UFC Fight Night 77 Results From Brasil

Main Card Results:

Vitor Belfort KO'd Dan Henderson via Head Kick & Punches at  2:07 of the 1st round.

"Hendo" leaned into a head kick from Belfort and then the Brazilian hero followed up with strikes that put Dan out for a moment, though follow up strikes woke him back up again. Vitor then went on to spew a bunch of nonsensical bullshit as always and claimed the win for God. Belfort is truly delusional about his career and place in the world.

Glover Teixeira TKO'd Patrick Cummins by Strikes at 1:12 of the 2nd round.

Teixeira got rolling in the 2nd round touching up Pat (as predicted) and then unleashed hell against the cage forcing the referee to stop the assault. We've now seen Cummins' peak but Glover isn't destined for the title either. Fun fight though.

Thomas Almeida KO'd Anthony Birchak at 4:24 of the very 1st round.

The undefeated Brazilian continues to live up to the hype as he destroyed Birchak with a text book right cross. Anthony collapsed reminiscent of Rashad Evans being knocked out by Lyoto Machida, legs akimbo beneath him and that "gone" look in the eyes. Almeida is impressive and if he continues to develop defense he is going to be nasty! "KO of the Night"

Alex Oliveira KO'd Piotr Hallmann at 0:51 in the final round.

The "Brazilian Cowboy" looked stellar weaving in and out like a prime Anderson Silva emitting a combination that ruined Piotr! Alex continues to be "must watch" viewing with a personality to match.

Rashid Magomedov defeated Gilbert Burns via Unanimous Decision (30-27 3x) in a route.

The "Highlander" has zero killer instinct. Mago has great striking but had Burns terribly hurt yet he didn't step on the gas, instead stepping away to allow his foe to recover. Rashid is really good but somebody needs to piss this guy off so we can see what he's really capable of.

Corey Anderson defeated Fabio Maldonado by Unanimous Decision (30-27 3x).

Yeah, Corey grounded Fabio time and time again to rebound nicely in his young career.

Prelim Results:

Gleison Tibau defeated Abel Trujillo via RNC at 1:45 of the initial round in controversial fashion.

Tibau got woman beater Trujillo in the choke early and the referee stepped in thinking Abel was unconscious though he was not. Fuck him. He's a horrible person anyway.

Johnny Case defeated Yan Cabral by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).

That's 12 wins in a row for "Hollywood."

Thiago Tavares submitted Clay Guida via Guillotine a mere 0:39 into the fight.

Well, Clay ran right into the guillotine after the opening bell. Disappointing to say the least.

Chas Skelly tapped Kevin Souza by RNC at 1:56 of the 2nd round.

Chas has heart fight fans! Souza dropped him with a strike but Skelly battled through the follow up attack and took the fight with the nice choke in dramatic fashion.

Viscardi Andrade defeated Gasan Umalatov by Unanimous Decision (30-27 2x, 29-28).

This was an awful fight.

Jimmie Rivera defeated Pedro Munhoz via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

This fight happened as well.

Matheus Nicolau Pereira submitted Bruno Rodrigues D’arce Choke at 3:27 of the 3rd round.

The rare and one of MMAFO's favorite submissions, the D'arce Choke reared its head as MNP took out Korea in stellar fashion.
"Submission of the Night"

MMAFO missed the unicorn rare hat trick of fight picks but we went 11-2 which is pretty good.
