A pre-existing neck injury got extensively worse as Oliveira got up from a takedown and immediately sunk back to the mat clutching his collar area. A "micro-tear" of the esophagus (which can be fatal if untreated) was the culprit. "Do Bronx" is now out of the hospital and recovering.
Max jumped around the cage like he did something which seemed in poor taste. Act like you've been there before kid. We learned nothing this night and now with Frankie Edgar signed to face Chad Mendes at the TUF 22 Finale, it seems only a rematch, or bouts with lower ranked Jeremy Stephens and Ricardo Lamas make sense. A downer of an ending to the night.
Neil Magny defeated Erick Silva by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 30-27).
Split Decision is a bit silly. Magny won this fight easily. Silva had no clue how to breach the reach of the American and swung like a fool whiffing air all night long. Neil popped Erick in the jaw with the long jab, and though he was taken down a few times no damage was done. A nice comeback on short notice for Neil and Silva continues to fall short of expectations.

Patrick Cote TKO'd Josh Burkman via Punches at 1:26 of the 3rd round.
The veterans put on a really fun fight, but it was the still heavy hands of Cote that make the difference. The Canadian "Predator" lit up Burkman who got a little too cocky (as always) with thinking he could take the hits. "Fight of the Night"
Francisco Trinaldo TKO'd Chad Laprise at 2:43 of the very 1st round.
Bit time overhand bombs for "Massaranduba" who gets his 4th win in a row just before his birthday. Aww.
Olivier Aubin-Mercier defeated Tony Sims via Unanimous Decision (30-27 2x, 29-28).
Valerie Letourneau Upset Maryna Moroz by Unanimous Decision (29-28 2x, 30-27) in a solid fight.

Frankie Perez TKO'd Sam Stout via Punches at 0:54 of the 1st round and then promptly retired at age 26!
Hey good on ya kid. Its a tough sport and he got to live his dream and get a win in the UFC. Nothing to hang his head about and we wish him the best. Stout should think about joining him. "(T)KO of the Night"
* As for Michael Bisping's insensitive comments, well, we don't agree but we're still fans of the opinionated "Count." Everyone's entitled to their opinion but only MMAFO's is correct!
Felipe Arantes Submitted Yves Jabouin by Armbar at 4:21 of the opening round.
Arantes looked pretty solid off his back and Yves is on his way out folks. "Submission of the Night"
Nikita Krylov Submitted Marcos Rogerio de Lima via RNC at 2:29 of the opening round in controversial fashion.
Ahem, fence grabbing is illegal Mr. Krylov. Nikita used the fence to secure the finish and the referee should have restarted them and taken a point. The illegal act led to the loss which cannot sit well with Lima.
Chris Kelades defeated Chris Beal by Unanimous Decision (27-30, 29-28, 29-28).
Shane Campbell defeated Elias Silverio via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
Well shit, at least we got one Upset correct in a rough night of picking.
Misha Cirkunov KO'd Daniel Jolly with Punches at 4:45 of the opening round to make a successful debut.
We'll have to wait and see how Misha does against an opponent with a little more notice but the guy looks solid.
