Nate Diaz

During the pre-fight trash talk between McGregor and Diaz, Conor called himself a lion while comparing Nate to a prey gazelle. Bellator Lightweight Champion had the best response to this statement via Twitter.

The younger Diaz brother is possibly looking at a title fight with Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler next according to Dana White. MMAFO predicted this after the win Saturday night and there is plenty of storyline there with Nick having knocked out Robbie at UFC 47 way back in '04. What a striker's war it would be between 209 and the "Ruthless" one. It would be Diaz' 2nd attempt at a title after being bested by then Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson (via Decision) back in '12. 

Nate is now 3-2 at Welterweight.

Diaz's 9 submission victories are the most in the modern UFC era (Royce Gracie has the record at 11).

With UFC 196's "fight bonus," Nate has earned 14 such bonuses, the most in UFC history!

Nate also had words for UFC commentator Jon Anik who made the mistake of saying he would, "get a 209 tattoo," if Diaz beat McGregor. Nate closed the post fight press conference by saying, "Yo, yo Jon Anik had better get a 209 tattoo or I'm going to whip his ass." Classic Diaz. Anik responded on Twitter.

Conor McGregor

The "Notorious" one was prescient in defeat and quickly analyzed the mistakes that led to his loss. Conor admitted he was throwing everything into each punch vying for the knockout and his wheel kicks were missing, sapping his energy. The range was also giving him problems and he noticed he began hitting gloves knowing he was beginning to struggle. “The featherweights are celebrating another man’s victory.” stated McGregor citing much of the vitriol directed his way after the loss. It's not like when Ronda Rousey lost as the Irishman's fans are staying with him and offering support.

Conor is now going back to 145 against Frankie Edgar or Jose Aldo who both badly want the shot. 

McGregor also switched up his entrance music from the “Foggy Dew” opening leading into “Notorious” by The Notorious BIG to the “Foggy Dew” leading into "El Chapo" by The Game. An obvious error in judgement and what truly led to the loss. 

Miesha Tate

Will we see Tate versus Rousey 3 next for the UFC women's Bantamweight title? Dana White believes so saying, "I think that Ronda now will now fight Miesha Tate for the title - that's what's gonna happen. That's what I said before this fight even happened. Whoever wins tonight will fight Ronda for the title. I texted Ronda - she wasn't watching the fight. I texted her and she said, 'What happened?' And I said, 'Miesha just choked her unconscious.' She said, 'Looks like I gotta get back to work.' Possible, but never believe what Dana White says especially about future title fights. Ain't that right Mr. Edgar?

Its interesting that the official scorecards came out and the judges had given Tate a 10-8 2nd round. So, if Miesha had won the 5th without the stoppage the bout would have been a draw. "Cupcake" said her corner was honest with her saying she had to finish the fight to win and, "risk it, to get the biscuit." Tate's victory was the 4th latest submission win in UFC history!

Somebody knows what he’s doing on the gambling side of things. Dave Oancea bet $77,000 on Tate and won $220,000. This after making bank on Holly Holm’s giant upset of Ronda Rousey last year.

Holly Holm

The "Preacher's Daughter" was all class as usual in defeat stating that her heart was broken but vowing to come back stronger. Though Amanda Nunes asked for a title shot against Miesha Tate at the post fight presser, it would make more sense for the "Lioness" to meet Holm next should the UFC want Ms. Rousey for the next title fight. 

Georges St.Pierre was in attendance at UFC 196 but there is still no word from "Rush" about whether or not he might make a return. UFC 200 is in July and there is speculation that the Canadian would compete on the card. 

Chuck Liddell and Jon Jones had an amusing staredown picture posted upon Twitter based upon the "Iceman's" previous statement that he liked his chances against "Bones" in a fight. Fuck em up Chuck.
