UFC Fight Night 136 Hunt vs. Oliynyk Moscow: Fight Card, Some Picks + Odds

September 15, 2018
Olimpiyskiy Stadium
Moscow, Russia

UFC Fight Night 136 Fight Card:

Mark Hunt (13-12-1,1) -150 vs. Oleksiy Oliynyk (56-11-1) +140

The eldest fighter on the UFC roster (44) steps back into the cage with a 8-6-1,1 record for the promotion. "Hunto" is a legend of the sport but he's looking to finish his contract with the UFC, move on to other pastures, and complete his lawsuit against said promoters. With all of this hanging over his head, and at this age, you have to wonder how much preparation the "Super Samoan" is willing to put into this appearance. Mark's not as durable as he once was, but power is the last thing to go and he's always got a ton of that.

Alexey is also a time tested veteran (41) who has been doing the damn thing for a long, long time. "The Boa Constrictor" has bad knees, is slow as shit, and has nothing to offer on the feet. However, the "Emperor of the Ezekiel Choke" knows how to snatch the win from far superior athletes and basically outsmart them on the mat where he thrives.

MMAFO has love for both of these competitors who are rightly getting a little shine as the UFC enters Moscow for the 1st time, and they get the Main Event slot. Good on both but only 1 guy can win. Unless Mark falls over on his own, it's going to be awfully difficult for Alex to get Hunt down to do work. Pulling guard will be risky as well and it's far more likely "Hunto" lands a couple of paws on the hometown hero putting him out. If not, this bout is going to crawl along for a long, never ending, 25 minutes.

WINNER-Mark Hunt by Rd.2 KO

The RETURN of Al Capone
#9 Nikita Krylov (24-5) -125 vs. #7 Jan Błachowicz (22-7) +115

"Don't Call Me Al Capone" is returning to the UFC for a 2nd run and doing so near the homeland of Ukraine. Krylov dropped to 205s in '14 and along with dedicated training, became a force in the shallow division. "The Miner" went 5-2 at LW and then took a larger paycheck to compete for Fight Nights Global in Russia where he went 4-0. Get this, Nikita has never been to the judges ever, in 29 professional bouts!! The Donetsk resident has morphed into a complete fighter and at 26 years of age, he could be the future of the division.

Oh Jan, just who the fuck are you? Blachowicz has won 3 in a row and actually looked like a contender in his rematch with Jimi Manuwa in March. However, Janet has frequent moments of inactivity and generally looks like a journeyman so who knows what version of the Pole will show up. He's got some striking and some grappling, sometimes.

There's no way in hell we are going to pick Jan based upon his consistent inconsistencies even though he could win this. Screw that noise. It may be the 1st decision of his career, but Krylov finds a way to win at the very, very least, 2 rounds in his favor to win in his return.

WINNER-Nikita Krylov by Decision

Andrei Arlovski (27-16-0,1) +115 vs. Shamil Abdurakhimov (18-4) -125

Sigh, it's "Belarus Vampire," but there isn't much bite left in the fangs these days. We all know this.

"Abrek" is trained in Sanshou, Freestyle wrestling, Wushu Sanda, kickboxing, with a lot of combat experience.

Shamil isn't going to set the world on fire or anything but he's decent enough and should win here since his opponent is 91 years old in fight years. Why don't the UFC mercifully let Arlovski go so if he chooses to continue fighting, he can compete with cats more on his level at Bellator or something?

WINNER-Shamil Abdurakhimov by Decision

Thiago Alves (22-12) +420 vs. Alexey Kunchenko (18-0) -475

Ugh. We've got 2 "Pitbulls" on this card that need to be put down. Thiago has had so many injuries over the course of his career, he's basically shot at this point. Alves has his legendary leg kicks but he's also gotten finished in 2 of his last 3 losses. It's not good.

There's excitement around the promotional debut of Kunchenko who is entering his prime and is a undefeated finisher. Alex is a striking machine and should be able to put Thiago away sooner rather than later.

WINNER-Alexey Kunchenko by Rd.1 TKO

Khalid Murtazaliev (13-2) -160 vs. C.B. Dollaway (17-8) +150

Khalid is coming in on a weeks notice and we're still picking him. Bring an elevator kid.

Dollaway is back after getting his Oscar trophy for his performance against Hector Lombard back in March. We hate this smarmy guy. He just sucks and really doesn't need to be on the roster.

WINNER-Khalid Murtazaliev by Rd.2 TKO

Petr Yan (9-1) -825 vs. Jin Soo Son (9-2) +650

* Soo Son missed weight (137 lbs.)

WINNER-Petr Yan

Rustam Khabilov (22-3) -750 vs. Kajan Johnson (23-13-1) +525

WINNER-Rustam Khabilov

Maribek Taisumov (26-5) -475 vs. Desmond Green (21-7) +420

* Taisumov (161 lbs.) missed weight by 5 pounds! Egregious and unprofessional.

WINNER-Maribek Taisumov

Magomed Ankalaev (8-1) -400 vs. Marcin Prachnio (13-3) +355

WINNER-Magomed Ankalaev

Jordan Johnson (9-0) -250 vs. Adam Yandiev (9-0) +230

WINNER-Jordan Johnson

Ramazan Emeev (17-3) -560 vs. Stefan Sekulic (12-2) +475

WINNER-Ramazan Emeev

Merab Dvalishvili (7-4) -500 vs. Terrion Ware (17-8) +435

WINNER-Merab Dvalishvili
