at winning the rounds. Phil still needs to learn some effective G&P something that is vastly lacking in his game. A nice "name" win moves Davis along and poor Rogerio has some time left but we see the end coming. Luiz Cane, Stephan Bonnar, or Alexander Gustafsson would all provide a good test for "Mr. Wonderful's" next outing.
10-2 on the picking side and MMAFO award's nobody a "Fight Of The Night" because nobody deserved it.

UFC Fight Night 24: Nogueira vs Davis
UFC Fight Night 24: Nogueira vs. Davis
March 26, 2011
Key Arena
Seattle, Washington
Main Bouts (On Spike TV):
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-4) vs. Phil Davis (8-0) "Mr. Wonderful" steps in for the always injured Tito Ortiz to face 1 of the few remaining members of the "old guard." The veterans are falling fast these days and "Lil Nog" needs this would be impressive win over a young wrestler which is the exact recipe that defeated him last out. The southpaw jab must be in play and avoiding the takedown at all costs is key and doubtful. Davis is a wrestling machine and Nog's takedown defense is porous these days and I envision Rogerio spending his whole night playing defense, exhausting himself getting back to the feet, and getting laid upon. The offensive skills aren't there quite yet but a judges nod will come from little damage but a smothering effort to Phil.
WINNER-Phil Davis by Decision
Dan Hardy (23-8) vs. Anthony Johnson (8-3) The walking around at 230 lbs. freak of nature returns from an injury and last fought in November 2009! Ring rust. The "Outlaw" is looking for his humility after getting lamped in England in front of his mates by Carlos Condit but both men are going to give us that punchers war that the "just bleed" fans love. "Rumble" is faster and has more power but who knows what condition his body will be in after the insane weight cut. I fear for Hardy if Johnson is hydrated but hope for the "Fight Of The Night."
WINNER-Anthony Johnson by Rd.3 TKO
Amir Sadollah (4-2) vs. Damarques Johnson (17-8) Duane Ludwig and James Wilks drop out of the fight leaving Amir to await the arrival of "Decent" Demarques. Sadollah has really developed a technically efficient kickboxing arsenal while Johnson.....sucks. Well he doesn't suck but he doesn't do anything well. Amir will push out to an early lead on the feet before reminding Demarques that he has slick submissions as well.
WINNER-Amir Sadollah Rd.3 Submisision
Leonard Garcia (15-6-1) vs. Chan Sung Jung (10-3) [Rematch] Mr. Garcia is the judges darling ever time they hand him a win he doesn't deserve. Garcia was supposed rematch Nam Phan (whom also got raped by the judges) but he got hurt. Now the "Korean Zombie" gets his chance at redemption and the fans get to watch two men swing wildly but not as wildly as the 1st fight. Who knows? Jung did get laced by George Roop but Garcia is due for some cum uppance.
WINNER-Chan Sung Jung by Decision
Prelims (On Facebook):
Alex Caceres (4-2) vs. Mackens Semerzier (5-3) Great, we get to see "Bruce Leroy" the annoying douche from TUF. Don't worry, "Mack da Menace" is going to end him. Don't let the 3 losses in a row fool you, Mackens is a better striker and will hurt this jester.
WINNER-Mackens Semerzier by Decision
Jon Madsen (7-0) vs. Mike Russow (13-1) 2 of the least exciting and least talented Heavyweights. Don't care.
WINNER-Jon Madsen by Decision
Prelims (Non-Televised):
John Hathaway (14-1) vs. Kris McCray (5-2) Now that rising phoenix Mike Pyle brought the realities of the Welterweight division and the competition level to John's attention, its time to get back to kicking ass. This is a "get right fight" for Hathaway who sends Kris packing to the minor leagues.
WINNER-John Hathaway by Decision
Michael McDonald (11-1) vs. Edwin Figueroa (7-0) I don't know who either of these guys are but the bout sounds exciting.
WINNER-"Mayday?"
Sean McCorkle (10-1) vs. Christian Morecraft (6-1) Stefan Struve made both these guys his bitch for their respective last outs, so let's put them against each other for a "Loser Leaves Town" match. Neither of these guys have impressed with any particular realm of MMA but at least "Big Sexy" is amusing.
WINNER-"Big Sexy?"
