RIZIN Results: A Successful Return For Fedor Emelianenko

RIZIN Day 2 Results:

Fedor Emelianenko TKO’d Jaideep Singh via Strikes at 3:02 of the 1st round.

The "Last Emperor" had a successful return as he smashed poor Jaideep into the canvas. Emelianenko clinched up immediately and Singh tried to wrap himself in the ropes but the ringside referees pushed him free and Fedor threw the kickboxer to the mat. We were actually surprised that Singh was able to move a bit on the ground but once Fedor took full mount, it was all over. Jaideep couldn't take the punishment and tapped out before the referee could step in.

* Fedor's next bout is TBA but odds are that it will also be in Rizin and not the UFC.

Muhammed Lawal KO’d Jiri Prochazka by Right Hook in the very 1st round to become the Rizin Heavyweight Grand Prix winner!

Kron Gracie submitted Asen Yamamoto via Triangle Choke in the opening round.

Andy Souwer KO’d Yuichiro Nagashima in the initial round.

Baruto Kaido defeated Peter Aerts by Unanimous Decision.

Bob Sapp sort of defeated Akebono by Technical Decision in a somewhat fictitious bout.

Gabi Garcia KO’d Lei'd Tapa in a less than stellar debut.

Takeru TKO’d Yang Ming via Referee Stoppage.

Soo Chul Kim defeated Maike Linhares by Unanimous Decision.

Brennan Ward submitted Ken Hasegawa via RNC in the 2nd round.

Jiri Prochazka TKO’d Vadim Nemkov by Retirement after the 1st round.

Muhammed Lawal defeated Teodoras Aukstuolis via Unanimous Decision.

Rena Kubota submitted Jleana Valentino by Flying Armbar in the 2nd round!

RIZIN Day 1 Results:

Jiri Prochazka TKO’d poor Satoshi Ishii with nasty Knees to the head on the ground in an odd performance.

Jiri stopped the early takedown attempt and landed a big phantom head kick (it seemed to barely hit the arms) which hurt Ishii who crumbled. A few more punches from Prochazka and Satoshi was turtling up to accept the hard knees to the grounded opponent, which is legal in Rizin (shades of Pride FC).

Vadim Nemkov TKO’d Goran Reljic via Strikes in the 1st round.

Nemkov looked like a monster knocking Reljic into the ropes after a left/right hand combination and then just assaulted Goran on the mat. Perhaps Reljic needed more than the two months off he took after he last bout which was a KO loss. Vadim is an interesting one to watch in the future.

Teodoras Aukstuolis KO’d Bruno Cappelozza with Strikes in the 1st round.

Aukstuolis landed a jab that discombobulated Cappelozza but he survived only to eat an overhand right that disconnected Bruno from reality.

Muhammel Lawal KO’d Brett McDermott via Strikes in the opening round.

“King Mo” landed two big right hands against McDermott who had very little idea what to do with MMA rules. Brett proved to be a tough comer but Lawal just had far to much experience and put him away while wearing wrestling shoes which we haven’t seen in MMA in quite some time.

Valentin Moldavsky submitted Yuta Uchida by RNC in the 1st round.

Shinya Aoki TKO’d Kazushi Sakuraba via Strikes in an unnecessary fight.

It was hard to watch and sad. Saku tried for but a single takedown before he was out positioned by Aoki who pounded Kazushi into a bloody mess. Shinya did not feel good about the beating and weeping embraced the Japanese legend.

Hiroyuki Takaya defeated DJ Taiki by Unanimous Decision.

Hideo Tokoro submitted Kizaemon Saiga via Armbar submission.

Anatoly Tokov KO’d A.J. Matthews by Punch in the opening round.

Hinata Watanabe TKO’d Kazuyuki Miyata via the Three Knockdown Rule (K-1).

Hiroya Kawabe KO’d Akiyo Nishiura with Strikes in the 3rd round.

Felipe Efrain KO’d Yuki Motoya but the bout is ruled a No Contest because Efrain missed weight.

Kirill Sidelnikov TKO’d Carlos Toyota via opening round Strikes.

The very chubby "Baby Fedor" actually came through with a big win.

Tsuyoshi Kosaka TKO’d James Thompson by Strikes in the 2nd round.

14-3 on the picks.
