Randa Markos vs. Aisling Daly
Rd.1 The hometown “Quiet Storm” is landing her punches off the bat while the “Bash” struggles to get going. Markos looked for the arm triangle choke before transitioning to the armbar. The Irishwoman defends well to ensure another round. (10-9 Markos)
Rd.3 It all comes down to the final round as Randa used the big brother headlock to toss Daly to the mat where she peppered her with punches. Then Markos got Aisling into the armbar position but the "Bash" defended well until the final bell. (10-9 Markos)
* Not a great fight by either woman to be honest. Markos was tired early and neither displayed a whole lot of good technique whether standing or grappling. Just kind of a sloppy fight and both women are more capable than they appeared.
Fight Grade- C-
Randa Markos defeated Aisling Daly by Unanimous Decision (29-28 2x, 30-27)
Valerie Letourneau vs. Jessica Rakoczy
Rd.1 Valerie gets Jessica in a tight looking armbar/triangle choke and even a heel hook later on but Rakoczy fought through both while getting in a few punches. (10-9 Letourneau)
Rd.2 Jessica’s right eye was badly swollen to start the 2nd round but it was the boxer that was initiating the clinch against the cage. They finally broke apart and Letourneau began to land the strikes. A nice body kick from Val with a minute to go in the 2nd and Jessica’s eye is looking gruesome as it swells. Rakoczy lands a nice left hook but eats and uppercut and leg kicks. (10-9 Letourneau)

Rd.3 The doctors take a look at Jessica’s eye and the final round begins with Rakoczy’s corner lying to her saying the fight is 1-1 when its obviously 2-0 for Letourneau. A left head kick to Jessica’s blinded eye from Valerie is the best strike of the night so far! “Trouble” is turning up the hits mixing leg kicks, body kicks, and left hands as Rakoczy presses her into the cage for a respite. A good kick to the body followed by some short elbows and again Rakoczy uses the cage to slow the assault. The women trade shots as we head to the final bell and Letourneau gets a takedown in the final seconds to seal the deal. (10-9 Letourneau)

Rd.3 Clements continues to spend the evening on his back until a minute and a half is left in which Chris goes for broke only to be grounded yet again. An elbow cuts Clements open and he's visibly frustrated at being held down for 15 minutes. (10-9 Taleb)
* Not much to say here. Taleb used his grappling all night for which Clements had no answer. Pretty boring.

Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. David Michaud
Rd.1 OAM gets the 1st takedown but David is instantly back up in the 3 point position. Olivier is landing punches to the thighs, knees to the thighs, and occasional punches while controlling the action. The Canadian takes Michaud's back but they hand fight preventing the choke. (10-9 Aubin-Mercier)
Rd.2 We begin the 6th minute on the feet and the MMAFO staff remarks that these guys look like doppelgangers of each other. Not to be racist or anything. Mercier hits a weak superman punch as these guys both miss until a big right hook drops the Canadian for a second. A high kick from Michaud and an answer right punch from Olivier. David is dropped with a kick to the liver and OAM looks at the ref to stop the fight but the American comes back to life! A 1-2 from Michaud then both guys miss punches until the end of the odd back and forth round. (10-9 Aubin-Mercier)
Rd.3 The Canadian attacks instantly trying to secure a takedown and moves into back position. Olivier wrenches on the choke and the American quickly taps!
* Another average at best fight. Nothing important save for Mercier's strange dance at the end. Four lame fights to start the card but we are 4-0 on the picks.