Johny Hendricks (9-1) vs. T.J. Waldburger (13-5) Rick Story put the 1st blemish on Johny's record but here his wrestling will hold sway as he gets a chance to exercise the work in progress stand up skills before the cards are read.
WINNER-Johny Hendricks by Decision
Mario Miranda (10-2) vs. Aaron Simpson (7-2) This is a fascinating styles clash where Mario needs to land almost instantly before "A-Train" bulldozes him into the mat for a 15 minute wrestling lesson.
WINNER-Aaron Simpson by Rd.3 TKO
Waylon Lowe (10-3) vs. Nik Lentz (20-3-2) "Belly Tat" has surprised my by staying employed with Zuffa but I think Nik ends that run here. Lowe has compact wrestling power but Lentz has the advantage everywhere else and is far more well rounded.
WINNER-Nik Lentz by Decision
This week on Fanhouse's MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Matt Mitrione delivered a bombshell that professional whore and Tito Ortiz cum dumpster Jenna Jameson will be stepping in to face Ryan Bader for the cowardly "HBBB." "Meathead" offered this advice to "Darth."
"Jenna is awesome off her back and she has phenomenal top control but remember that she doesn't choke easily."
Wonderful.

UFC 128 Post Post + Pictures
Jon "Bones" Jones proved the hype wrong. There was not enough as he demolished "Shogun" Rua and became the biggest MMA star today!
Coach Mike Winkeljohn stated after the fight, “There was a turning point after the second round where we were real scared, because [Jones] was tired. He had pressed all day long. Well, shit, the whole last two weeks, [cameras] following him around 24-7. I think all that hoopla got to him, and the pressure got to him a little bit. He was tired after the second round, and I was worried. But you know what he did? He pushed through it, and that is a champion. That is a veteran. At 23 years old, that is incredible."
If that weren't enough, before he forcefully took the strap, Jones was doing what has become his ritual before a fight, meditating at a park in Patterson, NJ when he heard a woman scream, "I've been robbed!" Jones began chasing the man for a good distance. When the fighter caught up with the alleged robber, he knocked the guy's legs out from under him, then placed him in a figure-four leg lock until Paterson cops arrived. "I caught him....Coach Jackson finished him ... It feels so good to help others. It gives me power and energy." said an elated Jon.
But things aren't all gravy as teammate Rashad Evans is the #1 contender. Coach Greg Jackson had said he would pull out and corner neither fighter but now "Suga" has spoke up and bashed his now former coach on Twitter. "Many of u probably already seen that I got offered the title shot & decided 2 take it. @jonnybones fought amazing! I'm very happy 4 him! I no longer will use Greg Jackson as my coach but we r still coo! 505 4life I will not use Greg ever again.. I really haven't used him in a while anyways.. In my last 2 fights I trained with him 5x's.. Greg brought this situation about. He brought Jones on board a while back against my wishes & here we r today. so I decided 2 leave Greg because I felt like he didn't have my best interest anymore. Greg is not the same coach he use 2 b."
This is going to get real ugly before it is settled in the cage. Mark my words. In the meanwhile, Jones is a walking superhero.
Greg Jackson's camp is possibly avoiding more turmoil as Nate Marquardt is contemplating a move to Welterweight if Georges St. Pierre moves up to Middleweight. The "Great" is a large 185er and I have no idea how he could make this weight. Nate easily dispatched Dan Miller by Decision but he also doesn't want to face teammate and friend GSP in battle.
Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic has been cut from the UFC. 27-9-2 in a MMA career full of highlights and the awe of fans across the world. 4-5 in the UFC, time simply caught up to the man who never quite made a full transition from K-1 to MMA. Luckily, his stand up was so devastating that he destroyed more than he lost and developed a takedown defense 2nd to none. It is simply time to walk away as we sadly see the "old guard" pass on the torch. Mirko has not officially retired but had said before if he was cut from the UFC that he would retire. We shall see.
Speaking of the new guard, Brendan Schaub has called out Antonio Nogueira for a fight in his home of Brazil. Obviously the "Hybrid" has noticed the age on some of these "legends" and is using the end of their careers to make his name. Nothing wrong with that but the guy is a fraudulent asshole. Nice work last night fighting dirty and getting a point deducted which people have immediately forgot. Punching to the back of the head is illegal and Schaub did it all night. Welcome to my shitlist homie.
