UFC Fight Night 64 Results: The Redemption of Mirko Cro Cop!!

UFC Fight Pass Main Card Results

Mirko FilipovicTKO’d Gabriel Gonzaga with brutal Elbow Strikes at 3:30 of the  3rd round to avenge his honor!

Mirko “Cro Cop” mutherfuckers! The MMAFO staff went ballistic as the Croatian legend made an epic comeback in his rematch with Gonzaga to stop the Brazilian in brutal fashion! Gabe shot in for the takedown early and took full mount multiple times though Mirko escaped danger and even attempted a heel hook! It seemed as if the Brazilian had his game plan on point as Filipovic struggled from his back, though he did land some nice elbows. Gonzaga fired back opening a cut across “Cro Cop’s” left eyebrow which bled heavily.

The tide turned in the 3rd as Gonzaga seemed to be slowing down and as the Brazilian pressed Mirko against the cage, Filipovic landed a two crushing elbows to the temple that had Gabriel staggered and searching for a life saving takedown. “Cro Cop” then hit two left uppercuts and stopped a desperation shot from “Napao” as Filipovic went right into his guard! Elbows from the top mixed with body punches until yet another elbow cut a massive gash in Gonzaga’s head as he turned away. Mirko unloaded the hammerfists and the Brazilian offered no defense as the referee mercifully halted the onslaught. The elbows, the former weakness of “Cro Cop” has now become a new deadly weapon! “Fight of the Night”

After the finish, “Napao” stayed on the canvas for a long time as “Cro Cop” basked in the cheers of the Polish fans celebrating his 3rd win in a row and a successful return to the UFC!

Jimi Manuwa defeated Jan Blachowicz via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).

If Manuwa didn’t seem his normal deadly self, understand that Jimi tore his meniscus, ACL, and MCL in his knee during training. Geez, all that and a year off makes the win all the more impressive.

The men battled mostly in the clinch until the 3rd round when Jimi finally started landing clean, ferocious shots. A nice win and lets see what a healthy Manuwa can do later in the year.

Pawel Pawlak defeated Sheldon Westcott by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Pawel basically outlasted Westcott who seemed gassed out by the 3rd round in which the hometown boy took over. Pawlek even dropped Sheldon in the final stanza and finished strong.

Maryna Moroz Upset Joanne Calderwood via Armbar submission at 1:30 of the 1st round.

The Ukraine’s “Iron Woman” blitzed our beloved Joanne with a rapid fire punch combination that backed “Badmofo Jojo” against the cage. Moroz then jumped guard and Calderwood was unable to defend against the armbar which forced a quick tap and the 1st loss on Joanne’s professional record.

Maryna then called out Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, climbing the cage and instigating an argument with the belt holder. The crowd roared for Joanna “Champion” as Moroz continued her taunting. A very impressive debut and a smart move getting the interest of the MMA world.

“Jojo” did not seem like herself coming into the bout. Though we are sure she will make no excuses, Calderwood looked off and reports from the Internets which never lie, rumor that personal problems may have led to the flat performance. At any rate, we at MMAFO wish Joanne all the best and we know she will be back even better than before! Dr. Kneevil fans for life!

UFC Fight Pass Prelim Results

Leon Edwards KO’d Seth Baczynski with Punches a mere 0:08 into the 1st round for the 2nd Fastest KO in UFC History!

A straight left hand dropped Seth like a sack of potatoes and Edwards landed a couple coffin nails as Leon made a spectacular example of Baczynski! Wow, that was impressive. “KO of the Night”

Bartosz Fabinski defeated Garreth McLellan via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Fabinski used superior wrestling and non-stop aggression to shutout McLellan for 15 minutes.

Sergio Moraes defeated Mickael Lebout by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

The “Panther” decided to do a little stand up training in this bout until the final round in which he finally used his vast Jiu-Jitsu advantage. Mickael pretty much had nothing to offer in opposition.

Yaotzin Meza defeated Damian Stasiak via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
Damian give it a good show considering he just fought a couple of weeks ago, but Meza obviously won 2 of the 3.

Anthony Hamilton defeated Daniel Omielanczuk by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27).

Jesus these fucking Heavyweights. Pretty sad stuff here.

Aleksandra Albu submitted Izabela Badurek via Guillotine Choke at 3:34  of the 2nd round to make a successful debut!

Badurek made the mistake of shooting in with her neck exposed and Albu snatched it up in her vice. Aleksandra also looked good standing and just plain looks good. Welcome a new future star to the UFC! “Submission of the Night”

Stevie Ray TKO’d Marcin Bandel with Punches at 1:35 of the 2nd round.

On only two weeks notice, Ray was still able to batter Marcin after taking full mount and unleashing the bomb show.

Taylor Lapilus defeated Rocky Lee via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

And finally, yet another Ultimate Fighter: China contestant, proved he doesn’t belong in the UFC and that the reality show was a wasted effort.

Haters gonna hate but who else do you know that called the great comeback of Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic? That's what we thought bitches. MMAFO went 8-4 on UFC Fight Night 64 and 5-2 on Bellator 136 for a slight rebound of 13-6 on the weekend.
