Even Uncle Dana White called this 142nd season of the Ultimate Fighter the worst ever, and now he wants you to watch it. Well, as an MMA addict we have to. Bastard. There’s a great card Saturday and then this frivolous card Sunday. Lets get this over with.
Frankie Edgar (16-4-1) -550 vs. BJ Penn (16-9-2) +425 3 [Re-Rematch]
Baby J is back! How many times have we heard this decry from the Hawaiian “Prodigy?” Penn went off the rails back in 2010 when he kinda got jobbed by the judges in the 1st fight with Frankie. Since that date, BJ has gone 1-4-1, returned to Welterweight, and really took horrendous beatings at the hands of Nick Diaz and Rory MacDonald and retired. Now the notorious underachieving Penn has hooked up with nutritionist Mike Dolce and is on point, ready to make the 145 limit at Featherweight for the 1st time in his career at 35 years of age!

Dhiego Lima (9-1) -165 vs. Eddie Gordon (6-1) +125

What the hell is this guy doing? He’s dropping to a weight class he has never competed at, and is facing a guy that beat him twice (though honestly it should be 1-1). Penn has bounced all over the place, even competing at Light Heavyweight, but the guy cannot seem to stay motivated, or at least, thats his excuse for the myriad of mistakes he has made in his career. Even if motivated, can BJ stop the fast twitch hit and run attack style that Edgar is known for?
Frankie is the antihesis of Penn. Edgar is always training and loves to fight though he has been sidelined for a year to make a shitty reality show. The “Answer” is in his prime has showed more heart than just about anybody in the sport with a will to match.
So, when these men do meet for the 3rd time, can BJ do something to stop the great movement and stern boxing of Edgar? Or will Frankie pull the ultra rare hat trick. Penn’s endurance is always a question, no matter the weight class, and the we are tired of watching BJ do everything except focusing on his career at a single weight class. How many tricks, bells and whistles does he need to use to keep distracting people from the fact that not only is he not that good anymore, but that truly he's an under achiever with more excuses than wins. Frankie wins the same way he did the 1st two times.