Another nice leg kick for Barberena who presses the fight while Laprise is coasting. Body kick from Bryan who has his Nick Diaz, "come at me bro," hands going in this fight. (10-9 Barberena)
Rd.3 Tied up going into the final 5 and Bryan's left eye is bleeding a touch. Laprise starting to get back in with the jab and Barberena throws Chad to the ground from the clinch. Both men stand back up and grapple against the fence for a moment. They dirty box in the clinch and the American is still pushing the pace. A 1-2 from Barberena and Chad is bleeding from his head and running away from the fight. A spinning back kick from Laprise but Bryan is keeping things dirty. Elbows from Sarah in the clinch and more punches from Kaufman to seal the round. (10-9 Kaufman)
Rd.2 Both women are throwing combinations and landing to start the round. Sarah lands but Alexis is doing a much better job of moving away from the strikes and getting in some herself. Body kick from Davis and in a scramble Alexis lands on Kaufman looking for a mounted triangle. Davis turns to her back with Kaufman still in the triangle choke while Sarah punches to the body. Kaufman hammerfists but Davis secures the armbar and Sarah is tapping though the referee didn't see it initially. "Submission of the Night"
The armbar continues to be the achilles heel for Kaufman but Alexis gets some much needed redemption. Good fight.
Fight Grade- B-
Alexis Davis submits Sarah Kaufman with an Armbar at 1:52 of the 2nd round.
* MMAFO warned you all. Nobody in MMA ever gets the 3rd win in a row over the same opponent. We should follow our own rules.
Patrick Cote vs. Joe Riggs
Rd.1 The crowd is chanting "Cote," instantly and Riggs grabs the back taking Pat down. Cote stands up but Riggs is still on his back. Back down and Cote escapes while unloading the fists. * Joe Riggs actually seemed surprised and angered by the decision which is pretty funny considering how clear cut this fight was.

Main Card
Thomas Almeida vs. Yves Jabouin
Rd.1 Chute Boxe in the hizzy bitches! Jabouin is showing strange formations with his hands perhaps trying to confuse his younger opponent and Yves hits a beautiful takedown into Thomas' guard. Almeida uses a single leg to stand back up and eats a shot for his effort. A body then head shot as Thomas finally gets some offense going. A nice right jab from Almeida and a stern straight left. Body kick from Yves and two combinations in a row land for Almeida. Now Thomas is picking up the pace and countering with left hooks as Jabouin is hurt from a straight right hand. Yves is staggering on his feet and Thomas is unleashing hellish body/head, body/head, over and over until the referee steps in to halt the assault! "(T)KO of the Night"
Fight Grade- B+
Thomas Almeida TKO's Yves Jabouin at 4:18 of the very 1st round with Strikes.

Bodyshot from John who defends the takedown attempt. Big right hand pops up Shane's head as he collapses to the canvas! Michael Bisping vs. C.B. Dollaway
"Woohoo," and here comes the "Count" to Blur's "Song 2" ta get the shit started!
Rd.2 Bisping is aggressively reaching with his punches which is not a good thing. CB remains patient as a right lands for the "Count." A combo from Mike but CB responds with a nice counter right. Bad flying knee from the Brit who shrugs off a Dollaway takedown attempt. Right and a 1-2 from Bisping but there isn't much on them. Body kick from Bisping and a knee is a set up for a 1-2 which backs CB away. Body punches from Mikey who takes a couple jabs and then two left hooks. The crowd is chanting "let's go Bisping," and a slapping right hits CB's dome. A takedown in the final seconds for Dollaway. (10-9 Bisping)

