Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Renzo Gracie 2 At Metamoris!

August 27, 2000 at Pride FC 10, Kazushi Sakuraba met and defeated Renzo Gracie in the middle of the Kaz vs. Gracie family feud. Kazushi had already bested Royler Gracie and family figurehead Royce Gracie in the legendary promotion. Now it was Renzo's turn to try and claim victory over the man who was single handily taking down the fabled Gracie clan.

Renzo used a different approach than his brothers had previously tried, attacking early with aggressive punches and kicks which Saku countered. Next, the former pro wrestler brought his grappling into the fight cartwheeling past the Gracie's guard and even throwing a dropkick! Pressed against the belt buckle, Sakuraba locked in the Kimura and spun Renzo to the canvas wrenching his arm behind his back. The Gracie's elbow snapped before hitting the ground, and upon impact, Renzo refused to tap and simply stared at his wounded limb in defiance. The referee intervened to halt the contest and Kazushi Sakuraba, dubbed the "Gracie Hunter" before the match, was victorious yet again.

Now, 14 years later, the two legends meet once again in a Jiu-Jitsu grappling match at Metamoris 5! The importance of the matchup may not reflect the initial contest, but there is no denying the legendary status of these two combatants!
