UFC 207 Results: Nunes & Garbrandt Are Champions!

Main Card (PPV) Results:

Amanda Nunes KO'd Ronda Rousey with an onslaught of Punches at 0:48 of the very 1st round!

So much for the "Rowdy" Ronda comeback. The "Lioness" put all the haters to bed along with Rousey when she destroyed Ronda landing 27 murderous punches! Rousey was rocked almost instantly into the bout as Nunes fired off 1-2's in succession that had Rousey staggering around the Octagon. Ronda's universally hated coach Edmond Tarverdyan screamed, "Noooooo!" in high pitched sad hilarity, unable to stop the assault.

Before we get in to shitting upon Rousey, let's take a moment to praise the genuinely sweet and killer person that Amanda truly is. Nunes was under the biggest spotlight, against the most famous female MMA fighter of all time, in her 1st title defense, and Amanda handled everything with confidence and grace. Massive pressure and the UFC didn't even show Nunes in the promotional commercials, and she comes out and demolishes the brat in 48 goddamn seconds! Wow.

Now, nobody deserved to get shit kicked and humiliated more than Ronda Rousey. This petulant child took her ball and ran home after demanding a media blackout going into UFC 207. If you ever wanted an example how NOT to handle a loss as a professional fighter, this is it. MMAFO is not afraid to say Rousey is a cunt and when things don't go her way, she crumbles which is not the mark of a champion competitor. She also remained at Glendale Fight Club with coach Edmond Tarverdyan who a terrible teacher. Ronda looked like she had not improved a damn thing in her game in the 13 months she's been away. Its awful goodness that makes MMAFO's black heart grow. She will now retire rather than face any adversity.

Cody Garbrandt Upset Dominick Cruz by Unanimous Decision (48-46 2x, 48-47) to become the new UFC Bantamweight Champion!

MMAFO was wrong on a lot of picks and prognostications this evening, but none more so than this. Not only was Cruz not in Garbrandt's head, but Cody was the one styling and dancing while dissecting Dominick in a 5 round showcase of superiority. "No Love" tagged Cruz early and often landing with precision and not biting on Dominick's feints. The 1st Team Alpha Male UFC Champion had no fear of Cruz's punches and clowned the fool making him look like a fool overnight. Whether he was doing burpee's, dancing the robot, or just shit talking Cruz, Garbrandt pissed excellence. Cody dropped Dominick twice in the 3rd round and Cruz'd (ha) to victory while enjoying the ride! "Fight of the Night"

At the age of 25, the undefeated (11-0) Cody "No Love" Garbrandt becomes the UFC Bantamweight Champion in style!

T.J. Dillashaw defeated John Lineker by Unanimous Decision (30-26 3x).

TJ just whooped dat ass and it wasn't even close! Lineker had zero answer for "Dilly's" movement and quick striking as "Bang's" prize pupil built up a giant lead with slick takedowns and masterful boxing while John never did land that big bomb.

TJ looked spectacular and called out Dominick Cruz though now he might be in limbo again if the UFC gives the former longtime Bantamweight king a rematch. If Dillashaw is tapped for the opportunity, you can expect fireworks with prodigal son TJ and Duane Ludwig in a bitter war of words with Team Alpha Male!

Dong Hyun Kim defeated Tarec Saffiedine by Split Decision (27-30, 29-28 2x) in a lackluster and controversial affair.

Well this was ugly. It truly seemed as though Tarec won most of the fight out landing Kim 52-36. The major media outlets registered on 16-2-2 for Saffiedine and the only official judge to get things right was Glenn Trowbridge. Apparently, "aggressively moving forward" is worth more than significant strikes. Shame.

Ray Borg defeated Louis Smolka by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-26 2x) after failing to make weight.

We're going to start placing more and more attention upon unprofessional fighters who can't make weight and this very fight is a good example as to why. Borg missed the 125 limit by 3.5 lbs. which as was pointed out on the broadcast, is quite a bit for Flyweight and the 2nd failure in a row for Ray Ray.

MMA Fighters, we've said it before and we'll state it again; DO NOT take the fight if your opponent misses weight. It can only hurt you.

Ray looked fresh as a daisy out there as he dominated Louis in a grappling clinic that would be impressive had he made weight.

FS1 Prelims Results:

Neil Magny defeated Johny Hendricks by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).

It wasn't pretty, but Magny got the job done and Hendricks has now fallen (hard) losing his last 3 bouts. Neil's lanky frame was easy for Johny to take down but he didn't do anything once the fight hit the canvas. Magny however, went for armbars and triangle chokes with elbows to seal a close fight.

"Pigg Rigg" stated he will move up to Middleweight after these disastrous and harmful weight cut failures. If, that is, he doesn't get cut from the UFC roster.

Antonio Carlos Junior def. Marvin Vettori by Unanimous Decision (29-28 3x).

Awful. Lame. This fight sucked. ACJ poked Marvin in the eye twice before Vettori got one back all in the span of 2 minutes. The youngster seemed to gas out late while "Shoe Face" (his nickname not ours) grappled to victory.

Alex Garcia KO'd Mike Pyle with a single Punch at 3:34 of the opening round.

An overhand right rendered Pyle unconscious before his head crashed against the mat in a horrific but impressive finish. Damn! "KO of the Night"

Niko Price tapped Brandon Thatch via Arm-Triangle Choke at 4:30 of the 1st round in a stellar debut!

Price made his debut count jumping all over the hapless Thatch who has now lost 4 in a row and is likely done in the UFC. "Submission of the Night"

UFC Fight Pass Prelim Results:

Tim Means versus Alex Oliveira ended in a No Contest due to "illegal knees to the head of a downed opponent" at 3:33 of the initial round.

This was a debacle. Now, to be completely honest, we thought the knees were legal as well but drinks were involved. Oliveira had a single knee down and Means unleashed 2 vicious knee strikes that floored the controversial Brazilian. Granted, it was illegal but Alex then went for the Oscar pretending to get up and fall back onto the stool in and obvious acting display that had the fans angered. There needs to be a rematch here and Oliveira has done a 180 turning into a cowardly fraud.

* The UFC employs former athletic commissioner Marc Ratner to explain these confusing moments and the guy got it completely wrong as he generally does. Joe Rogan and MMAFO were also mistaken but its Ratner's damn job and he's pretty much useless.

* Congratulations and best of luck to matchmaker to the stars Joe Silva as this was his final evening with the UFC. The man was exceptional at his job and we wish him the best in retirement.

* Finally, we knew all along it was Mike Goldberg's final event and we could not be happier about that (provided the UFC doesn't hire the horrendous Jim Rome as rumored). People are lauding praise at "Goldie" suddenly forgetting they hated him for years and that he was terrible at his job. Good riddance and Mike went out in typical fashion flubbing up his final line saying, "congratulations to belt winners Cody, and Dom Cruz." Its finally over!

MMAFO got its ass kicked in the picks game like we were Ronda Rousey in a comeback fight. Yes, we're loving this. 3-6 on the picks which isn't the best way to end the year.