The fact that Jim Miller isn't the #1 contender to Frankie Edgar is nothing short of a crime. That's 7 in a row in the UFC and 20-2 overall. Two straight finishes quiets the fans whispering "decision fighter" and does he just get no love because he is humble and doesn't talk shit to other fighters? I didn't think you should be punished for that. The UFC needs to take care of this guy financially or with the title shot he deserves.
Mauricio Rua: Suspended indefinitely pending CT head scan, minimum 60-day suspension for TKO loss
Brendan Schaub: Suspended indefinitely pending CT scan of facial/orbital bones, minimum 60-day suspension for facial laceration
Mirko Filipovic: Suspended indefinitely pending CT head scan, minimum 30-day suspension for knockout loss and facial lacerations
Raphael Assuncao: Suspended 30 days for knockout loss
Jon Jones: Suspended indefinitely pending X-ray, MRI and orthopedic clearance of right hand
Kamal Shalorus: Suspended indefinitely pending CT scan of facial/orbital bones
Luiz Cane: Suspended indefinitely pending X-ray and orthopedic clearance of left thumb
Eliot Marshall: Suspended indefinitely pending CT head scan, minimum 30-day suspension for TKO loss
Edson Barboza: Suspended indefinitely pending X-ray of right hand and right knee
Ian Loveland: Suspended indefinitely pending MRI and orthopedic clearance of right ankle
How strange to see Dan Henderson and Jason Miller in the UFC stands making nice with new Strikeforce owners Zuffa. Good to see Dana and Dan bridging the gap.
UFC 128 Results: "Bones" Jones NEW Light Heavyweight Champion + Faber, Miller, & Marquardt All Win
Erik Koch KO'd Raphael Assuncao in the 1st round of the 1st fight of the evening. The bubble headed striker brought the Roufusport magic and the reach advantage and technical skill was sizable. Nice work and welcome to the UFC kid. "KO Of The Night"
Nick Catone defeats Constantinos Philippou by Unanimous Decision. Yup.
Joseph Benavidez defeated Ian Loveland by Unanimous Decision in a gritty affair. Ian had the game early but Joe kept his composure and delivered his standard wrestling beatdown.
Gleison Tibau bests Kurt Pellegrino by Split-Decision. The partisan Jersey crowd can boo all they want but Tibau won that fight. Kurt absolutely faded away and Gleison sealed it with the takedown. 29-28 across the board.
Mike Pyle upsets Ricardo Almeida by Unanimous Decision. Pyle caught "Big Dog" early and often with surprisingly good muay thai and refusing to fight on the floor. Almeida's takedown attempts were awful and he was gassed out while Pyle came on stronger. Impressive stuff from Xtreme Couture and Renzo's student finds himself in serious trouble.
Edson Barboza Jr. stays undefeated beating Anthony Njokuani by Unanimous Decision. Have not seen it yet. "Fight Of The Night" from what I hear.
* OK saw it. Yes it was fight of the night for sure. These boys threw down standing in a very entertaining kickboxing bout. Check the end for the impressive spinning head kick.
Luis Artur Cane TKO'd Eliot Marshall in the very 1st round. It was quickly apparent that "Fire" had no business being back in the UFC even as a late replacement. His takedown attempts were half-hearted at best and "Banha" just rocked him with a left hand and then swarmed the hurt foe with a blitzkreig of strikes. It was a ton of abuse before the ref finally stepped in and halted the rape.
Brendan Schaub KO'd Mirko Filipovic in the 3rd round. Fuck him.
Nate Marquardt school'd Dan Miller by Unanimous Decision. This is the Jon Fitch of the Middleweights. Nate will always be the 2nd best 185er while Anderson Silva is still breathing. Everyone else is screwed.
Jim Miller TKO'd Kamal Shalorus in the 3rd round and is the legitimate #1 contender to the Lightweight title! I love to say I told ya so and this guy is improving in leaps and bounds much like champion Frankie Edgar. Honestly, I don't think Anthony Pettis deserves a title shot but he'll get it if he beats Clay Guida. Miller may have to face upset special Dennis Siver.
Urijah Faber defeats Eddie Wineland by Unanimous Decision giving the "California Kid" his 1st UFC win. Ed came out strong stuffing Faber's takedowns but Urijah is not 1 to be denied and got on track in the 2nd. Growing stronger in the 3rd the "Kid" sealed the deal late. Afta, afta, Faber called out Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz (whom he has already beaten).
