Fox Main Card Results:
Demian Maia tapped Carlos Condit via Rear-Naked Choke at 1:52 of the very 1st round.
Well, we'd be lying if we said we weren't deeply disappointed, but all credit to Mr. Maia. Carlos just can't stop a goddamn takedown and once Demian grounded him, it was just a matter of time. The Brazilian quickly took Condit's back and sunk in the RNC for his 6th win in a two.
Maia is now 9-2 at Welterweight and deserves a title shot unlike current champ Tyron Woodley and his lil' path to the belt. The problem is the current logjam at the top of the division. Stephen Thompson also deserves a shot at the crown while Tyron is calling for super fights 10 seconds after getting the strap. MMAFO says "Wonderboy" 1st and Maia should sit and wait for his turn.
Carlos Condit said post fight, "I don't know if I have any business fighting at this level anymore." Well we can answer, you do. Carlos is an amazing fighter who lost a terrible judges decision for the belt and then got caught by a Jiu-Jitsu ace. It happens. It's just like getting caught with a big punch. Shit happens in MMA. However, Condit has nothing to prove should he wish to retire. The guy is a class act and future Hall of Famer. We hope to see him compete again but would completely understand if he has had enough. The man is very intelligent and can excel where he chooses. Best of luck homie.
Anthony Pettis submitted Charles Oliveira by Guillotine at 1:49 of the 3rd round.
It wasn't easy but it was the stern test "Showtime" needed for his Featherweight debut. Both men came out "bombing on common sense" with brutal striking exchanges. We were screaming at Tony to stop jumping into Charles' dangerous guard but the dude has obviously upped his ground game. Oliveira actually won the 2nd round with striking but in the final round, "Do Bronx" jumped on Tony's back but it was Pettis that turned into his opponent with stellar grappling and forced the scramble where he secured the finish.

Paige VanZant TKO’d Bec Rawlings via jumping switch-kick 0:17 into the 2nd round.
Jesus praise, "12 Gauge" Paige. VanZant came out with a bunch of spinny nonsense but she made it count in highlight fashion in the 2nd. Paige faked with the right and threw a beautiful switch-kick that ruined Rawlings. PVZ jumped on the wounded prey and finished for an amazing stoppage. "(T)KO of the Night"
Jim Miller defeated Joe Lauzon by Split Decision in an exciting rematch!
Not sure what all the "controversy" is about, we thought it was a clean enough win for Miller. These Lightweight veterans are always going to put on a good show and they didn't disappoint here. It was a raucous grind and one the kids should watch to observe toughness.

Fox Prelims Results:
Sam Alvey TKO'd Kevin Casey at 4:56 of the 2nd round.
Yeah, not much of a surprise here. See ya in the minors Casey. The only surprising thing was that Sam's wife is a successful model. Who knew?
Kyle Bochniak defeated Enrique Barzola by controversial Split Decision (29-28, 27-30, 29-28).
Now this one was controversial. We picked Kyle but didn't think he deserved the win.
Alessio Di Chirico defeated Garreth McLellan via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).
Not a bad little fight here. These guys threw down and got bloody as Di Chirico won while wearing a black armband in tribute to those affected by the earthquake in Italy.
Felipe Silva TKO'd Shane Campbell at 1:13 of the opening round to make a successful UFC debut.
Chad Laprise TKO'd Thibault Gouti at 1:36 of the opening round.
Jeremy Kennedy defeated Alex Ricci by Unanimous Decision (30-27 2x, 29-28).
7-3 on the picks here and 3-1 on Bellator 160 bruv.
