As of June 6, 2017, the MMAFO MMA World Rankings have been updated!
Please keep in mind, these are world rankings, and not just UFC rankings. The MMA world is not simply one promotion. All great fighters based upon record, strength of competition, and activity are considered.
The Heavyweight rankings remain unchanged as very little has transpired.
At Light Heavyweight, Volkan Oezdemir stormed into the Top 10 at #8 after a 0:28 crushing of Miesha Cirkunov.
* Jon Jones is still out of the rankings due to over a year of inactivity and multiple PED violations.
Middleweight has calmed down after Robert Whittaker blew up the standards. "The Reaper" will soon face habitual cheater Yoel Romero for the "Interim" title on July 8th (UFC 213).
Welterweight shows no movement and Carlos Condit has until August before the "year of inactivity" rule takes effect and he drops from the rankings.
Lightweight is still in a quagmire as we wait to see if Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather every happens. Eddie Alvarez holds his position being gifted a No Contest against Dustin Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov is still out there somewhere not making weight and eating tiramisu.
Featherweight has completely changed as new Champion Max Holloway knocked off the greatest 145er of all time and opening up the rankings. Somewhere Frankie Edgar is grinning like a fool and training his ass off! Sadly, Chan Sung Jung will likely leave the rankings as he has suffered multiple injuries and will be out of action for quite some time. It's bad luck for the "Korean Zombie" who has making his comeback after wasting his best years in his homeland's military.
Bantamweight showed a tiny bit of movement as the hometown judges gave Raphael Assuncao an early X-Mas gift over Marlon Moraes. Kingpin Cody Garbrandt is doing the classic new champion move of immediately getting surgeries instead of defending his belt.
* Bryan Caraway is out of the rankings due to over a year of inactivity.
Flyweight is experiencing drama as the UFC has chosen to make an enemy of the #1 Pound4Pound fighter in the world (obviously Demetrious Johnson), jerking him around and threatening him via UFC President Dana "Bully Cunt" White. Ray Borg and Brandon Moreno both make moves up the list with nice wins.
Women's Bantamweight shows little activity though Katlyn Chookagian makes her 1st entrance on the list at #9.
Women's Strawweight is still dominated by Champion Joanna Jedzejczyk but Claudia Gadelha reclaims her #2 spot after subbing the lovely and beautiful Karolina Kowalkiewicz in quick fashion. Courtney Casey and Randa Markos make their debuts while Angela Hill drops a spot after a loss to Jessica Andrade.