* The boss, Dana White has confirmed Urijah Faber as the new #1 contender! I smell bad blood rematch!
Jon Jones TKO's Mauricio Rua with punches and knees to become the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion at age 23. Jeeezus! "Bones" just destroyed "Shogun" with a poise and calm that was spooky. Rua never got into the fight and could not get near the taller fighter. Jon threw a spinning back elbow against the fence but it was the takedowns with brutal G&P and disrupting the air flow that wore down Mauricio. For the 3rd round "Shogun" looked beaten and bloody as the flowing Jones strode toward the title. The best elbows in the biz tear Rua apart and he turtles up. Back up only to eat a hard left to the body and another knee to drop him and end the fight. WOOOOOOOOOOW. This kid is ridiculous. I cannot believe how good this kid is and how easily he did it. The hype was wrong, it wasn't enough. Just amazing stuff.
* The crowd boos as Rashad Evans is brought in to become the #1 contender and the teammates will fight.
9-3 on the picks and some bad news coming tomorrow.

UFC 128 "Shogun" vs Jones: Picks & Prognostications
UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones
March 19, 2011
Prudential Center
Newark, New Jersey
Main Bouts (PPV):
Mauricio Rua (19-4) vs. Jon Jones (12-1) "Bones" gets the opportunity of a lifetime but he has a taller task ahead of him than people think. Anyone else notice Jones spindly legs? "Shogun" loves to leg kick and as "Fight Science" on ESPN showed us, he has the most power ever measured from a leg kick. Hmmm. Rua also has power in the hands and floor game to confuse anyone. Jon is a mere 23 years old with exciting striking and the largest reach advantage in the UFC. Rua has dealt with reach disadvantage against the likes of Alistair Overeem and the Nogueira's and beaten a who's who of the MMA elite while the best Jon has met in action is the overrated Ryan Bader. That is a vast gap in competition and for a number of years. Yes, Jones has that "it" factor and "Bonesmania" is in full tilt, but i still see him being to green for a healthy veteran "Shogun."
WINNER-"Shogun" Rua by Rd.3 TKO
Urijah Faber (24-4) vs. Eddie Wineland (18-6-1) Like I'm not going to pick the "California Kid" in his official UFC debut. C'mon. Ed is no joke and has a vicious streak a mile long. Faber will have the power advantage and is just far too creative and developed in MMA for most fighters. It will be a war, but Faber finds a way in the end.
WINNER-Urijah Faber by Decision
Jim Miller (19-2) vs. Kamal Shalorus (7-0-2) How cute. The Miller brothers get to fight back to back on the same card. Awwwwwww. Kamal is undefeated with a head the size of a Macy's Day float, while Miller keeps getting overlooked in the Lightweight title scene. This won't be easy but for Jim nothing is. He is always given the toughest competition and rewarded with little. Keep winning Jim, that title shot will come.
WINNER-Jim Miller by Decision
Nate Marquardt (30-10-2) vs. Dan Miller (13-4) "Sexyama" pulled out due to some Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan (what? hadn't heard anything?) and Dan Miller still has not learned how to turn down a fight. Nate is just better everywhere and Dan cannot strike anywhere near Marquardt's ability.
WINNER-Nate Marquardt by Rd.3 TKO
Brendan Schaub (7-1) vs. Mirko Filipovic (27-8-2) I know this match was made for the UFC to put Schaub into the Heavyweight mix in a passing of the torch kinda thing. He is younger faster stronger but I don't give a damn. The guy is a prick. "Cro Cop" is a legend and I will never pick against "Cro Cop" until he has retired. My rule suck it. Let's go "Mirko."
WINNER-Mirko "Cro Cop" by Rd.1 KO
Prelims (On Spike TV):
Luiz Cane (10-3) vs. Eliot Marshall (10-2) Great. The "Fire" Marshall is back in the UFC and ready to just bore the living shit out of us. If "Banha" doesn't win this bout he will find himself on the minor circuit much like Eliot did only a few months ago. If Marshall can keep this fight floored he has a chance to put everyone to sleep in the crowd, though his opponent will be safe. Luiz has to have this win and is the far better striker. He must use his game and avoid the ground at all costs.
Anthony Njokuani (13-4) vs. Edson Barboza Jr. (7-0) Expect a kickboxing war people! Both men have exciting blistering stand up skills Mendes has naughty leg kicks, more speed, and power while Njokuani has skinny legs. =?