"Fight of the Night"
Fight Grade- B
Michael Bisping defeats CB Dollaway by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x) in a great fight!
Quinton Jackson vs. Fabio Maldonado
Fabio comes out to the preparation circle and has to get his big toe nail clipped which MMAFO has never seen done before. Kudos to the referee who caught the infraction and handled the situation. "Rampage" enters for what may be his final UFC fight if Bellator's lawsuit is found true.
Rd.1 C'mon Fabio, pull the Upset! We're off and a couple of hooks catch Fabio coming in. A rare leg kick from "Rampage" and Maldonado calls him on. They clinch against the fence and hand fight a bit and another left hook for Jackson. A nice quick combo from "Rampage" and the 1st body punch from Fabio. "Flabby Fabby" isn't doing much and a right uppercut for Jackson on the Brazilian. Uppercuts and bombs from Jackson with Maldonado against the cage. The clock on the TV resets to the original 5:00 mark for some reason and is then taken off the screen. Now the clock is fixed and with 30 seconds to go not much has happened. Fabio is calling "Rampage" on to fight but doing nothing. (10-9 Jackson)
Rd.2 A bunch of rights for "Rampage" to start and he complains of an eye poke but the ref tells them to fight on. Clinched against the cage yet again for some hand fighting until they break apart. Both men throwing short shots and then clinching for little to no action. Uppercut from Jackson on the break and a couple rights from "Fabby" who calls on Jackson who scores a 3 punch combination. Body shot from "Rampage" and a right hand hits and we find the fence again as the crowd boo's. Knee from Quinton and a body shot from Fabio and then two more. Here comes the jab now from Maldonado who is picking up the pace. 3 punch combo again for "Rampage" and Fabio is silent yet again. Quinton is teeing off for a bit in the final seconds and "Fabby" gets the takedown in the final seconds. This fight is bad. (10-9 Jackson)
Rd.3 Jackson looks fine cardio wise as we begin the final 5 and Jackson punches his way in before retreating to the center of the Octagon. Solid body shot from "Rampage" and he shows some head movement avoiding Fabio's jab. Fabio pops Jackson in the jaw and Maldonado is just not throwing many punches. Body, body, head from "Rampage" and Quinton is sparring at this point. The crowd is booing and rightfully so as this fight is lame at best. Jackson is busier and the Brazilian is baffling us with his lack of effort. Terrible fight and the UFC may just let Jackson return to Bellator as the crowd boo's their disapproval. (10-9 Jackson)
Fight Grade- D
Quinton Jackson defeats Fabio Maldonado by Unanimous Decision (30-27 2x, 29-28) for a bushel of "who gives a shit."
* The "Canadian Psycho" Rory MacDonald is shown in the crowd with his normal awkwardness.
Main Event
Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson vs. Kyoji Horiguchi
Rd.1 "Mighty Mouse" is very low to start almost crawling across the cage at the beginning. Kyoji with the wide "Kid" Yamamoto stance as Johnson is caught off balance for just a second and can't get a single leg attempt. Johnson catches Horiguchi's leg and pushes him against the cage. The Japanese challenger sprawls well. A 4 punch combination into a knee to the body and a takedown for "Mighty Mouse." Shoulder strikes and some short right hands from the Champ who looks for full mount but a savvy Kyoji uses timing to get back to his feet and land a savage leg kick. Again, Johnson catches a Horiguchi kick at the end of the round. (10-9 Johnson)
Rd.2 Superstar coach Matt Hume wants "Mighty Mouse" to get closer in the 2nd round. Left hand and a knee from Johnson early and the exact answer from Horiguchi. Kyoji trips Demetrious to the mat but not for long. A double-leg takedown for the Champ who collects the knees of his foe together to keep him in place. Smart stuff. "Mighty Mouse" is deep on the hips not allowing Horiguchi up and switches to a snap headlock. Back up for a split second and another takedown for Demetrious. Kyoji eats a knee to the body to get up and is grounded yet again! The crowd is booing because they are idiots as Johnson's technique is a pretty thing to watch. A couple of big wiffs for Demetrious and another takedown and a brutal knee to the chest. Kyoji hits a 1-2 coming forward and "DJ" lands a big right to end the round. (10-9 Johnson)
Rd.3 Coach Hume is asking Johnson to stop with the looping punches and to stay low on the knees when on the ground. Leg kick from Johnson to start and a slapping high kick to the chest of Horiguchi. Kyoji stops a takedown attempt and "DJ" times a kick from Horiguchi to grab the back and drag his foe to the mat. Fucking brilliant. Knee to the body of Kyoji on his way back up then another on the break and a left hook then an overhand right land for the Japanese challenger. "Mighty Mo" misses on a single leg but connects with a body to body takedown! He fails once but won't fail twice. Johnson moves into side control but Horiguchi is bucking not allowing him to get a dominant position. "DJ" traps the arm in a crucifix and drops a few elbows, but again, good defense from the far east fighter. (10-9 Johnson)
Rd.4 Johnson is still full of energy coming out fast and landing a right hand. Kyoji's corner told him he needs a KO to win but Demetrious is all over him pressuring the young fighter into the fence time and time again. Horiguchi misses a trip attempt and a leg kick puts him off balance. Body punch from "Mighty Mouse" and a jumping knee, right hand, and a knee against the fence as the Champ doesn't allow the challenger a moment to breathe. Kyoji is bleeding from the nose but does land a right hand that doesn't affect "DJ." Horiguchi catches a kick from "Mighty Mouse" and still cannot take him down! (10-9 Johnson)
Rd.5 "Mighty Mouse" takes Horijuchi down instantly and controls him for the 1st two and a half minutes. Its a grapple-fest as "DJ" takes the back. Kyoji escapes to eat a knee to the body and be grounded for a final time. Johnson is unleashing punches in the crucifix and not satisfied, maneuvers into an armbar for the tapout at the very last second!
Demetrious Johnson submits Kyoji Horiguchi at 4:59 of the 5th round for the latest submission win in UFC history!!
