UFC Fight Night 82 Results: Wonderboy Wows World!

UFC Fight Night 82 Results:

Stephen Thompson TKO’d Johny Hendricks via Punches at 3:31 of the very 1st round in a dominating Upset!

Oh my, my! “Wonderboy” came out, confused, and then annihilated Johny Hendricks in a single round for a possible early “Upset of the Year” candidate! Stephen’s kicks came from every possible angle and Johny had no idea how to counter them. Thompson just continued to touch up Hendricks until “Stefon” landed a right hand that staggered “Bigg Rigg” and then “Wonderboy” stepped on the gas putting his opponent away before he knew what was happening! Wow, what a display of offensive skills by Thompson. Impressive and now we are paying attention to Stephen as a real player at Welterweight. An eye opening performance if ever there was one. “MVP of the Night”

Roy Nelson defeated Jared Rosholt by Unanimous Decision (30-27 2x, 29-28).

Terrible. Awful. Nobody liked this fight including the combatants. Rosholt shouldn’t be cut but he has to be aware that he is hated by MMA fans.

Ovince Saint Preux defeated Rafael Cavalcante by Unanimous Decision (30-27 2x, 29-28).

“OSP” hurt (possibly broke) his ankle and was still able to run game over Cavalcante. Rafael is just done since his PED suspension and St. Preux soldiers on but still needs to join a big time camp.

Joseph Benavidez defeated Zach Makovsky by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28 2x).

Makovsky is just a step behind as predicted but he’s now training at Tristar which can only help him. Benavidez continues on having beaten the last 5 men he’s faced while waiting for someone to knock off “Mighty Mouse” so he can get another title shot.

Misha Cirkunov submitted Alex Nicholson via Neck Crank at 1:28 of the 2nd round.

Alex proposed to his girlfriend at the Friday weigh-ins and then proceeded to get his jaw popped (the entire arena heard it break) and broken with a fracture. Misha could not secure the choke so he just used his brute strength to shatter bone forcing Nicholson to tapout and stand holding his wounded jaw while blood streamed forth. It was gnarly and the power of this Cirkunov cannot be denied. “Submission of the Night”

* MMAFO told you and we’re saying it again, Misha Cirkunov is one to watch at Light Heavyweight!

Mike Pyle TKO’d Sean Spencer via Strikes at 4:25 of the 3rd and final round.

Pyle slowly lured in Spencer gaining speed and eventually trapping Sean in “Quicksand” by the 3rd round (< see what we did there). A spinning back elbow from the 40 year old wobbled Sean and Mike ended the dance with standing elbows and high knees forcing the stoppage.

Another great win for Mike Pyle. Sure he’s not going to contend for any belts but you have to enjoy his fighting style and its great to see an “old man” whooping up on some younglings. Well done sir.

Josh Burkman defeated K.J. Noons by Unanimous Decision (30-27 3x).

Burkman is old but he did cut 18 lbs. in 24 hours which is super healthy and smart. Noons needs cut from the roster and we move on now.

Derrick Lewis TKO’d Damian Grabowski with Punches at 2:17 of the opening round.

Sooo, Lewis got Grabowski down and then he brought the thunder with frighteningly powerful strikes. Damian was obviously shocked by the strength of Derrick and was in a defensive shell immediately.
“Grabi” did block the final thunder fist but the sheer forced of the blow freighted the referee so he called it. An exhausted Grabi slowly got to his feet not protesting a thing. Lewis’ post win ground gorilla punching push up was retarded. Throat slash included.

Derrick Lewis then had a hilariously bad post fight interview saying such gems as, “I wanted to take his head off.” and,  “it took longer than i expected.” The big man is a dumb idiot, but a dumb idiot with massive power.

Scoggins and Stoner
Justin Scoggins defeated Ray Borg by Unanimous Decison (30-27 2x, 30-26).

Justin Scoggins is MMAFO’s boy! We never jumped off the train and long live the kid! Okay, maybe we had a moment of doubt and after the weigh-ins we wanted to change our pick to Justin seeing his obvious size advantage, but chickened out. Justin showed he could out-strike and even out-grapple the grappler as he easily controlled the contest wherever it went. Scoggins even had Borg so off of his game that Ray did a strange flippity spin and almost fell down. Hilarious! Justin chewed up Borg for the entirety and then put the Flyweight division and Champion Demetrious Johnson on notice!

* It should be noted, the “gentle art” got its ass kicked two fights in a row!

Diego Rivas KO’d Noad Lahat by Brutality Flying Knee of Death at 0:23 of the 2nd round!

Lahat used far superior grappling to contain Rivas until the men were broken apart to start the 2nd round. Then, Diego exploded across the cage unleashing a horrifically perfect flying knee that murdered Noad in the center of the Octagon. Jesus Christ it looked like Lahad died then and there while Riveras celebrated and even screamed at the still unconscious Lahat as security quickly ushered him away. Diego continued to roar and roar as if having a roid rage attack while showing no concern for his fallen opponent. As unprofessional and cold as the post fight reaction seemed, it was an absolutely gruesome knockout and Noad did eventually gain his bearings (after a scary long time out) and walked out of the arena with the help of his corner. “KO of the Night”

Mickey Gall defeated Mike Jackson via RNC, 0:45 into the initial round.

Mickey Gall won the “CM Punk Sweepstakes” by defeating journalist/photographer/part-time fighter Jackson in a quick outing. Mickey landed a punch that hurt Mike and then Gall swept for the quick tap and the face off with Phil Brooks mid-cage.

* Phil “CM Punk” Brooks has injured his back and is having surgery thus delaying his Octagon debut yet again.

Alex White defeated Artem Lobov by Unanimous Decision (30-27 3x).

Told ya. We have no idea why Artem is so cocky when his skills are so mediocre. Conor McGregor may have gotten his buddy Lobov a job but he’s really going to struggle to keep it. Bet.