Prelims (On Facebook):
Ricardo Almeida (13-4) vs. Mike Pyle (20-7-1) I like "Big Dog" to overpower "Quicksand" though he can hang with the Renzo Gracie protege in Jiu-Jitsu. The Matt Hughes fight was a stumbling block but should only serve to make Ric better. Almeida goes back to basics avoiding the stand up game and engaging in a strategy battle on the floor gaining enough to win on points by Pyle will be game. Ricardo also is performing in front of the home crowd.
Kurt Pellegrino (16-5) vs. Gleison Tibau (21-7) This is a very intriguing fight between 2 very sturdy Lightweight veterans. "Batman" has done it all except the title and Tibau is coming on strong in his bid to run for the title. Tibau has really been improving his game while I almost believe Kurt has lost a step after a grinding career. Take ATT to takedown Pelligrino over and over (though he won't be held there) and eventually win a judges nod. Size and strength will go to Tibau but his large size tends to tap his cardio so beware.

Prelims (Non-Televised):
Joseph Benavidez (13-2) vs. Ian Loveland (14-7) "Lil' Angry" as I like to refer to Joey, brings his crazy Team Alpha Male wrestling as per usual without the impressive stand up. 7 wins in a row for the Team Quest member who will be dry humped for a humiliating 3 rounds.

Erik Koch (11-1) vs. Raphael Assuncao (16-3) The "Ascension" fighter will bring the boring game while Koch will be looking for something eye opening an exciting befitting a member of the rabble rousing Roufusport athletes. Will we be bored watching the Ass ply his trade, or will more highlights emerge from the Roufusport camp?

Nick Catone (8-2) vs. Costantinos Philippou (7-1) This is a Catchweight bout @ 194 lbs. Philipooo, ahem, takes this fight on very short notice while the "Jersey Devil" had a full camp.

Zuffa Purchases Strikeforce
Dana White buys them or kills them. Pride FC- buy. IFL - kill. WEC - buy .Elite XC, Affliction, Bodog. Kill Kill Kill! Now he has bought the only significant rival to the UFC.
With the purchase, Zuffa now controls the contracts of almost every top ranked fighter in the sport, other than a handful in Bellator and in Japan.
UFC President Dana White discusses the details in an exclusive interview with Ariel Helwani.
"It's literally official right now. We just closed the deal. As we continue to grow and expand in more countries, one of the things is we need more fights. Strikeforce is a brand that fans have come to like. They do have a following, people enjoy the fights that they are putting on and it made sense to us."
Why did Zuffa buy Strikeforce?
“As we go out and (continue to expand), we need more fights. Let's face facts. Strikeforce is a brand that fans have come to like and enjoy the fights that they're putting on. So it made sense to us. Our job is to put on the big fights that fans want to see, and as we continue to travel, we have to put on the right fights in these other countries.”
On Scott Coker:
“We've signed a deal with Scott Coker. He's staying on. You've seen me battle with guys over the years, but I’ve never had a bad thing to say about Scott Coker. I’ve known Scott since the K-1 days. Scott is a good guy.”
On Strikeforce:
"That's a separate business that has their own income. They have their own budgets and everything else that they do. They have they're own television deals. If they're that interested in acquiring (a fighter), it's no different than it was before."
On Showtime:
"Strikeforce is going to continue to run business as usual. There are contracts in place. These guys are on Showtime. Strikeforce pulls good ratings for Showtime. I think Showtime is happy with them. All those contracts will be honored. These guys are going to remain Strikeforce fighters ... Lorenzo can go over there and deal with Showtime. I'm sure the last time Showtime wants to see is me show up at the doorstep and go over and start having conversations."
"Could guys from the UFC leave and end up over in Strikeforce? Yeah,"
On Co Promotion:
"We won't be doing any superfights. Even when we own it, we don't co-promote, period."
On figures like Josh Barnett, Fedor Emelianenko, Paul Daley, Frank Shamrock, Pat Miletich, etc:
"There's a lot of guys on that side of the table who don't like me. I don't want to make anybody feel uncomfortable over there. ... If we didn't own the company, you wouldn't see me hanging out at a Strikeforce event, and you probably won't see me at one now that we do."
Terms of the purchase were not immediately disclosed, but White characterized the transaction as "a good deal." source- mmafighting.com
